Edge's ci - 11:15pm

Didn't do much today aside from taking flox1, having lunch with my family ( which I had originally planned on trying to skip like I usually do but I'm glad I didn't), and going shopping with my sister (which I also usually avoid). Been trying to get rid of a migraine since this morning and failing, the pain killers are barely dulling it. Not looking forward to work tommorrow. Just going to take flox2 and try to sleep. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Yesterday was a bad day. I had so much running around that I couldn't focus on any one task.

And I'm really exhausted b/c I did volunteer tax prep this morning.

OK, so I think I need to set my sights low today,  but at least make a little progress:
*Check on expt, spec samples
*Science res + one other journal
*1 hr on proposal
*email to rko

READING:

In soloing--as in other activities--it is far easier to start something than it is to finish it.  —Amelia Earhart

Procrastination plagues us all, at one time or another. But any activity that is worthy
of our effort should be tackled by bits and pieces, one day at a time.
We are too easily overwhelmed when we set our sights only on the
accomplished goal. We need to focus, instead, on the individual elements
and then on just one element at a time. A book is written word-by-word.
A house is built timber-by-timber. A college degree is attained
course-by-course.

By the time we got to this program, most of us
had accumulated a checkered past, much of which we wanted to deny or
forget. And the weight of our past can stand in the way of the many
possibilities in the present.

Our past need not determine what we
set out to do today. However, we must be realistic: We can't change a
behavior pattern overnight. But we can begin the process. We can decide
on a reasonable, manageable objective for this 24-hour period. Enough
days committed to the completion of enough small objectives will bring
us to the attainment of any goal, large or small.

I can finish any task I set my sights on, when I take it one day at a time. Today is
before me. I can move forward in a small way.

From Each Day a New Beginning: Daily Meditations

X- tai chi and coffee (now)

X- farmer's market (veggies) back by 1

Well. Back by 2. Which means, I really have to jam.

-- wash kitchen floor now, while there is light in there to see by!

-- laundry (lots) before 2:30   try for before 4pm. That would be decent.

-- dishes (not too many) included (try for before kitchen floor?)

-- vacuuming

-- install new software on new computer

-- migrate some files to new computer from time machine

OK Go

(Phone rang this morning. Got late start, but glad I talked to people)

I am not doing very well. I'm overwhelmed and sort of hyperventilating.

I see ALL MESS everywhere. I see piles of things that must be attended to. I see nothing but hours of work. I pick things up and set them down again.

I suppose I should get some of this junk out of my house. Maybe just one box to the thrift store would jumpstart me. And take the bag of keys to my friend the collagist. And maybe if I moved those chairs back up to the roof so my hall was clear.

See! I am overwhelmed. Blech.

I guess you're not supposed to show progress in a comment. Oops.

The day turned out okay. I can see the bone structure of my apt again. 4 out of six on the above list are done. It won't take much to get this really whipped into shape tomorrow. And I have motivation and no conflicts. So.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Saturday with the Scribbler

I'm trying something a little different today, checking in on the weekend. I've been doing well during the week getting work-work done, but in the evening I've been mostly just lying around reading and watching TV and playing guitar, maybe writing a song. So things are getting run down around the house. I'm going to try to be more productive today.

Show up (done) Thanks for starte Lennon, one more day of showing up. Showing up no matter what seems more "normal" that the other way, but it is still not automatic , grateful for PA (ERs) or  else I could not do it.

Seaching for more improvements. Because of a co-sponsor in pa and my hp I was able to develop a calender that works for me (after 6 yrs of trial and error-not perfect but it is reliable that I will look at it). Now want to improve my "participation" in life and learn how to deal with unhealthy items.  Trying A 15 MIN, CHECKLIST. The awareness helps as well as looking only at 15 minutes.
