Agnus checking in 1pm

Hi group!  First day back from a 12 day trip. Thanks to vic and others who encouraged me during the start of this trip which was pretty darn rocky.  After $1300 for camper a/c, $100 laptop power cord (forgot to pack mine) and $300 for a new pda (mine died 3 days into the trip, with major business pending of course), I finally got calmed down and reconnected by last Tuesday.

We had good family visits, punctuated by 2 days of wall-to-wall business meetings for me, then an outstanding family camp-cookout followed by a fairly relaxing 3-day trip to J's med appt yesterday. Fairly non-scary report, but an icky procedure next month (3 hour drive each way) so that will require another trip. No time to procrastinate!

There were TONS of examples of Higher Power doing for me what I could not do for myself, working through His friends, especially when I asked for help in prayer and in person.  Amazing lessons, some tough, all inspiring "keepers," I hope.

DONE since 6pm yesterday (needing to 'grat meself!): brought 6 bags of gear and food in from camper and put everything away, washed dishes, swiped floors (camper and house), made dinner, planned and prepped food for the rest of the week, did pet care, opened and sorted mail and newspapers, returned a few calls and emails, listened to half of an OA phone meeting, slept 6 hours, sponsor and sponsee contacts, 1 hour of Step 11 pray/med and read/write, had my breakfast and tea, morning pet care, made a plan du jour for me and for J, 4 work calls, disagreed agreeably with an election campaigner who knocked at my door, watered the plants, made J's breakfast, medicated J, checked in to PA, and did some 12th Step. Whew!

Today's plan may be overly ambitious (it usually is!) but here 'tis:

  • WORK:
    • Meeting notes with next steps
    • emails
    • timecards
    • expenses
    • webinar debrief
    • schedule action items
  • HOUSEHOLD:
    • get J up, fed, meds
    • my lunch
    • empty holding tanks
    • park camper in backyard
    • plan remaining camper cleanout, fixes
    • AKC
    • bills and filing
    • call yard guy
  • HOPE-TO's:
    • sewing class (probably not realistic given what time it is already)
    • phone meeting
    • bed by 10, read a little George McDonald
    • sleep 7.5 hours
    • wake willing to go to the gym (prayers welcome, lol!)

Welcome back ((Agnus))

Wow, major accomplishing yesterday!!

Slow going

11:44 AM: Despite a very late start yesterday, managed to stay caught up with new incoming work. Delayed work didn't get any attention, though. Slow getting started today, but there are plenty of hours left in the day. So, here is the plan:

11:50 AM - 1:50 PM: 6 new reports in 2 hours (other than really complicated cases, this seems to be a reasonable production rate for me. The main issues are getting started, and not getting off track)

Back then to report.

Oops! Just realized that won't work due to a scheduled meeting at 1 PM.

Okay, here is revised version.

Goal 1: 11:55 AM - 12:55 PM: 3 new reports in 1 hour

Darn! Derailed by a call from my lawyer. Guess it will have to wait until after the 1 PM meeting.

4:38 PM: Finding myself in roughly the same situation as yesterday, late in the day and only getting started. Yes, did attend two meetings, but no progress on case analysis and reporting. Feeling bored and unmotivated. Okay, down to it for awhile.

Goal: 4:45 - 6:45 PM: 6 new cases in 2 hours

9:13 PM: Quite the time underestimate, but they are done!

Scribbler's Wednesday CI

Fixed new guitar by wedging a piece of rubber band into the battery holder. Hope everything else is equally quick and easy.  Today:

Prep

  • get up at 7 (not hardly, slept until 9 after staying out and up too late)
  • coffee, paper, water plants
  • healthy breakfast
  • checkins

Morning

  • Query
  • Update CP db w/email data
  • Do 4 on CIO
  • Call 1 re: tabata

Afternoon

  • Healthy lunch
  • Do tabata intvw
  • File tabata
  • Lift weights or run
  • Practice setlist

Evening

  • Healthy dinner
  • Carousel gig
  • Relax, fun w/RB
  • Bed by 11

At some point soon I need to:

