Inkling checking in

I'd like to have agood feeling at the end of the day, and I know I will feel good if I get things on my list done, and don't kill any time. I am going to do my best, and remind myself that some things may take longer than I think. After all it is Valentine's Day and I should treat myself with loving kindness. So here is my list:

  • Clean and fill birdbath
  • Clean yard
  • Wash car
  • Clean study
  • Hand wash delicates
  • Do main laundry
  • Play with dog!!!!!
  • Send email to kids

Thanks to movingalong for the wonderful threadstarter :)

I'm going to commit to 'just showing up' here every day because I'm sick of these several-day disappearances. I get ashamed because I haven't shown up and that makes it harder to show up. So: I do not have to show up here with a tasklist, but I do have to show up here.

Today I may or may not be going out to see a friend, and I also need to clean the house from top to bottom. My housemate asked me to do this today while she's at work, and I said something like 'you've got me a present for V-day and I can't afford to get you anything so I'll clean the house for you' - so now the cleaning is a measure of my love for her - way to put pressure on myself.

I also need to spend some time sending online valentines - a lot of my friends have requested them and I'm putting myself under pressure here too, feeling that I must make sure everyone feels loved and take the time to craft the perfect compliment for each person.

I feel super daunted and have already wasted a couple of hours procrastinating. I'm thinking there will be MUCH use of the chatbox today. I'm also going to put estimated times by everything so I know what I'm looking at.

YES - I'm looking at 5h of work here - expecting the housemate home in pretty much exactly 5h. So this is doable IF I don't have to go out and see my other friend. If I do I'll think then about what to prioritise.

In my prayer time I'll try and lose the hunted, overwhelmed attitude about what is really a lovely way to spend a day, and remember that it's okay if I don't manage everything.
