I want to crack the presentation. I have 1 hour and a half to do a version. I told people I would have it today.
I should have done more, but this day has been very confusing. Lots of loose ends. I didn't make an attempt to focus, at all...
I suppose I should take those things to the dry cleaners and do laundry too. Why didn't I do any of it?
I don't feel very grounded about this right now.
Very off track. Very late.
I physically feel achey and sleepy. So maybe that's my main obstacle.
I suppose I have til 9 pm to do a load of laundry. And I can take dry cleaning tomorrow morning.
My main priority is to do the presentation. And call my mom.
Aaargh!

Findingaway Check in
11.00 am Tuesday
Struggling a bit today. I am procrastinating on going to bed, then I'm tired the next day or don't get going till late. Feeling anxious about having my husband over tonight (we have been having a separation) and going to counselling tomorrow. Feeling guilty about taking 'work' time out to do this stuff, even though it's obviously important. Trying to be gentle on myself, so did my meditiaton and bike ride even though I was late up.
Work:
*
ring EK*
ring SS* plant ID- some done, took longer than planned
* wrap up K triangles project if time
*
send invoice*
bank cheque, ask for change of appt timeHome:

*
cook dinner
Checking in
My check-in earlier didn't work. I will take time getting used to this.
I took much longer to do things this morning. I have searched all the job boards and except for Craiglist, which takes about 5 minutes, I will not search them again until next Sunday. This has been a big time waster.
I applied for 4 jobs this morning.
Rest of day:
Apply for jobs at Prostate Canada, Learning Partmership and We Care.
Phone friend to see movie.
Do 4 to 5 k run (around 4:30)
If we don't see movie, my plans for this evening include:
Wash several days worth of dishes
Finish newspapers and recycle
Spend 2 hours writing a volunteer association newsletter
Figure out how to archive old newsletters
I may be able to one or more of the above even if I take a break and see the movie.

Good to see you made it to the daily forum! Keep coming back!

MY BASICS:
checking in; 3 calls (1x);affirmation;gratitudes; reading;check calendar; plan to plan; email my 3 most important tasks;voicemail; billing from prior day/declutter prior day's email; exerciseAbstinence Is Freedom
I the beginning, when we first practice abstinence, we may look at it as
restriction, limitation, or denial. We don't like the word, we don't
like giving up our favorite activities, we don't like having a "to do" list or planning our day and writing down our planned activities or top 3 most important activitites or tasks. We sometimes decide to abstain grudgingly,
considering it punishment for past indulgences and bitter medicine for
our disease.
Let's remember that what we are giving up is anxiety, guilt, lethargy, and the uncontrolled craving
for more and more procrastination. Not to abstain is to remain a slave to compulsive
procrastination. Before PA, we were not free. We were prisoners of our
compulsion.
Abstinence is not negative denial. It is positive freedom from the obsession with procrastination and compulsive thinking and
the debilitating effects of procrastinating. Through abstinence we become
free to live active, interesting, satisfying lives. We are able to work
and love and serve and enjoy in ways, which were unknown to us before.
When we choose to abstain, we choose freedom.
Thank you, Lord, for freedom.

P.A. Thought for the Day
A
nightclub crowded with men and women all dressed up in evening clothes
looks like a very gay place. But you should see the men's room of that
nightclub the next morning. What a mess! People have been sick all over
the place and does it smell! The glamour of the night before is all gone
and only the stink of the morning after is left. Doesn't a similar thing happen when we procrastinate instead of drink?
What happens when we leave our desk filled with papers and half finished assignments or projects? We leave them there for a more stimulating activity or one that we use to procrastinate (Internet surfing, reading, other mental or task diversions). How do we feel when we look at our desk or list of uncompleted projects the next day?
In P.A., we learn to
take a long view of procrastinating instead of a short view. We learn to think
less about the pleasure of the moment and more about the consequences.
Has the day before become less important to me and the morning after
more important?

hope4meandu day 7
Hi All,
Thanks mediabat for start!! Didn't check in here yesterday, but still saying I'm abstinent. Yoffee went to the hospital with bacterial pneumonia. Depressed, but/and showed up at work today. My husband and I had numerous fights yesterday, mainly my fault. I apologized last night, but...
Wasn't going to show up at the audition yesterday, but it was good I didn't so I could take Yoffee to the hospital. The expenses are going on our credit cards...depressing.
Tonight I don't have hopes of doing much and only worked out once last week, as I seem to like to wallow in misery.
Tonight:
-
resumes-hopefully Yoffee can come home today
-clean bird cage?
-workout?
Wishing you all safe and happy travels today!!

No probs
((hope4meandu))
Sending up prayers for you and Yoffee. It's so hard to concentrate when one you care about is ill. I'll pray for a speedy recovery.
(((CB))) Thanks so much for your prayers!!!
They think it's bachterial pneumonia and r doing a wash now. The Dr. is midly hopeful she'll come home today. Thank you so much, your prayers are being heard!!! ((BIG HUGS))

Crazybug i have also learned that beating myself up doesnt work. In fact it makes me give less to my family and my employer. Better to do like you said and make a conscious choice right now to do the best i can from this point forward.
Thanks for the inspiration this morning! (i really needed it.)
chat here, then onto my plan.

Scribbler's Tuesday CI 1 p.m.
I'm a trifle late with this check-in, although I've already accomplished several tasks today. I got distracted very early noodling around on the Internet looking for a free 5k training program. I was thinking of doing a 10K, but the mileage is just too high. I'm bound to get injured, or at the very least to hate it. I'll be much happier training to beat my personal best in the 5K. Anyway, off to it....

Have gotten off to a poor start today. I'm determined not to let it continue that way for the rest of my day. I was given a 'break' today on a pressing afternoon deadline. What did I do? Go to work on the project so it could be finished by the next deadline? No. I procrastinated. Urg!!!
But, I am learning that beating myself up doesn't work. I made a bad choice. But, consciously I'm aware that each moment I have the power to make a better choice. A choice that leads to positive outcomes.
Going to step away for a moment, make some tea and regroup. Will probably go into chatbox to help stay focused.
Blessings to all today!