  • Compare bank statements to tax returns
  • get car oil changed
  • fix downstairs commode
  • get car insurance switched
  • Install porch drip rail
  • Do second BN test post
  • Clean off desktop
  • Research hunting class
  • Recycle transmission fluid
  • Install GFCI
  • Return Sony, Beamz
  • Activate new debit card
  • Balance checkbook
  • Order new toner cart
  • Put away camping stuff
  • Call agent about new car ins

I question the point of keeping that unscheduled to-do list active. It's so long now, it's hard to have any enthusiasm for attacking it. Maybe I'll try to do something on it today. Wow. That's long.

closed lists

I stopped making lists temporarily because i let them grow too long and the fed feelings of being overwhelmed; then i switched to 'done' lists, and looked at the idea of 'closed lists' in the Mark Foster books. Just my path...

re unscheduled todos

Whatever works for you, but personally I find it much more motivational to start with a fresh list every day and put only today's items on it.   Of course then you need a trusted system in which to keep those long term items so you don't forget them.

Journey 11 am

Late checkin this morning!  Went to the gym and the grocery store, got home in time to do some preparation for my 9 am meeting and had the meeting.    I had a nice breakfast including some fresh figs that my gym friend brought me!

Now I'm making todo list for the rest of the day.

'A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.' - Elbert Hubbard

Journey noon & updates

Finally posting the list for today at lunchtime lol.    I've tried just using my list in Remember the Milk but somehow putting it here forces me to make a more realistic list and stick to it:

  • Gym
  • Publix
  • Planning
  • Prepare for meeting with F.
  • Meet with F. about script
  • SA - check on request for Z.
  • Project Z - PPT
  • Project Z - continue to work on deliverables list
  • Project Z - prepare for tomorrow's meeting
  • Project Z - spreadsheet
  • T. Meeting
  • Project M Meeting
  • Fill up vitamins and N.S.
  • Put away clothes
  • Straighten car
  • Check
  • Find phone # for C.
  • Check for email from D.
  • Quiet time
  • HFS if time
  • Dinner
  • Dishes
  • Amazon
  • Prepare clothes for work and gym for Thurs/Fri
  • added: water plants and feed birds

Update 4:30.  I've slogged through a bunch of documentation and I think I have a clue what deliverables are needed for Project Z.  I don't understand what they mean, but at least I have the names of the things that are needed lol.  Now I can start figuring out how to produce them.

Now to work on preparing for tomorrow's meeting.  I'll do that in 20-30 minute chunks and do some chores between chunks.   Chunks and chores, here we go.

Yay, the horrid spreadsheet is done.  Boo, I've only received about 1/4 of the information I need, so in tomorrow's meeting I must be the bad guy, kick some ass, and take some names.   In the good news category, dinner is almost ready Tongue out

Gym arrival

Journey,

So did you make it to the gym before 6 a.m.?  I remember that you wanted to avoid meeting your pastor there!

re: gym arrival

I didn't quite get there before six but I was still early enough to avoid the pastor haha!

hope4meandu check-in (10:43AM)

Hi Guys,

Thanks Rexroth for the message today.

Last night I finished my volunteer project, thankfully, but of course, didn't make lunches or brush my teeth before bed.

I am realizing that this procrastinating thing is really stopping me and my life from growing.

My boss is away, so I'm spending too much time on me and the disease is feeling justified. So grateful that he's on vacation.

Today:
-shopping
-call A & ask a favor
-look on DA website
-look for recipes for sat & next week

Tonight:
-take girl for walk
-clean kitchen floor
-clean oven
-finish ML project
-dust living room & dining room
-workout for 10 minutes

Kind regards everyone for a non-procrastinating day!!

♥Prayers & guidance needed & appreciated for my Yoffee's healing.♥

Show up (done) Yesterday, after spinning my wheels for 2 days, I prayed, I got a call and this person gave me an idea that helped me get the job done. I was humble enough to ask for help and it came. (again)

Any decision to accept or reject reality does not change "what is and what is not" the truth. It is the belief about reality within the alcoholic which determines their free choice of action. (see pg 55).
