Each day is a gift.  Make the most of it!

fudoshin - fifteen days - 10:54pm

Please do not leave advice.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

I have fifteen days, successfully avoiding the following:

  • social networking sites, including facebook, twitter, youtube
  • dating sites
  • chatting sites: woome, chat with a stranger, etc.  I cannot be on a
chatting site.  MMORPGs count as "chat sites".  IRC.  The only
    exception is 12 step-related chat.
  • chat programs
  • MMORPGs
  • YouTube, Google videos, Crackle, ustream.com
  • SayNow.com, and calling anyone's associated fan line

After I made it to thirty days and allowed myself to go on these sites, I made a resolution that I'd spend 14 days away and that I would at that time reconsider what I would do.  So I've accomplished my latest goal.

fudoshin : one week/new plan : 11:10pm

Please do not leave advice.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

Okay I am going to pilot this for one week, that is until Tuesday night at this time:

I can use Facebook, once every other day for twenty minutes.

I can use Youtube, Ustream once a week, during the course of one day, or one 24-hour period.

I'm thinking the most optimal time will be a Saturday for this.  I'm still holding back on the other sites for one week.

Hi Pro Buddies!

Thanks for the fun Threadstrater, Sarito! :)

This morning at the gym I did my full cardio, stretching, and ab exercises.

At work this morning, I made progress on my list -- then I got a phone call that repairmen could work at my condo, so fortunately it was ok with my coworker that I took an early lunch and went over there. The repairmen did stuff -- hopefully it was the right stuff. I'm just going to go along for a couple of days before really checking it out.

Procrastination time elapsed on the above: Last October was when I knew the project needed to be done, so it has been on my mind since then; however, for Weather reasons, the earliest it could be done was June. So elapsed time = 2 months. While the delay was due to a combination of factors, this is a characteristic of why I need PA! :) Thanks, gals & guys for being here! :)

Back at work, I plugged away at various projects. At the end of the day I got my project list in order.

Arriving at home, I fixed and ate dinner. I took a break for a while, then cleaned up around the condo. It was ok that I did some Internet surfing and wow I found some great stuff! I've brushed & flossed my teeth, washed & moisturized my face, and taken a Melatonin and 2 low-dose aspirin. Next: read some inspirational literature before getting ready to sleep.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

kromer 10:15 CI

OK, yesterday was a bit of a disaster, but I pulled myself together at the end.

Today I'll try to keep my list manageable, that seems to help me be more productive.

1)Think about what would expect in embryo, list of questions, talk to MG
2)A bunch of emails: to KS re: grills, to deacons re: picnic, to dc re: shopping list, to dg re: RAR data, to GW re: dinner tomorrow, to family re: raffle tickets
3)Work on VAD/RA injection proposal
      *write intro
*look at expr of response genes in testis and VAD, choose some good candidates for pilot
*read through refs in email from DR, prelim. guess about dose
4)Write up FGF results

OK, first off I'll make a list of questions for MG, so I can talk to him at lunch. Then I'll work on VAD/RA injection proposal, starting by writing the introduction.

kromer 11

Looked at expr of response genes and sent most of the emails...not a perfect day but a pretty good one.

kromer 9:30 CI

So, I sent 1 email (GW re: dinner), took notes from talking w/ MG, and started looking at expr of response genes. I also had a seminar planning mtg that I'd forgotten to note down here.

Now I want to work for an hour or so, then head home. I'm going to try to finish looking at expression of response genes, then I'll send at least 3 emails from my list. Heading to chatbox now.

kromer 4:05 CI

OK, read through refs from DR, now I'm going to take notes from talking w/ MG, then run by the library, then work on looking at expr of response genes in testis and VAD.

kromer 3 CI

OK, I'm not exactly flying through stuff, but I am making progress. I've written most of intro for VAD/RA injection proposal, and started reading through refs. I've also completed MIT #1. Now, I'm going to take notes on what I talked about w/ MG, then I'll look at expr of response genes in testis and VAD, then I'll finish intro and finish reading through refs.

kromer 12:30 CI

OK, I spent some time thinking about what would expect in embryo, but MG wasn't at lunch, so I didn't get a chance to talk to him about it. I'll spend about 15 more min coming up w/ questions, then I'll try to find him later this afternoon.

After coming up w/ more questions, I'll work on VAD/RA injection proposal, starting by writing the intro.

Journey 8:45 & update

Good morning!  Working from home today.   I actually started work at 8, but having weird problems with Outlook.  As soon as I get Outlook working properly, I'll make a todo list.   I have a conference call at 9:30 so hopefully I'll have my computer issues resolved by then.

I'm on my personal computer now but as soon as the work computer is healed this one is getting shut down.   I thought I could use my personal computer to listen to music, check personal email and stuff while I was working but it ain't working out that way . . . too many fun distractions right here in front of me.  *sigh*

I'll check back later . .. on the work computer . .. !

UPDATE 12:51 The personal pc is still booted up but I logged it off and turned off the power to the screen, that seems to be working.  It's not catching my eye.  I've been busy all morning with conference calls so this afternoon I'm going to get some project work done.   Right now figure out the new way to request a server reboot.

UPDATE 2:15 server reboot scheduled, now I gotta get it ready . . . I did log back on the personal computer to send one email, but I had to stop and think before I did it because it was a pain to log in and bring the browser back up.  This is working very well.  Yay!  Why didn't I think of this before ?  Well obviously I did think of it, I just didn't want to do it

UPDATE 4 pm getting a lot done this afternoon!  Turning off the personal computer is the key.  It's too bad, because I can't listen to music on Pandora but that's fine.  It's a small sacrifice and the reward is feeling successful at the end of the day, which is a really good feeling.

Journey 5:30

Yay!  Did all the work tasks on my list today!  Now to tackle dinner, dishes, and laundry.
