P.A. Thought for the Day

When
we were procrastinating, we used to be ashamed of the past. Remorse is
terrible mental punishment: ashamed of ourselves for the things we've
said we were going to do and never got done, afraid to face people because of what they might think of
us, afraid of the consequences of what we did or didn't do when we were procrastinating. In
P.A. we forget about the past.

Do I believe that Higher Power has forgiven me for
everything I've done in the past, no matter how black it was, provided
I'm honestly trying to do the right thing today?

Strength

In
the past, we relied on our own strength to get us where we thought we
wanted to go. We were afraid, since deep down we knew how weak and
undependable our own strength really was.

When
we turn our lives over, we no longer have to go it alone. We have
tapped the limitless reservoir of strength provided by our Higher Power,
and when we are operating under His guidance we feel confident. What we
could not do ourselves can be done when we admit our weakness and ask
for help.

Through working the PA
program and through closer contact with our Higher Power, we may find
that we are going in a new direction. The things we thought we wanted
may turn out to be unnecessary, and we may have new goals. Wherever our
journey leads, we will have the strength we need, since it does not come
from ourselves but from a Power greater than ourselves.

I need Your strength, Higher Power.

Adapted From Food for Thought: Daily Meditations

MY BASICS: checking in; support calls(1x); affirmations; gratitudes; reading; check calendar AM; check calendar PM; write down my 6 most important tasks; voicemail; exercise; manage A; manage D; use "tracking time" sheet; use master list; use timer (check out instant boss application)

Affirmations (said aloud as well):

I choose to show up and start my top 6 tasks, 15 to 30 minutes at a time.

I set my mind to my top 6 tasks and I complete them -- in 15 to 30 minute periods.

And remember . . . if you've felt resistance or "screwed up" or procrastinated something lately, it's probably just the Dynamics of Human Change doing its checks & balances . . . keep going!

Journey 9 am

Happy Saturday! It's a beautiful day here. I was planning to get out early and get my grocery shopping done but my husband disrupted my schedule by telling me I have to stay here for the A/C repairman until noon, because he has to go into work unexpectedly. So, I figured I'd get the house cleaned up this morning and shop this afternoon. The kids are coming over for dinner tonight. So what have I been doing? Chatting on skype with my daughter and playing video games. I've been up for two hours already and got nothing done lol.

So here goes, I'm going to make my todo list for the day, call my mom and invite her to dinner (then I can skip my normal saturday mom visit), and then finish up my grocery list.

Have a productive and enjoyable weekend everyone!

Beginning again

I joined a few mths ago for about a week, and then "fell of the wagon".  Here I am trying again.  It seems I do that in a lot of different areas of my life...start...stop..and then its take me a while to start again.  I also seem to get rebellioius/resistant/overwhelmed/confused and tired and all these things kind of contribute to keeping me stuck.

Anyhow I'm grateful for this site and for those things in my life that are constant even when I'm not.

So I'm kind of sad today...but will attempt to get some of the following things done, rather than numbing myself with online tv watching...which I realize has become a problem.

To do:

get up early  (was unplanned but good)

meditate

reach out for help (here, also unplanned but good)

1.write timeline

2.e-mail a timeline

3.e-mail a and f about employment

4.fill out employment paper and get ready to mail.

5.clean up

6.wash dishes

7.pay credit card bill

8.pay internet bill

9.go for a short walk

Even this feels overwhelming...but I'll aim to just get a few of these things done...i'll start with small things...bills.

S, my husband, didn't feel up to going out so I had to do the shopping on my own. The weather improved late afternoon so I decided I needed to get some exercise and went for a walk for an hour - I seriously need the exercise, but it also acted as a diversionary tactic from my list.  Then I fell asleep listening to the radio.  It feels as if even the act of writing down the things I need to do causes demand resistance.  Oh well, try again tomorrow.

yum!

Mmm Mmm! Lemon Meringue Pie!
