Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
At the gym this morning I did my full cardio, stretching, and ab exercises.
In the office this morning, I replied to my email, and worked on deadline projects. At lunchtime, I ate food I had brought from home. I did a change of address (elapsed procrastination time = about 4 months), then went into a quiet room for some meditation. During the afternoon, I finished my projects for the day, and distributed some material.
Now I am trying to plan for after work. I have something to eat at home, and I think I can fix one more thing to go with it, before it is time to go to the meeting of my other 12-step program. I think this strategy will work for me, so I am going to try to go with it!!!
6:20pm. OK, what I wanted to eat, turned out ok, so I saved money by not going out :) Next: I have 30 or so minutes before going to my meeting. Hmm, shall I try to get into anything? Let me see what I can do ...
Feeling very depressed. Hurt my back a few weeks back, had surgery about 13 years ago. Waiting for the results of my MRI I took last night to see if I need p.t. or can just go back to the gym. I'm hoping for p.t., because I don't want to re-injure my back, I know how easy that is!! IF I'm o.k., I'm hoping to make it to the gym at lunch today, but I already don't feel like going.
I know the depression is linked to not working out. Vicious cycle, I guess.
*Hugs* Hope you feel better soon, Hope. Take it easy. Wishing you all the best. You've got one person on the other side of the planet rooting for ya :) :*

You are so right, I am being careful and didn't go to the gym today. Even though I've put on weight (UGH) I think the back is too important to fool with.
Like yesterday, I want to get an hour or two of work done. I want to:
*Have prayer time
*Write up work on Fgf and Notch signaling
*If I get time, work for an hour on meiotic blocks project.
Yesterday was a busy day, lots of meetings, and today promises to be the same! I'm sort of an introverted person and lots of people interaction makes me feel tired and stressed, although I must say that I enjoy it more than I used to . . .thanks to Toastmasters I think!
I did pretty well yesterday at using my time between meetings to get work done. I want to do that again today.
First, a cup of tea, then todo list. (I'm giving up coffee so I've switched to tea at work)

I've related to your posts. I too have a very hard time showing up. I made it into work every day this week, which is good. I'm just hoping to not call in sick next week either. I'm grateful we have a place to come and share, so we can get better.
Thank you for the connection. This site and the people here tuely are hope for the hopeless. They say 95% of life is "showing up". I found that to be an easy concept in conjunction to "employment". But for the day/to/day stuff, I avoid, shut down, "start over" . In fact the "starting over" feeling became a rush for me.
I am so happy I did not shut down- mostly for my boys. I am really getting out of the denial of the seriousness of my avoidance issues, and how it affects others. I know this too shall pass, with the support here, I don't have to "start over". It doesn't seem like anything is working out in trying to repair the trip- it may not get fixed. But no one was hurt, at least not physically. Thank you for your connection. Your friend in recovery Vic

Get well wishes from me too, you gotta be careful with that back stuff, so don't overdo it even if they say you can exercise!
