saturday from tracy-la

Hi Everyone,

Checking in.  Went to a spinning class last night after work and that was great. By going to the 6:30 pm class, I used the time from 5:30 pm on to clean my office. Having that structure was great. And I loved the class. Gym was busy -- it's large but it was nice seeing the diverse mix of people all there (probably would have annoyed me in years past to see so many people...but I looked at it differently this time).

Reading for the Day

Slips

Each time we give in to our addictive thinking and go off the program, it is
just as hard to get back on as when we first began. If we forget that we
are compulsive procrastinators and think that we can handle a little extra TV time or Internet surfing  time like a "normal" person, we are deceiving ourselves. For us, one
extra period of procrastination leads to another, and we begin to slide downhill
back into despair.

The longer we wait to get back on abstinence,
the harder it becomes. If we slip, we sometimes feel that since we
haven't been perfect we might as well go ahead and procrastinate a lot, since we
have blown our plan or schedule anyway. When we do this, we punish ourselves.

If
a slip occurs, we need to put it behind us. It is over and done. We
cannot undo it, but we can at this moment stop procrastinating and start
abstaining again. We do not need to wait until another day. Every moment
we have the choice of abstaining or procrastinating. Which do you choose
right now?

May I choose to abstain now and always.

Adapted From Food for Thought: Daily Meditations

Meditation for the Day

I
will relax and not get tense. I will have no fear, because everything
will work out in the end. I will learn soul-balance and poise in a
vacillating, changing world. I will claim God's power and use it because
if I do not use it, it will be withdrawn. As long as I get back to God
and replenish my strength after each task, no work can be too much.

Prayer for the Day

I
pray that I may relax and that God's strength will be given to me. I
pray that I may subject my will to God's will and be free from all
tenseness.

My basics:

Plan to plan (wrote it out); Gratitudes/Affirmations; 3 calls to different people (2x done); Exercise; Checked calendar for day/week/rest of month;bill for prior day

Journey 10:00 am

Good morning!   I gotta brave the ice and snow again today and head downtown for a Toastmasters thing.   I'm going to do a short yoga stretch, have quiet time, straighten the living room, then get back out on the road.   The roads are better today, it's actually going to be 40 degrees this afternoon and supposedly the city is ready for the Hawks game tonight so a lot of cleanup has taken place.

After the conference, I have two errands to run, then I'll pick up dinner, do some dishes/laundry and then chill the rest of the evening.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Jo
