TGIF!

Started the day with a huge headache. Felt like sinuses.

Today's short list:
- try to finish slides for presentation so I don't have to do them on the weekend.
- physio before bed

BTW, I am only listing on my daily check lists those things that are outside of my regular work routine, because those are the only things I really have trouble with. The work place structure (and need for a pay cheque!) kind of forces me to toe the line at work :-)

TO-DO-LIST

hope4meandu day 33

Thanks lennon for staring us!!

Thank you Jo, FindingNewStrength & Katia for your replies yesterday. Didn't expect anyone to, so was blown away. I'm currently in the process of processing.....LOL...appreciate your support, kind words and feedback. Katia, I'm so, so, so very sorry......I'm thankful you shared and that Connor is doing better!!

Didn't go into work again today. All I can do is be responsible on Monday & say sorry, this will be a great opportunity to get beaten up....whatever.

Went last night to find snowy. At least I know the block we live doesn't go on forever, so it's a limited area to find him. I feel so immoblized, and have done nothing but sleep, watch tv and send resumes. Didn't even want to come here, but because I knew I had to check in with day count.

I feel like my process here is on the slowest speed ever and I'm embarrassed at myself. Just need to stay food abstinent while getting through this drama-filled ugly time.

To do:
-make dinner
-set table

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!!!

READING FOR DAY

Heaven never helps the men who will not act.
—Sophocles

Growing into wholeness is a journey into greater responsibility for
our lives. We have choices to make every day. Taking responsibility
means choosing between the options we have and then accepting the
consequences.

Sometimes both choices are undesirable, but we have to
choose anyway. Do I expect to be perfect in my choices? Do I demand that
someone else take responsibility for me? Do I defiantly refuse to
accept the options I have?

This program seems like a paradox- the First Step asks us to accept our
powerlessness, then we are expected to go on and stop being passive in
our lives.

The Serenity Prayer speaks to us about this dilemma. We ask
for the serenity to accept what we cannot change and the courage to
change what we can.

Fully admitting our powerlessness sheds a burden and
frees us to go on from there, actively doing what we can.

If something is awaiting my action today, may I have the courage to move forward with it. Even small movement is progress.

From Touchstones: A Book of Daily Meditations

BASICS:

MY BASICS: checking in; support calls (1x); affirmations; gratitudes; reading; check calendar; email my 6 most important tasks; voicemail;
exercise #1 (ran 4 1/2 miles); manage A; manage D; use "tracking time"/unschedule worksheets and timer

Affirmations (said aloud as well):

I choose to show up and start my projects, 15 minutes at a time.

I set my mind to things and I complete them -- in 30 minute periods.

Journey 10:40

Got to the gym at 6:45 again this morning, but again made it to work on time.   Next week I'll try to be earlier, since I'll be back in the habit of morning exercise.   I've been lucky that traffic has been on my side this week and I haven't been late to work.

I have my todo list made, and I'm not excited about anything on the list but as my mom used to say 'if it was fun, they wouldn't have to pay you to do it'.   I do like my job though, so I can't complain too much.   Taking a short break, then I'll review everything for this weekend's install.   I think I should have the next two weekends off, so that will be good.   My daughter is moving out (again) on the 10th, so I'm sure I'll be helping her some over that weekend.

I feel a bit guilty but I'm really looking forward to her moving out again.   I'll miss her of course but I kind of liked being an empty nester.   My house stayed very clean!  And she will only be a couple of hours away, so I can see her a lot.

I haven't reached my goal but I am very tired today, drained even. Any work is a triumph. I started late and it is now 7pm so I refuse to give myself a hard time. I will call it a day now and get an early night, start fresh tomorrow.

Scribbler's End of the Week 8:40 a.m.

Yesterday's show turned out reasonably well. I was correct in being concerned about the lack of rehearsal, and turned in a performance with more than the usual quantity of forgotten lyrics, jangling dissonances and lackadaisical singing. But I got through it, received some positive feedback and made some money. Otherwise, I checked off every task yesterday. I feel good about that, and hope to do likewise today. Onward...

Today

It has been eight (8)months since I checked-in. Occassionally, I will continuiousy check in for a few weeks then something occurs and I'd cease. It has been (3)three years (43) fourty-three days since I became a member. Becoming a member enabled me to understand myself better, by looking back, without literally going back. The change is necessary for the future. The fisrt thought is how I can openly give to others, but avoid myself. This isn't so strange to conclude, because when I review the prior check-ins, it is clear what was going on. Therefore, becoming a member has certainly been a blessing. Changes begins today.

Thank you for sharing this, missyi

Cool

((Missy))
