Agnus limping in

Me too, prosick. It's after noon in my world and I am just starting the things on my to-do list for today. uuurrrgh.  Wouldn't even have checked in but for two things: I have PA as my homepage so I always see it, and Prosick's "lame check-in" title in "Recent comments" hooked my curiosity. So when I read it I had to laugh. And when I saw clement's reply, I had to check-in!  I guess that's how it works here, heh?

Anyhoo, I'm off to run errands (drug store, dry cleaner, shipping store, produce stand). Then I have:

  • some personal paperwork
  • preparation for a Monday conference call
  • lunch by 2:30
  • massage therapy at 3:30
  • reading for project EM
  • walk dog and feed cat 5pm
  • dinner by 5:30
  • leave by 6 for 7pm opening session of Big Book workshop this weekend - yay!
  • and of course all along the way, back up J on his meds, meals, etc.

Prosick - lame check-in

Yay! Pigs are flying!! That's awesome!

Just showing up. Been needing to get on here again. I have gotten some important things done earlier this week which was good but then 'treated' myself too much by not getting much done today.

Now I must get myself to sleep, so I can get up and get something done tomorrow. Need to-do list but it's falling apart.Must re-organize tomorrow and get back on track.

1) Work on WB editing
2) Input 2009 fin. data to excel
3) Fill out ind cont form & copy
4) Learn CSync to transfer files to desktop comp
5) Write cover letter for N job
6) Write cover letter for S job
7) Upload portfolio for S job
8. Call M&M and schedule meeting next week
9) Call airlines about missing refund
10) Email C. form
11) Drop by B
12) Find B. contest award
13) Car wash
14) Deposit Checks
15) PhMTX -- practice more
16) Edit 4 A.
17) Import cards
18) Re-organize & re-prioritize to-do list
19) Edit more of K.
20) Schedule cpa appt?
21) Con. deadlines
22) BU comp!!! (CSync or other)
23) Open new bank acct
24) Reply to P. B.
25) Clean up living room

"fall down seven times, get up eight" - japanese proverb

kromer 8:15 CI

I've been working hard all day, but in a somewhat haphazard way. So, for the evening, I'm going to try and get a few limited, concrete tasks done:
*Finish pset problem
*Clean my slides
*Place an order
*Do my laundry

Working on pset now.

  • USD Ticket for MD Billing Issue
  • *VBA - NM Report
  • *Clear out inbox

Evening List:

* If possisble

+ Larger project, expecting not to finish all today

And to Jo, F/U is for follow up Wink

Hope everyone has a productive day today!

Check In at 5:08 PM EST

Well, I didn't get very much accomplished this afternoon. I notice that part of the problem with me is that when I seem to have an influx of issues at work, I shut down and avoid doing anything--except surf the internet. So obviously, how I am handling this is something that needs to be explored.

@ RIF

Ha!  I'm glad to know what f/u stands for.  I'd like to send some f/u emails of the other kind, but that would be unprofessional :D

And, yes, stress leads to procrastination for me too.   When I don't want to face something difficult, off to the intertubes I go.

@clem re:quiet time

Me, too!  I often forgo quiet time because I'm too busy . . . but I know it helps me be more productive.  Silly me.

OK, yesterday was a bit of a disaster, but today can be better.

I'm going to work on pset for an hour now, just to get myself going, then I'll do a full CI w/ my plan for the day.

@kromer re:disaster

Praying you have a better day today!

Inkling checking in

Good morning

Just arrived at work. Decided to avoid the computer before work and not even open the door to that room. So far so good.

For today I am going to continue on yesterday's list

  • Send out outstanding G forms
  • Send out outstanding L forms
  • Call computer guy (not in yesterday but did call him)
  • Call Mrs. H (not in yesterday but did call)
  • Tidy desk
  • Photograph outstanding pieces
I am going to breathe steadily when I feel stressed and just make a microburst toward the task.

Edit: Major interruption: meeting and review of forthcoming report. Back to my list.

Edit: 2 o'clock and still nothing on list done. Back on track. Will start with phone calls.

Journey 9:20 & update

Good morning!  Back in the office today.   I've been to the gym, checked email and calendar, and I'm making my todo list now.  Ihave a meeting in .. .8 minutes!

Jo

UPDATE 2 pm:  having a good day today.  I feel calm and motivated, and when I get distracted I'm able to turn my attention back to my work.   Woot!   One thing I've done today, and also did the last really good day I had, was that I've read some motivational quotes whenever I got distracted or felt like goofing off.  I'll make a mental note of this.

UPDATE 3 pm:  I've reached a stopping point on Project V.  I'll pick it up tomorrow, but now I have the dangerous transition time, and want to start goofing off.   I'll review my plan for Project V., then send an email about Project G.

UPDATE 4:30  those two things are done.  I know what I need to do next but I don't wanna.   I need to face the red tape process for starting a new project.   It's a huge gigantic kluge of nonsensical bullshit.   But it still has to be done.  *sigh*.   I'll work on it for 30 minutes.

Update 5:15  I did work on the kluge for 30 minutes!  Yay me!

Now I'm going to make a list of things I need to do for next week, I am the "on-call" person next week so I have some tasks for that which must be done tomorrow.

Then I'm outta here, and it's been a very good day.   Thanks for being here you guys!  It's nice to come here when I'm having a good day, and even nicer to be able to come here when I'm not.

Lucky CI

I'm off for a weekend away (back on Monday, no internet till then - I'll miss you! :) )

Needless to say, I have NOT packed or done any preparation. Originally I was planning to leave at 12.15 but my friend's just told me an hour earlier would be really helpful if I could manage it. This gives me 3h 45 from now. So far this morning I've been dawdling and feeling overwhelmed, so I've cut my tasklist down to the essentials (some of these have time estimates by them):

Edit - Not in a good place, have procrastinated and now have 1h 10 to do more than I possibly can. Going to cut email down to 5m rushed communications to the 2 ppl who will be personally hurt if I don't email them. Cut apology on Fantasmic. Laundry I just need to move to dryer (where it may or may not get anywhere near dry in time.) Shower I can rush, 5m.

Argh. Can just about, maybe, manage everything in time except walking the dog, which is just going to have to go.

Prayer time on sacredspace.ieSmile
Prayer and visualisation over tasklistSmile
Shower 5m
Laundry 15m - In progress
