PA gives me hope . My new PA friends have helped me with my  nameless sense of being  unfit for reality. What a gift!!. Thanks for being here.

Agnus showing up

Actually been working some today but just checking in - no chance of my preferred "e-sabbath" b/c work poured in at 3pm Friday which must be done in ridiculously tight deadlines - on top of tight deadline projects already in progress...sigh. Our whole company is facing this right now so I'm not alone, but it's sad to lose family and personal time on a holiday weekend (here in the States it's a 3-day wknd).

Quick 10th Step: I am tired and resisting the 60-pg report I need to read for my next step. Also my food is off-kilter and I've not done a thing for my recovery program except check-in here and make 1 f2f meeting this morning. also there's a voicemail froma  sponsee but truly I don't even want to listen to it. That's pretty bad, isn't it?  These are danger signals. I commit here to making at least one phone call to a recovery friend today, and to writing down my food. Also I need to do a little prayer and meditation, even if it's only 2 minutes of each.

I'm off to chat to get through the next right thing(s) one step at a time...

Jules K CI - not as bad as it used to be...

Hello all - I've been improving in my willingness to do what is in front of me to be done.

I've had a repetition of old patterns the last 2 weeks however.  I was scheduled to make a fabric hanging for church (knew about it for 2 MONTHS, just presented the sketches 2 weeks ago...), and hey, it's Saturday, wanted it hung tomorrow, and guess what?  Still workin on it!

However my attitude has changed around this, and therefore I've been able to get more done, and it actually is possible to get it done today.  And I'm working at a calm comfortable pace, not sweating and crying over my sewing machine like I used to do!

Having this fellowship has helped immensely.  I also have a new motto:  Action precedes "figuring it all out."

I will check back in around 9 PM tonight.

 Thanks!

J

kromer 11:30 CI

Had a nice lazy morning and slept in a bit, had quiet time, checked on expts, now I'm in lab and am settling down to work for the day.

It's a pretty busy day. What I want to do is:

MITS:
*Work on VAD project (make overlap graphs, look for functional overlaps, make slides on work so far) (3-4 hours)
*Extract DNA and do purification (2 hours work, though actual protocol will take longer)
*Start Dmc1 expt (1 hr)
*30 min microburst on quals bg rough

Other tasks:
*2 hrs work organizing lab work
*Brainstorm high-throughput expts
*Email about phenome sets and about fluorescent plate reader
*Find dentist

*Plan for going forward on EA's project

OK, I'm starving now so I'm going to have lunch, then I'll start DNA extractions, then I'll work a bit on VAD project, then I'll start Dmc1 expt.

Scribbler May 29 checkin

Up at 5:30 a.m. today to take kids to swim meet. Not a lot else demanding my attention today, the first of a three-day weekend where I am. I have kids this weekend and may have dinner over here for my girlfriend this this evening. Otherwise, I'm more or less at loose ends. I could work on some important work projects I'm behind on. I've been reading a book between heats at the swim meet this morning in connection with that. I could also clean up a vehicle I'm going to sell. Anywhere, here's a sort-of list:

  • Get up, make coffee, take C to meet
  • Put up shade, watch first couple of events
  • Return home, do check-ins, feed B
  • Return to meet, watch other events, pack up stuff
  • Lunch
  • Call R re: dinner
  • Plan meal, buy groceries if needed
  • Clean up house
  • Clean up van, maybe 15 minute microburst
  • Cook dinner
  • Get to bed by 11 p.m.

Looks like a fairly full day, written down like that. And no doubt more will pop up. So I'll be off. Hope all are well. Have a productive and fun day folks. Scribbler
