Agnus 1010pm

Checking in because I said I would and I want to stay true to my word.  Thought about checking in earlier but kept putting it off to do "one more thing."  The day was productive but in a reactive sort of way rather than meeting specific MITs.  I just kept doing the next most urgent/important thing that cropped up - unfortunately there were more of them than there were minutes today, so I feel dissatisfied with my productivity. However, I did not slack at all, and had some good victory-moments when I pushed through feelings of wanting to stop/stray/play and stuck to the task at hand.  Best of all I had an opportunity to be helpful to some fellow addicts - so that makes a great day, no matter what else happens.  Thank you, HP!

checking in even when u dont want toob

i kno that feeling, of not wanting to check in cuz i haven't done enuf. i celebrate the times when i can be so honest about it and check in anyway. i've felt real freedom when i can do that. I'm not really in that place today, of course, but i remember being there and hope to be again.

Focus Results: I sent the 2 letters. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In keeping my procrastination log I noticed my biggest problem is focus. I must have started these letters 100 times, I hate to think how much time I wasted. Yesterday spent 1 1/2 hr. Today about 1 hr. so total 2 1/2 hr to actually have them mailed out- One went certified mail. I seem to procrastinate, then start, then become distracted, then lose what I started or have other things to do, then start again, etc. etc. no concept of time. So the next step in my expertiment is to focus on a solution for at least some tasks.  Solution: focus, stay on taks until done.

I am happy with the 2 letter. We are going to a baseball game tonite, so I need to get ready. I will think of focus list for tommmorrow.

lol

first glance i read your subject as "frickin"

(cool pic, vic)

is it really just me in chat? "Who is Chatting" says 2 more ppl. someone there before posted that there might be a bug.

these days, it's unusual to have just one person, but in the early days of chat, it was often just me talking to myself.

doing meh today.

not really using the tools, just puttering doing some things, getting distracted.

i sort of do not want to be healed.

writing that makes me want to fix that. bbl

Recycler CI 3:50pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

This morning at the gym, I did my full cardio, stretching, and ab exercises.

At work I went through my emails and things on my project list. At lunchtime I ran an errand and ate. This afternoon I prepared for an upcoming project so I can have a short meeting about it next week. I have prepped my project list for next week.

Next: after work I think I will have time to go to the condo before going to an evening activity.

Have a great weekend, everyone! :)

Morning all!

Today my MITs are:
*Read 2 papers, brainstorm about code
*Write prelim. sig. analysis code
*Lit search BMPs
*Start email to DR

Other tasks
*Plan for picnic+concert
*Email CC, EC
*Graphs of pathway mut. data
*grad school ci
*clean bathroom

I'm going to spend an hour on BMP lit search, then I'm going to read papers and do brainstorming

Update 1:50--I've done most of the BMP lit. search (though I still need to skim 3 more papers)

I've read papers and brainstormed about code

Now, I'm going to start working on code. My intermediate goal for this is to figure out how to calc. enrichment score based on ANOVA values.

Journey 8:15

Wow, REALLY early to work today!  There is NO traffic on Fridays in the summer . . . school starts back in 4 weeks so I will enjoy it while I can.

I have been to the gym, read email, checked calendar.   I have two meetings today and I hope to be going out to lunch with some friends, to the sushi bar yum.

Going for coffee, then quiet time, then todo list.   I'll check in later to make sure I stay on track.   Yesterday turned out to be a very good day, I started the day with routine/easy stuff and did the harder stuff in the afternoon when I have more energy.  I'll do that again today.   I didn't do everything on my list but I knew I was making an impossible list when I made it.  Gotta cut that out.  I did the MITs though which was good, and had a nice evening at home too, and didn't waste it on computer games.

I love the movie "Yes Man" because when I was in college- a long time ago, my friend and I discovered the power of "Yes" and it was incredible! She even got me a lighter that said "YES" but I got rid of it when I quit smoking.

Seeing the movie reminded me of that time. It also reminded me how I a simple attitude could change your life. I don't have that attitude yet, but with this site, I feel like it is possible for me again.Right now I don't "feel" like doing anything-so what else is new?maybe my hp allowed my husband to forget library stuff so it would make me get out the door.Today-1. copy and then mail letters2.libray items due3pay bill at store and ck it out4 walk. ck in later
