It's so quiet here this AM. I'll have to tiptoe around the forums so I don't wake anyone up.

Hope you feel better, too

Hugs to you.

slider's first CI--8:15 am Central

Good morning all. I have been really frustrated the last few days trying to get things done, because things keep coming up to interfere. I keep getting sidetracked by emergencies and urgent situations and I don't even remember to check my calendar then, so something else goes critical...whew! I'm scheduling time this afternoon to really look over my calendar, upcoming events, and review notes. I have a Council meeting tonight, and I want to be fully on top of things. I am also reminded of how much more smoothly things would work each day if I would get up early and take the time to review and plan. I have GOT to stop staying up so late!!!! (That's not a should! That's a moment of truth!)

Ta Da:
--made sure DD was awake at 6 am, reminded her to feed kitty
--got myself up at 7:15, loo
--breakfast and coffee
--checked on dental appts in a panic--but it's ok (a few weeks away, got it on calendar now, duh)
--checked in (will avoid further cuop as a form of procrastination at the moment)
--looked outside when weatherbug chirped--dense fog (yesterday it was tornadoes!)

I want to:
--shower, groom, and dress
--start load of laundry for myself
--go over to church by 9:30
--call church member in Houston hospital (where is number???)
--select hymns, put copy of lesson insert in planner
--consider announcements for bulletin
--check church email (discovered secretary hasn't been)
--rsvp re: Sat dinner (I replied yes, yesterday, then remembered the wedding this morning)
--get fundraiser tickets to take to nursing home
--straighten desk in church study
--review, plan, and prep as much as possible before lunch
--healthy lunch
--finish review after lunch, type pastor's report for tonight & make copies
--review household needs and make a plan to best utilize storage and make things nice for visit from Mama in 2 weeks
--walk at 3:00 (get most comfortable shoes possible, use inserts if needed)(I hope park isn't being used for school activities!)
--pick up DD at 3:45
--assign her chores and supervise her
--pick up DS at 5:30
--assign chores
--snack
--Council meeting at 7 pm
--schedule any follow up to Council meeting in planner, Outlook, and phone calendar as well as family wall calendar
--relax
--kids start bedtime routine at 9, DD take benadryl
--kids to bed at 10
--me to bed by 10:30
--set alarm for 6 am

Not only Foghorn can crow

I want to brag that I finally cleared off my table the other day, and sorted most of the stuff. Some of it I was able to put into folders as I went (thanks, milo, for some of the suggestions I used). Some is mail I have yet to read. Sadly, there is a new pile on the table right now--a work in progress concerning my aunt. But at least I have some order, and I am thankful for the space to do this project. Actually, I personally value the table for work space more than eating space. But hubby feels otherwise. :P

A complication that occurred in the midst of this process is that I rearranged so many stacks and changed the look of the dining room so much that I lost my planner for 4 days! :?

table clearing

Good job! It seems like every horizontal space in the house just attracts little piles of unrelated papers.

I recently implemented separate "mailboxes" for each member of the family in the hopes that the kitchen counters would stay clear. They don't. Then again, I do find it's faster to clear it off when I'm ready to cook. Instead of having to constantly ask DW she wants done all her stuff, I just dump it in her box (and vice versa). Less pestering = easier relationship and more time to talk about stuff that matters.

pro's first check-in - 8:30am EDT US

I'm having internet connectivity problems today. My cable modem went out at 3:40am this morning - I know that because I was in the process of trying to post a message. It's still out. I called Time Warner Cable, and their recorded message said there will be service interruptions today in Manhattan for scheduled maintainence. I'd say that 6 continuous hours of no internet is more than an "interruption". I thought about going through the torture of TWC menus to get to a human, but decided they wouldn't have anything new to tell me. I'm posting now through extreme measures, but for the most part I'll be offline until my cable service is restored.

I had a bad night last night. I woke up every hour because my throat was so painfully sore. I'd propped myself up into almost a sitting position to sleep, but it didn't help that much. I feel slightly better now that I've been up for an hour and things have had a chance to drain. I've also been drinking hot coffee. When that's gone, I'll go back to hot tea.

My throat is still very sore, but I feel less unwell than I did last night when I went to sleep. My breathing is still tight and my ears still hurt, but my temperature may be back to normal - not sure, haven't checked it yet. I've been too busy pouring hot liquids down my gullet to soothe my throat.

Today will be another sick day for me. I hope I'm better tomorrow. Today I'll only be checking in to make sure I take my pills, which I have a tendency to forget when I'm sick.

Rexroth - I sure hope you don't have what I have. It's very unpleasant!!

supplies

I think I may be well enough to go to the drug store today and get supplies - expectorant, decongestant, throat lozenges, etc. I don't feel feverish today - uncomfortable, but not as unwell.

update

I cancelled my meeting tomorrow with ex-20. I think perhaps subconsciously that's why I got sick in the first place - I was so uncomfortable about this meeting. Now that it's a non-issue, maybe I'll get better. I really want to get better - this has been miserable.

todayfirst 8:20 AM EST

I'm feeling pretty good despite not sleeping well last night. I hope everyone else gets a good rest and y'all with colds wake up feeling better.

Things I've done so far today:
- Usual morning startup stuff

Things I'd still like to do:
- Test hardware one more time
- Call vendor
- Review programming tasks
- program (I'll aim for at least 3 hours again)
- Weekly review
