This is the 24th day that I have followed through with the following:
I'm making a pledge to quit using the dating site(s) and Facebook for
90 days. I had written this on my 43things account, but I wrote that I
wanted to avoid dating sites for a full six months, so I think 90 days
is reasonable for a dating site. I also have a penchant for looking at
and stalking certain people repeatedly on the dating website and online,
which has prevented me from sanity. Just all out stalking certain
people has been all out crazy; if I'm not stalking one person, it's
another person. During times I've tried to quit the dating site before, I
have visited people's dating profiles, even while not registered on the
dating site. So part of my whole thing with quitting dating sites is
also quitting stalking people's profiles that I've tried to date in the
past. If I accidentally load a dating site, b/c I accidentally clicked
on something obviously that doesn't count. You can hardly hang a cat on
the Internet without hitting a dating site ad. Intention is
everything.
In other words:
90 days away from dating sites and facebook
90 days of not stalking people's profiles of people I've tried to date in the past
and I'd like to add: 90 days of not stalking people online that
I've tried to
date in the past, which includes trying to IM them. (I am now back on
day 6 for this as friday 02/04 I went on linkedin and checked out the profile
of a person whom I had as a co-worker, on whom I had a crush/obsession
about).
56 days of exercise: I'm on day 5 for this. All I need to do is
exercise for 30 minutes a day: walking, swimming, hiking, biking,
running, jogging, karate, yoga, a dance class. Anything of those for at
least 30 minutes. And nothing else. I can do the running plan, but I
assure myself that each day that I show up to run, I will be okay, if
all I do is ultimately choose to walk. Whatever I feel comfortable with
when I do. That way I don't intimidate myself.

Went to a meeting this morning (got up at 6 am) so I'm checking in now. Very Tired!
I was supposed to go door to door to canvass for our upcoming federal election>I'm in Canada where we currently have a minority government so the Prime Minister could call a snap election. It was cancelled so I have about 4 more hours of time I can devote to more productive work.
I posted my check-ins in the wrong place the past two days.
I spent most of yesterday doing something that was not on my list, however, my work put me in the good books of some of the higher-ups in my (political) party and could pay off in the fall.
What I plan to accomplish today:
Afternoon
Finish and email one query for a magazine.
Phone TI (political contact) to remind him to send his reply so we have a new president and our association will no longer be dysfunctional.
Update and email letter to send to City Hall bureaucrats.
Pay MC & Visa on-line.
Evening
email contacts I met today and connect with them on LinkedIn
Call volunteer for Editors Association
Search for temp jobs and contracts (no longer than one hour).
Finish volunteer newsletter for professional association.
When
you are tempted to procrastinate, stop and make contact with
another PA member. If you cannot bring yourself to make the call, or if
you make it and still want to procrastinate, then try writing.
Before
you procrastinate, write down exactly how you are feeling, what you
think the extra procrastination will do for you, what the likely result will be,
and how you will feel an hour later. It is a good idea to keep a pad of
paper handy in the office, near the computer, near the kitchen; you can grab a pencil instead of procrastinating.
Often
the process of writing down exactly how you are feeling will reveal the
hidden emotions which are masquerading as distraction, anxiety or a need to do a different task and a desire to procrastinate.
You may discover that you are angry, or fearful, or lonely. Write the
feelings and write the consequences of procrastinating because of them.
Grant me insight, Lord, and self-understanding.

Got up at 4:45 a.m. Worked for 2 hours in the morning from 5 to 7 am -- then got kids ready for school. Then from 8 to 9 am on a new matter. Misc from 9 am to 9:30.
Keeping track of my time on my billing worksheet for day.
Checking in a little bit late this morning. Though I have been working, which is a good change! :)
I have an important writing task to complete today. This typically elicits lots of anxiety and procrastination. I've been talking nicely to myself and attempting to drop all expectations. Doing everything in my power to be non judgemental and positive. I came accross this quote from one of my favorite authors and it made me smile.
“I write one page of masterpiece to ninety-one pages of s%*!,” Hemingway confided to F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1934. “I try to put the s#*! in the wastebasket.”
I'm just focused on getting this done s#*! or not! LOL!
Scheduled: lunch 12:30-1ish, class 3-5, dinner for interviewees 6-9, bible study 9-11

Thanks lennon for starting us today!! YAY Scribbler, so glad you are here!!
Yoffee is doing better now (thank YOU HP) then she has in the last 2 years. Now my fears, anxieties and worries are how to keep it this way.
Last night I only worked out, but at least!!?? I think I know what recovery will look like with this nasty, stupid, life-sucking disease -- when I consistently keep my house clean (not perfect) but consistent.
Turning over all the things that am not doing:
-close out Citibank account & pay off money owed
-go to CVS
-go to ENT
-go to lab to get mamm, thyroid & fibroids pictures
-cleaning bird cage
-getting bird food
-Yoffee bath
Thanks to everybody for reading and posting. Nameless and faceless as you are, you have helped me enormously to make meaningful changes in my life. You are much appreciated.
Well, we had to buy a new refrigerator last night. The repairman said the old one couldn't be fixed, or well, it could be fixed but it would cost more than a new one. I was upset and frustrated over this yesterday so I didn't get as much work done as I would have liked, but I did a reasonable amount of work considering the situation.
The good news is that I am working from home again today to take delivery of the new refrigerator. I'm skipping gym this morning so that I can clean out the old fridge. Trying to be positive about it - although we had to charge the new fridge, I'm grateful that we can go out and buy what we need and that I live in a place where food is plentiful and we have appliances like dishwashers and refrigerators. For many people in the world, that would be unimaginable luxury. Although I feel a bit deprived because this fridge doesn't have filtered water and an ice dispenser in the door like my old one did lol. We will actually have to open the freezer door to get ice out of the ice maker. Geez, life is tough.
Anyway, I'm fixin' to shake myself out of the doldrums, get dressed, make my todo list, and then tackle that fridge. I have a good bit of work to do today too, since part of yesterday was taken up with refrigerator issues.
See ya later.
