"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."

Friday is here and all of you productivity athletes have done some great work this week. Let's make this week's final sprint count, I know you can do it!

Show up, relax, focus, kick a** one small step at a time, celebrate!

slipping

I'm slipping out of a productive cycle and into some major procrastionation.  I had a bad week and didn't do much.  I've looked back over this and have decded it is from two reasons.  First, I was out of town on the weekend and subsequnetly was not able to do many of the things that I do to support myself during the week (like cooking for the week and cleaning the house).  Those minor things affect my mood- when you come home from work to a dirty house or have to cook or eat some fast food, then you don't feel like being productive.  But I think the main thing is that I have a couple of tasks that I really dread and seem overwhelming.  Even though thtey would take a normal person only an evening or two to complete, I spread them out all week and worried and procrastinated.  In the end, I got my dreaded tasks done though I did very little else.  So instead of letting myself feel really bad about this, I'm going to be positive and say that at least I got the horrible things done an dnow I can play catch up on part of the weekend and start off good again.  The bad stuff is behind me!

 So... Friday's tasks:

work

tidy house (not a deep clean, but pick stuff up)

plant the hibiscus already

finish Collins

start G 3

write S

reallyneedhelp

Isn't it great when you think that you are doing poorly, but then you realize you made a big step in tackling the hard stuff! When I do that I feel a huge sense of relief and then can set myself up to do the little things.

By the way, one great way I have found to get the little things done is to use nowdothis.com. It is way to make a to do list that then presents them to you one at a time as you complete the task. I often get enormous amounts of smaller tasks done one I only look at the one in front of me.

Congrats!

kromer 9:30 CI

OK, lots of work today. I'm really tired (plus for some reason I can't get in the chatroom), so it's a little hard to concentrate, but I'll do my best.

Luckily I have scheduled tasks today, so should be ok:

Lunch 12-1, seminar 3-4, youth group 6-10
Get imaging for big expt done
Fellowship report
Deacon notes
Finish pset1, start pset2
Progress report(half-done)

OK, off to start imaging...1st step is to change filters and make DMSO mix

Journey 8:45

I was quite early to work today.   We're busy testing a new platform and it's kind of exciting.   I still need to get my regular work done though :)

Probably won't check in much again today cause I'll have vendors around.

e's optimistic friday ci april 23

Good morning! I am psyched to make a bit dent in the things that my mind has kept me from addressing! Today I want to start with the morning routine, get to the phone meetings and bookends, use the chatroom, use my timer, get some exercise, and do some heavy lifting on the taxes. I woke up with the realization that this is my life and I can have it how I want it!

make bed
meds, teeth, shower, face, hair,
swish and wipe bath
laundry: handwashing today
spend 5 mimutes on the laundry room tidying each time I am there
empty dishes, keep sink shiny,
breakfast: weigh and measure, eggs, rice cakes, fruit, milk
with meal meds and vitamins
plan meals for rest of day, defrost what is needed
clear up after myself
empty recyclables
spend 15 minutes on the yard
walk to hardware store, get vacuum bags, price new garbage cans
half hour walk
half an hour on email and facebook ci
check back
mit: take C clothes shopping
start dinner early clearning up as I go
shred for 15 minutes
evening meds with supper
give myself a relaxing bedtime routine early enough to get to the 8am meeting tomorrow!

"This is my life and I can have it how I want it!"

This rings very true for me as well, strikingly simple insight. :)

Mount Apo

Apparently it is one of the most popular climbing destinations in the Philippines. According to wikipedia the summit is easy to reach. I think our group should have a meet-up there sometime :)

Yes I'll come.  Planning

Yes I'll come.

Planning the trek would be a fantastic way to procrastinate!!

Glad it is an easy climb

Thanks strike. I'm glad it is an easy climb because in my present state I will need to be carried up by other PA members. I so want to get well again and now I have yet another place I want to visit.

Friday guys! Sweet!
I was super nervous yesterday about my speech but I managed to attend the meeting despite my fear and not surprisingly my evening turned out great. Not only did I hold my speech, I also accepted the role to run the whole meeting on the fly (because the toastmaster was sick), which meant I had to talk in front of about 10-15 people all evening. I learned that even though I feel really uncomfortable about something, I can still do a good job and have fun. All I have to do is to show up.

Strike - Toastmasters?

Is this a Toastmasters speech?  I'm a toastmaster, what a GREAT organization!

Strike Kudos!

You are a great power of example for me! Congratulations on showing up and doing the next right things, despite uncomfortable feelings.

Thank you for the starter, expecially for your great quote: Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts!

I have approached life as if failure is fatal for 50 years: it is such a blessing to begin to come out of my shell and take life on life's terms.

Congratulations!

This is fantastic! You should be very, very proud!
