Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
It's a lovely sunny 90 degrees here in L.A. I checked in earlier but forgot to post and it got deleted when the browser closed. So here goes again...
My daily plan:
1. Check in - show up - reading material - Done
2. Check calendar for today and tomorrow - Done
3. Plan to plan - Done
4. Gratitude - Done prayer and list
5 things I'm grateful for today: 1. got quoted in L.A. Times yesteray showing expertise in field with nice feedback from friends and colleagues; 2. gave good speech yesterday to people in my field & got 4 hours of continuing education credit too; 3. had a great 1 hour run today; 4. got great thank you voicemail from appreciative colleague who I helped for an hour the other day for free and he said it made all the difference for him and his client; 5. went to mammogram appt on time & followed through in going there since it had been 3 years and that's a great sign of taking care of myself.
This gratitude is so necessary for me since none of these things address my backlog of admin work or pay the bills immediately or are "productive" at the time and I need to be grateful for them since I was questioning myself and asking myself about the value of spending the hour on the phone giving a free consultation, educating a journalist or giving a 1 1/2 hour speech and traveling 3 hours round trip for it thereby losing a day of work given the prep time I had to spend as well.
Showing gratitude: (1) sent a thank you email to person who wrote me a nice note; (2) sent email to friend whose father had passed away; (3) card to significant other.
4. Exercise - 1 hour run - Done (want to stretch too later) - adding this as a must (even if it's just for 15 minutes or 5 minutes). My mood is so dependent on it :) and I've been a runner my entire life.
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, worry about a thing, oh!
Every little thing gonna be all right. Don't worry!"
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing" - I won't worry!
"'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."
Last time I tried to "be happy" I crashed, so now I try to be pleasant and say every little thing gonna be alright.
Thanks for being here, Still plugging away, slowly.
Good morning all and wish you all a productive day
Here an old favorite by Emily Dickinson:
I had no time to
hate, because
The grave would hinder me,
And life was not so ample I
Could finish enmity.
Nor had I time
to love; but since
Some industry must be,
The little toil of love, I thought,
Was large enough for me.
the plan for today:
6h00-8h00
checkin*
plan day*
prepare waffle batter for hubby birthday*
dress up
routine barn chores
laundry load*
breakfast
8h00-10h00
checkin
pick cukes for Y, vegs for hub birthday supper and other veggies for neighbours
errands:
stop at Y to drop cukes
wine at coop
pork ribs and feed at Frank
tattoo gears at Jeff; he was busy with silage, so betterluck next time!
10h00-12h00
checkin
so, there will be a bit of change on the program since I am running late and the new barn arrangement does not work...so barn cleaning and shuffling instead of pickling
12h00-14h00
lunch
barn shuffling
14h00-18h00
checkin at 17h00 instead of 14h00.
Life in the country...after stops at Y and then FC, the 2h00 run turned into 5h00 but free meat and free lunch and two hours convo in front of the food channel, plus tomatoes canning tips which will save me hours. Note to self...it never takes 5 minutes when I do errands around, plan more time. Weather is not looking good for bonfire, too windy.
edit cover letter and have J review it
update resume
add one section to techn bulletin
18h00-22h00
checkin
routine barn chores
shower
prepare birthday supper for hubby (roasted potatoes, ribs, gingered carrots, cukes salad and pear tarte tatin)
if weather allows birthday bonfire, if not, whatever hubby wanna do
Laptop is dying, so not sure how long I have before it actually kicks the bucket. Going to switch to regular handwritten to-dos, just in case, but will try to check in here every so often to keep online updates of my progress.
So far day kicking off to a good start, prepped some class material, had healthy breakfast, took morning meds and now going to start getting ready for uni.
Hope everyone has a productive day today :*
