Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.

New

I agree with another newcomer that the layout of this board is extremely overwhelming! But, I'm absolutely thrilled to see that it is thriving (I hope that's true and doesn't just look that way) and it looks like part of that is really taking this thing, which is so serious and deep and destroys lives, as seriously as it deserves. Typically, I tried to make a board like this work a while ago (not my own) and no one took it seriously. I also was part of a f2f group which called itself Procrastinators Anonymous where people only focused in cleaning!! That's the kind of thing that makes me feel ambivalent about the existence of God. I am also really happy that it's a 12 step board because while I'm ambivalent about my feelings about anything supernatural in my life, at the same time I know that without any faith in it I would have no hope. I'm thrilled to see that there's some activity in forming f2f groups and an online chat as well! This is really thrilling!! For all those reasons, I am really looking forward to this forum becoming the door for a new life for myself but at the moment I am just going to poke around and find my bearings in it first because I really don't know where to start my work here (lol!!!! there's the reason I'm here, isn't it!) I guess I do feel like saying that I have extremely controlling parents (to the point of verbal abuse and hitting) and that I found myself amazed that apparently I internalize everything so that all my efforts at breaking away from the damage, starting at 18, have failed. I am now 49 :(

Welcome oopsie!

Yep, there's a lot to read here and a lot of good info that Pro has posted, but you've made a great start by posting in the Daily Check in thread.   A lot of people use the chatbox too, I don't myself because it don't look so good in the office lol.

You've found people who understand what you're going through!   Best of luck!

Welcome oopsiedoop!

It looks like no one officially welcomed you yet. So...WELCOME! Laughing

I hope you find our board helpful! It's been good for me. Still struggling, but I feel like I have hope and some direction now. Good luck to you!
