Findingaway check in

10.15 Wednesday

Thanks for the starter lennon.

  • ring SS
  • get bank stuff ready
  • drive to Melbourne
  • go to counselling with my husband
  • go shopping or have free time
  • visit my friend

Hoping the counselling makes a difference. Things are pretty bad and it's very hard to focus on work tasks. Will try to trust in hp.

Scribbler's Tuesday CI 1 p.m.

I'm a trifle late with this check-in, although I've already accomplished
several tasks today. I got distracted very early noodling around on the
Internet looking for a free 5k training program. I was thinking of
doing a 10K, but the mileage is just too high. I'm bound to get injured,
or at the very least to hate it. I'll be much happier training to beat
my personal best in the 5K. Anyway, off to it....

Prep

  • get up at 6
  • make bed
  • exercise
  • sweeps
  • coffee, paper
  • healthy breakfast
  • checkins

Morning

  • Update Quicken
  • Deliver meals on wheels

Afternoon

  • Healthy lunch
  • send query
  • Music marketing - send 5 emails
  • Call 2 re: discrimination -- EEOC, atty
  • Call 1 re: cruise
  • Call 2 re: homelow
  • Do 1 BN - FB myths
  • call 1 re: investors - Feldman
  • Call Lonestar re: hearing
  • Do 2 CIO
  • C/o JH, CIO checks
Once again I checked off every task on today's list. And it's only a few minutes after 5 here. I guess I could put more on there, but it feels so great to get them all done that I'm reluctant to risk overloading myself. Also, this is a pretty good and ambitious list of tasks. If I can do all this every day, I should be in good shape, whether or not it represents anything close to my theoretical maximum prdouctivity. Now I'm going to go move some wood and rehearse a new song.

Evening

  • Move wood to back
  • Healthy dinner
  • Song doctor
  • Read, relax
  • Bed by 10:30

Mediabat 11.32 AM

  • PLAN RESUME WRITING

READINGs FOR DAY:

#1

When I look back on all these
worries I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed
that he had had a lot of trouble in his life, most of which never
happened.

  —Winston Churchill

A rolled-up ball of yarn does not take up much space - it sits, ready to
be used when needed. It gets unrolled a little bit at a time - just as
much as is needed and no more. But a ball of yarn that gets unraveled
can be strewn across an entire room. It becomes a jumbled mass,
entangled and confusing.

When we live our lives a day at a time, we are
like that rolled-up ball of yarn. Our thoughts, feelings, and skills are
ready to be used as they are needed. But when we worry, our spirit
becomes a jumbled mass of yarn. We get ahead of and behind ourselves -
our thoughts are scattered and often our feelings are confused. Worry
adds clutter and confusion to life.

What is most helpful is to put the worry away--to
roll up the ball of yarn and bring ourselves into the present moment.
In this way, we stand ready for each new stitch--and we will never be
given more than we are able to handle.

Do I have worries that are cluttering my life today?

Small Decisions

We live this program one day at a time, one meal at a time. Throughout
each day, we make many small decisions one at a time. We may often be
tempted to procrastinate for some unspecified amount of time (to browse on the Internet or a social network),  to not bookend our tasks or just start working on something or starting a diversionary task or mental activity rather than setting a timer and planning it exactly, or we may be tempted to include a problem activity in
our daily plan -- even when it has caused us to procratinate before.

Each time we decide not to start the diversionary activity or problem procrastinating activity, each time we work with a timer or bookend our tasks, each time we decide to avoid the problem activity that can lead to procrastination, we become
stronger. The next wise decision becomes easier to make.

One wrong decision does not have to ruin an entire day. None of us is
perfect. We can learn to accept the fact of a mistake and move on to the
next decision, which needs to be made. We can let our Higher Power
total up our score and be the judge of how well we work the program. Our
job is to work it, and at every moment we are free to decide wisely.

I pray for wisdom to make the right decisions.

hope4meandu day 8

Hi All,

Thanks lennon for starting us!!

Yoffee's Dr. is mildly hopeful she can come home today, should know soon. Prayers are definetly appreciated and I know you all have prayed for her so many times before, probably sick of it. She has gone through too many bad times. Thank HP the hospital and staff are so good, and that's a true and a real blessing, she's been through horrid stuff at other places.

Went from work yesterday to see her, so the best I can do is show up here and at work. Thank HP & this group, that I am. Also, sending resumes, thankfully. Pls HP, if it's your will, only, may I work with dogs/animals.

Kindest prayers to you all today!!

Journey 10 am

Well, the bad news is that I got to the gym at 6:35, then traffic was horrid so I was late to work.  (but so is most everyone else - there was a giant accident on the freeway).   The good news?   I mailed the request for the documents I need to change my name on my social security card.   I've been putting this off for MONTHs.   Actually, I've been putting it off for YEARS but for months I've actually been trying to get it done.        So, even though I ran late this morning, I feel like I'm ahead because I've finally tackled this task that I've been stuggling with for so long.

Off to finish todo list, which I actually started yesterday afternoon woot.   Coffee, then work on getting stuff ready for this weekend.   I have on-call duty again this week :(, but then I'm taking a couple days off next week. :).

Journey 1 pm frustrated & update

grrrr the schedule is all changed for this weekend - gotta regroup.   Deep breath.  NO problem, I just have to cancel one activity and do another one, same amount of work, but I don't handle these kinds of changes well.   Or, that is, I USED to have trouble handling these changes, but now I come here and vent about it instead of falling into a hole right?  I'm going into my todo list and I will adjust my plans for today and take the change in stride.

Thanks for being here <3

Update 5:15 AND after coming here, I was able to rework my todo list for the day to account for the changes and I just checked off the final work task.  Woot!  100% for today, workwise.  Now I have a couple of errand and chores to do tonight and maybe I can check off all the personal items too!
