Falcon CI Thurs.

Hi all,

Happy Thanksgiving to those in the U.S.!

Here's stuff I need to do today:

  • Shower and get dressed - DONE
  • Look up toffee ingredients -DONE
  • Go to grocery store - DONE
  • Make truffle sauce - DONE
  • Go for walk - DONE
  • Pay bills
  • Make truffles - DONE
  • Re-write personal ad
  • Re-subscribe to personal ad service

The winter hibernation drive is starting to set in, and I'm just wanting to curl up in a ball and sleep, but I know that's not a good idea.

I'm also tempted to surf the web all day (well, "just for a few minutes," but we know what that leads to!)  So I am staying OFF the internet today.

Edited to add. . . and here I am, five minutes after writing this, goofing off & doing a crossword puzzle (well, at least it's not the internet!)  Come on, self, get your tukus up and get in the shower!  Going to head over to the chatroom to get myself moving.

Showing up (done)

I love the starter, I love to hike and wish I could walk into the picture.

Today ay is Thanksgiving here. I have so much to be grateful for- especially  PA site and people here. I have consistently been "showing up" for quite a few months. "Showing up" is a sort of mind set for me. I believe it is strongly connected to my avoidance behaviors. It's not so much about how many items I have completed on my "to do " list, it's more about living life on life's terms and facing everything, every day, somewhere in my life, I stopped doing that. I came very close to "shuting down" and "shutting everyone out" these past few days. Why?  In the end, it does not matter, the truth is it is self-centerness. I can only heal by keeping the flow of the universe energy flowing through me, even if it is only a trickle, it keeps me humble and teachable, and gives me the hope and on my knees.

OCz very early check in!

I took the precaution before going to bed of taking a look at my calendar for tomorrow and just noticed I have a training the whole morning and didn't wanted to miss the opportunity to check in as I really missed not cheking in early yesterday.

So, It's my first threadstarter Wink and I really wish you all an excellent day!

The image is from a 7.5 hour hike I did a few weeks ago. It will remind me that sometimes the road is long, it's steep and full of obstacles, and yet, there's nothing else to do other than keep walking. Just sitting there won't take you anywhere no matter how beautiful the landscape. I hope you like it!

Now, go to bed as I don't want to be late for training!

OCz update

  1. wake up 15 minutes earlier than usual
  2. take a minute to talk to god (found a beautiful prayer, will loose a bit in the translation but I'll paste it below)
  3. get breakfast
  4. check bank balance  :( noticed I wont make it to the next paycheck! I need to check early in the month and work on my expense tracking system!
  5. Get to training on time - Starts in 5 minutes so I have plenty of time to check in!
  6. Come back after training to review to do list (I'll only add 3 items following vic's suggestion to lower my expectations/self pressure)

to start the day with you, my Lord,
to count on you throughout the day:
this is my wish,
to take you in all my little things
and make a promise with joy,
so I offer you this day.

Thank you for the beautiful prayer.

My meditation today:

The eternal God is thy refuge.  Deuteronomy 33:27

A place to flee to, a sanctuary.  An escape from misunderstanding, from yourself.  You can get away from others into the quiet of your own being, but from yourself, from the sense of your failure, your weakness, your sins and shortcomings, whither can you flee?

To the Eternal God your refuge.  Till in His Immensity you forget your smallness, meanness, limitations.

Till the relief of safety merges into Joy of appreciation of your refuge, and you absorb the Divine, and absorbing, gain strength to conquer.
