In the Hick;s book, they say that it's easier to begin with a fresh less powerful thought and focus on it  and get it to expand than to try to change a already expanded powerful thought. So today we can start over with...

Late Check-in at 6:20 pm

I had the good fortune, I would like the think, of oversleeping today.
Not something I'd want every day but after being seriously short on sleep for many days, I frankly needed the rest.

Unfortunately, I never got my schedule back on track. Daytime routines filled what was left of the day, I got to work very late. My boss was clearly unhappy with my lateness and lack of tangible progress; sadly that is the norm these days.

It seems silly to post a to-do list for today. What I feel I can realistically list would be:

Morning Chores - DONE
Urgent Calls/Emails - DONE
Evening Chores - 2DO

(I could expand on the general items listed above, but I'm trying to focus on getting beyond the routine to things that make progress.)

If I'm able to get through the evening routine in time to do something further (I've got plenty left on yesterday's list not to mention new 2Do's accumulating), it will be a victory.

I'll also take it as a victory if I can get through the routine by the reasonable hour and get a good night's rest without sleeping late. That would be a major productivity victory right there.

Happy Day!!

1. build a snow fort w/ z Smile

2.  build a snow dragon w/ z Smile

3.  clean house

4. proof reports

5. write 2 more

I have reports due today and overdue.  But, I spend so much time doing them that I don't get to spend enough time w/ my son.  So I am honoring his wishes today to play in the snow!  That is great and will hopefully uplift my spirits when back at the reports. Well, I have one huge castle and 8 ft. dragon in the front yard....

hope4meandu check-in (1:50PM)

Hi All,

Not doing well, called in today, after having yesterday off for a snow day, which means I will most likely be fired tomorrow.

Almost saw a shooting across the street in front of my house, but this brave soul stopped it, which means me and my girl could have also been shot. At first I thought it was fake when I saw the gun, that they were just playing. Of course in my mind it's my fault for calling in sick and HP being angry at me.

I'm having family problems. Slipped into depression. I know self-pity isn't going to help me but here I am. I should do a chart for work and send it to them, but it means my computer might get a virus. Every time I try to access my work from home, my computer warns me not to. I think in this case I have to try to get this chart to them.

to do:
-work on chart and email to them (can't)
-THANKS JO, I JUST PRINTED THE 4TH STEP, AND I'M STARTING IT NOW AGAIN
-took care of a lot of little things I needed to

Take care.

hope4meandu- you are in my prayers

Hi hope4meandu!

I can't beleive the day you had!!!  That must have been awful.  Be strong and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.  I can relate with really bad days. Thank God they somehow manage to pass. I really admire how you are striving to meet your work commitments despite how you are feeling and the way your day went.  Hoping tomorrow goes better for you.

Take care!

Thank you Potential Energy, very grateful to you..

Glad You're Safe

Hope4meandu:

Sorry to hear about sick/snow and family problems, and very concerned to hear about your being so close to a would-be shooter.

I don't want to step on anyone's world view, and I'm neither an advice professional or a theologian, but I think just about any counselor would tell you not to blame yourself for being in harm's way from a situation that you could not anticipate. One or two people I've known have been harmed in such situations and I believe the burden is on the violent, not the victims.

Another way some would look at it, we can also be grateful to the Higher Power that you are safe now. Whether or not we believe HP takes an active role in our affairs, if we think of HP as a positive force then there's reason to believe that in a crisis HP prefers the positive outcome for us.

My thoughts and prayers are with you for all the burdens on your heart, and I'm sure many others here would say likewise.

Thank you pyrotecher, for your abundant kindness!!

"fall down seven times, get up eight" - japanese proverb

Journey 10 am &

Thanks for starting us out Vic!  I read those books years ago, a positive thought is always better than a negative one, eh?   I should read them again sometime.

I've been working really hard on Project V this week and, although I haven't made as much progress as I would like, I have gotten a lot done and learned a lot, too.  I'm off tomorrow so today is my Friday.  I'm getting tired of this pace so I am glad I don't have to keep it up that much longer!   I'm in the office today and we have vendors here, so it will be fairly hectic, but I can handle it for one day.   I am falling behind on some of my routine stuff though so I might try to catch up a bit on those tomorrow when I am "off".

I was late getting here today because traffic was awful, there were a gazillion wrecks and they finally shut down the freeway briefly to clear an icy patch, so my commute was pretty brutal.   I don't really mind though, the company I work for is pretty understanding about traffic, I guess they have to be!  So I just chill and enjoy the radio or an audio book.

I am going now to review where we left off yesterday on Project V and decide what I'll try to get done today or if I just need to fall back and let the programmers have it today.   I'm waiting for the BIC (Brilliant Intimidating Cow-orker) to talk it over and make a decision.  She's kinda scary and I hate asking her for help but when tough decisions need to be made, she is my go-to person!  I just have to suck it up and expect to be yelled at a little bit.

UPDATE 11 am no yelling, just an exasperated sigh ;-)

 Show up (done)

Intend to step out and think of new thlughts that are better than the usual ones.

Falcon snowball CI

HI pro buddies,

Lots of snow where I am!  Started my day a bit discombobulated. . . the snow blower broke yesterday, so I arranged for some people to come shovel me out this morning.  Got up early to meet them & they never showed.

Now I've lined up another guy to come by later this morning.  (Hope he shows!)  So now I can quit hanging around by the phone and do something useful.

Need to eat something, make a cup of tea and take a shower.  Then I can figure out what to do next.

Going to put on my shoes & coat & head to the bak now.

Inkling checkin

Stuck at home because of the weather, but have work with me so will try to forge ahead with data entry. Yesterday was not bad, not great, so I will try to make a little improvement today by focusing on what I want to accomplish, rather than perfectionistic fiddling.

Here goes.

Rexroth Check In

Done:
Up and sorted (is as far as I ever am)
Psychological exercise #1
Out for walk
Psychological exercise #2
Emails and post

Todo:
Write up exercises #1 and 2
Write journal
Write needs and wants
Out to post letters and collect medicines etc.
Psychological exercise #3 and write up

Thats it for now

Regards Rexroth

Rexroth Update

Done:
Above except that I've decided to collect the medicine tomorrow after seeing the doctor in case I then have new medicine to collect as well. Think that this is reasonable.
Also I've been for a walk for an hour or so and fed the birds and feel happier and better for it.
And I've read carefully some emails from the friend I phoned yesterday and need to email back but not necessarily immediately.

Todo:
Have a bath and wash hair - I wish we had a shower.
Clear up a bit - as always
Think what to do next. Things are under control which is good feeling and I have much to do and don't know what to do next. It is possible though unlikely that I will be back in hospital tomorrow.

Regards Rexroth

Rexroth Check Out

Good night Everyone
