friday from tracy-la
Good day everyone,
Checking in. Just joined a gym across the street from my office. (Of course I already belong to one near my house, but I need it to be right next to work too.) I am pretty good about running but thought that having an option for dark mornings or rainy days would help me get into the office early. I get up early but doesn't mean I get out of the house early. Also it stays open late till 11 pm so I can go after work too or during a needed break. Exercise really helps me so much.
My early morning day didn't work today since I went to bed too late. Usually I am an early riser 5 to 6 am but didn't happen today since I went to bed too late. But a goal is to get in there at 6 am several days a week. For me the saying "move a muscle, change a thought" really works -- whether it's going to the gym or just getting in the car and going to work.
Reading for the day (which I read outloud):
Willing to Go to Any Lengths
To achieve success in this program, we are willing to go to any
lengths. We want to stop procrastinating compulsively more than anything else. We
are willing to take the steps, which led to success for hundreds of
others who have gone before us.
When we put abstinence first in
our lives, then we are willing to experience periods of anxiety, stress, moodiness, sleeplessness, boredom and other emotions as our mind and bodies adjust to our new plans and habits. We
are willing to confront what we want or need to do and not avoid it.
In times of
stress and difficulty, we are willing to go to any lengths to stay on
our program. This may involve going to extra meetings, making more phone
calls, spending more time reading the literature and meditating.
Whatever it takes to keep us abstinent is what we are willing to do.
Most important, we are willing to turn our lives over to the care of
God, as each of us understands Him. As we let ourselves be led
hour-by-hour and day-by-day, our lives fall into place, and we are given
inner joy and serenity.
I pray that I may always be willing.
Here are some questions for myself on this issue of willingness:
How is MY WAY working for me?
If what I have is not working for me, can I get honest and set aside the “I know” mind. I am a wonderful know-it-all . . . but what do I really know about the recovery from compulsive procrastination or how it can be accomplished one day at a time?
The Set Aside Prayer:
God…or Reality (what is), please allow
me to set aside everything I think I know about myself, my life, others,
my spiritual path, and especially about You, for an open mind and a new
experience of myself, my life, others, my spiritual path, and
especially of You.

Journey 10 am & updates
I braved the ice and snow to make it in to the office today. No exercise because I figured it would be a long commute, which it was. I'll also leave early to beat the freeze over which will occur this evening, so it's a short day, but I figured it would be a good thing to actually show my shining face in the office today. So, let's see how much work we can get done in 6 hours. Here goes! making todo list now, but my main goal today is to complete an install on my top priority project.
Update 2:30 The install is complete. Now I will do some admin stuff for an hour.
