I am going to commit to getting out an email that feels difficult, following up to a meeting that was cancelled yesterday. I'm going to give it 20 minutes, and report bck on progress.
Well, a little longer than 20 minutes, but I did it! I actually started to go grab myself some lunch before even starting it - and then I remembered the posting last week about giving our attachment to avoidant behaviors. And I went back and did the email instead, knowing I'd enjoy my lunch much more later. thanks for this site.
After a very slow startI'm finaly making progress. But to be honest it is just because todayis a final deadline for a lot of my stuff. I feel ok since I see me working, but cannot shut down the voices in my head: you stupid! how come you waited for the last day? don't you see that if something goes wrong today there will be no second chance to fix it?
I guess that's one way of feeding the beast! Everytime I fail I keep saying myself I'm a failure... and this adds to my undervalued self-esteem.
Doing some declutering at the studio I found last nigth one of my favorite books (I'll try to post later about it in the recommended literature section). Wherever you go there you are from Jon Kabat-Zinn. It is about mindfulness meditation where the goal is to be aware or conscious of your life, your feelings. Just reading a few pages helped me remember that one of my best periods in my life was just when I was reading/following this book and totaly aware of myself.
I will give it another try. I do belive the beast needs to be calmed.
Getting a slow start this morning and I have a meeting in 15 minutes ack! Going for coffee and heading to the meeting, I'll make my todo list after.
I did not make it to the gym this morning, but I exercised at home, and I've read email and checked my calendar. Better get my a$$ busy.

Update 10:45 10:00 meeting is over, 11:00 meeting cancelled, and my todo list for today is made. Planning my schedule for the rest of the day. Deep breath . . . yes, I'm off to a slow start today but that doesn't mean the whole day is shot. Just go forward from here . ..
Update 4:20 I def got back on track and got a lot done this afternoon. I am giving myself a reward for completing my todolist 30 days (not 30 days in a row, just 30 days total) and I'm close to getting my prize. It's funny, it's just a little thing that I want but making myself wait for the reward really does help. Makes me focus on making my todo list reasonable, and then actually following through on it. Well speaking of that todo list I better get back to it. L8tr!
Update 5:55 only one item left on the todo list and that must be done at the house, so I'm outta here! See you tomorrow.

How you spend your days is how you live your life - Edge
Good morning all! I noticed some people are putting their daily check ins directly in the forum titled "Daily Check-Ins". Seems like that would be the right place haha, but please put them as comments in the thread with today's date. This makes it easier for everyone to see your posts and easier for you to find them later.
End of daily Journey nagging lol :) I hope you all don't think I'm being mean and discouraging you from posting . . . cause that is not my intention at all. I love having all the new people and happy to see you participating!
Have a productive and enjoyable day everyone!
