Journey 10 am

Happy Sunday everyone!   I did succeed yesterday in staying off the personal computer all day.   Result:  Dinner for the kids was completed with NO stress and no rushing around at the last minute.   It's a little boring without the adrenaline rush, though

I'm on vacation this week, so today is a day for relaxing and not much else.   I hope you all have a great weekend and a great holiday for those of us in the U.S.

Potential Energy 9:03

I am so thankful for the help I am receiving here.  This is the first time that my efforts are working.

I sent the family away on yet another vacation this weekend -with out me-again as usual so that I could catch up.  Catch up, never really happened and the guilt also has piled up for missed life experiences.  I just think of my son without mom at all of these special times.  What message to I send to him constantly procrastinating?  How am  I shaping his feelings about himself and about doing what he needs to get done?

This weekend is different.  Keeping this sites chat close by, I am working through things.  I keep getting suprised by the layers of procrastination that unfold.  Putting away wash would be just that .  For me, it means50 steps-find wash, oops out of detergent, oops wash room packed w/ stuff need to move it so I can get in.....time to put it away?  Where?  can't fit in the closets-so on.

So, with each frightening realization of how bad my habit has become, and that I must face it and figure it out, this chat and everything has been absolutely God sent- thank you.  I pray that I will not lose motivation after this weekend. Once I get a little better at this I hope to provide motivation and support to others in return.

So to my days list:

1. Get this house in order-company comes Tuesday-break it down and expect the additional layers to the task  now at 40%

2.  Mow the jungle lawn.

3.  water flowers and rehang those flower boxes that i took down to treat

4.  try again to get printer  tried not fixed yet

5.  organize files that I have at home

6.  Place all research that I have completed this weekend into an organized spot, so it can be found the next time I need it

7.  Finish A. S. report today-absolutely do this one

kromer 8:40 CI

Yesterday was a productive and fun day! Hoping today can be as good.

I'm going to relax for an hour, then go to church and deacon's mtg.

 After that, MITs are:
1)Study biological oscillators (will try to get in 3-4 hrs of focused study)
2)Finish G's project
3)Read 1 paper
4)Cook

If I have extra time/motivation, I'll clean the bathroom and/or finish getting samples for training compendium.

kromer 1:40 CI

Back from church, had lunch and took some time off, now I'm going to go do some studying on oscillators. I'll check back roughly every hour.

kromer 10:45 CI

I did the oscillators studying and made some progress on the paper, but that's all. I think I needed some time off today, so I'm not going to beat myself up. I'm going to take the rest of the evening easy and go to bed early, then work hard tomorrow.

Hi Pro Buddies!

Me vs. that box of papers & its overflow. Me vs the general stacks of stuff in the living room. 6:45 pm update: yay, I won over the general stacks of stuff -- yay! :) The box of papers is still there, but it will be my project for Monday ;)

People are coming over next weekend. People who later in the month are going to hear my presentation on feng shui. One of the main principles of feng shui is decluttering. OK, I need to get with the program around here! Let me see how much I can get done before my bike ride ;)

10:20am. It ended up being a 3-hour bike ride. There are one or more areas I stop at for some quiet time & emotional processing; and also because it is such a beautiful day. I'm still transitioning about what I'm going to do next. I changed plans about going to my mid-morning activity, so I'm getting ready here to putter around. Let me see what I can get into.

2:40pm Still puttering around here. Earlier I fixed & ate lunch. I'm washing a load of clothes & a load of dishes.

A month or two ago it helped me to work by zones, so I am going to try that. I'll update my CI later.

Zone 1 = clear. 2:52pm.

Zone 2 = clear. 2:56pm.

Zone 3. 3:05pm. 1st pass is completed. 4:10 = 2nd pass is completed. 5:30 = 3rd pass is completed. 6:30pm = clear.

Zone 4. 3:10pm = 1st pass is completed. 3:20pm = clear.

Zone 5 = clear. 3:30pm.

Status of shredder. A month or so ago I put the shredder into its desired location. I could use it, but it involved moving various things around, so I didn't use it very often; and I would make stacks of papers so I could shred them all at once, etc. Today I have cleared a path to the shredder, so I should be able to use it more easily.

Purse. I have re-organized my purse contents and put them in an autumn purse, and put my summer purse away.

Zone 6 = clear. 3:50pm.

Zone 7 = clear. 4:21pm.

Work bag & gym bags are made for Tues.

Zone 8 = clear. 4:45pm.

These are the 8 zones that I am comfortable with clearing. The next areas will be more like mini-zones, but I must keep giving each one a shot. Let me putter and see what I can do ;)

I cooked & ate dinner, cleaned up afterwards, and started the dishwasher.

Mini-zone 9 chairtop = clear. 5:30pm.

Mini-zone 10 chairtop = clear. 5:35pm.

Mini-table top 11 = clear. 5:40pm.

Mini-table top 12 = clear. 5:45pm.

Area 13 = clear. 6:05pm.

Zone 14. sorted through papers. As good as it's going to get. 6:30pm.

Project status: ok, I am down to the box of papers that needs to be sorted, and one more stack of papers that needs to be sorted. I am off from work tomorrow. Those two paper projects are my goal. I'm estimating 1 hour for each stack. That sounds about right, with any other cleaning etc for the day.

At 7pm I will call my dad. After that, it's not so much that I am going to goof off, but maybe putter and/or read.

8:40pm. OK, basically I've done everything I'm going to do for today ;) I called my dad & I have emailed my friend. I am going to have a little quiet time before going to sleep.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Hi recycler

The idea of cleaning zones sounds like what I need to try tomorrow.  ...Do you categorize the zones by function or location-or other?  I got through and also stuck in 2 rooms.  It took all day, and only should have taken less than half.  You really got a lot done!!

Hi potential energy!

Hi Potential Energy!

Thanks for your post :) I am so challenged that sometimes each zone can be as small as a small table-top or a section of counter-top, lol. On a lot of days, I don't have to divide the room into zones; but it was particularly jumbled Sunday, so that plan worked very well. I'll use that plan today with some other mini-zones ;)

Have a great day! :)
