HAVE A GREAT DAY!

It's a strange thing, but when you are dreading something, and would give anything to slow down time, it has a disobliging habit of speeding up.  ~J.K. Rowling, "The Hungarian Horntail," Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, 2000

(I just love Harry Potter!)

more homework for

  • more homework for tonight( cant seem to find any will to do this... so much time left until monday...)
  • cleaning my room (for real this time)

Yesterday was a bad day... I hope today will be more productive

bad day for me 2

yesterday was probably tied with the worst day i've had since coming to this fellowship approx 1 year ago. And yet, as i just posted to babarino, today is a day of hope for recovery.

it is very encouraging for me to see new ppl taking steps to recovery. Your checking-in is what has helped many ppl here, and i have great hope that it will work for you as well.

and for me :)

Recycler CI 5:45pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

Starting my CI :) I have arrived home from work and have put a load of clothes in the washer :) Next, start something to cook, then continue my CI about the day :)

This morning I needed to take my car in for routine maintenance and also for them to fix a problem that developed. I had to do that instead of my gym workout, although I did go to the gym for my shower and to get dressed for work.

Work: I feel like I have kept up with my projects this week. Who knows what will happen.

Lunchtime: Went to activity, then had lunch with friends.

Afternoon: Did projects. Got to type a document, which I really like to do :)

After work, it went ok when I got my car.

Arriving home, I have eaten my dinner and started a 2nd load of clothes in the washer. Recycler, this would be a good time to start the dishwasher (hint, hint ;) I'm going to goof around another minute or two, then see if I can start it. Actually I need to put away the clean dishes from the dishwasher, then load it up ;)

7:25pm. The dishwasher is started, and I have put the clothes in the dryer :) After next writing an email to a friend, I will probably start getting ready to sleep. *Yawn*

Have a great night! :)

12:20 check-in

The quote on the starter was a monumental help to me this morning.:) I was so overwhelmed with my Thur. and Fri. projects this morning that I felt nauseated.:( But then I read that quote and I thought just keep moving, and that's all I need to do. It gave me a lot of strength. Anyway, as I was working on project for Thur. this morning, it was resolved so I can concentrate on Fri. project. I am going to grab some lunch then work on list for Friday project. Thank you to everyone who keeps posting their experience strength and hope!

it's so encouraging to me when ppl find recovery here, esp new ppl who take their first steps. I can remember a year ago when i was, and the early successes, and what a relief it was to have some hope. It's still like that for me today. Even tho yesterday was one of the worst days for me for motivation and productivity, today once again begins with the hope of recovery.

thanks for sharing your story with us.

"fall down seven times, get up eight" - japanese proverb

GeorgeSmiley 10:30 AM; update 6:30 PM

I've been working, after a fashion, since  7:45 this morning.

But it's been all busy work. Administrative BS that I impose on myself, much of it non-essential.

Some of that I justify because I've been in crunch mode a lot the last few days.

But I've got more deadlines to meet and need to get back on track.

MIT#1: do the research and outline for Project W-M  Mostly finished

MIT#2: Catch up on Project S No progress

MIT#3: Pick up several small but long-delayed adminisrative items on my task pad Several taken care of

The Hero's Code:

Show up. Pay Attention. Speak the Truth. Let Go of the Outcome.

Lots of little things

Lots of little things today.  Gotta keep up with some paperwork and follow-up requests.

Today, I will:

-get in edits to pres and send to K DONE

-redo memo for C OL POSTPONED

-change info in database for C OL STILL NEED TO DO

isabo ci

1150 am, and had a busy morning where nothing really got accomplished.  Well, something got accomplished - I watched two hours of Sober House.  I know its edited to s***, but I get something from seeing the days progress in these individuals lives.  Rodney King, I think, is the most inspiring.  Maybe just because I vividily remember the video of his beating 17, 18 years ago.  So to see him now, accepting and slowly moving past --- not only that horrible act , but the fact his name and face are apart of recent history --- is so monumentally huge.  That is inspiring to me.               The show may be edited, but I don't think much of it is scripted, these people are living their lives and going through rollercoaster emotions and learning to live it all sober.  They have meetings with Dr Drew, he seems pretty down to earth, and I try and take what he says and apply it to my situation - it usually applies in one way or another!

Anyway, got grocery shopping done and kids had lunch.  I had a coffee, and now am jittery!  I have cut my coffee intake down severly, drinking green tea instead.  Today I thought I would have some to give some oomph to my get up and go...

I wish to accomplish these following things

- unload and load dishwasher, wipe counters and clear table 1/2 hr (talking with mil)

start laundry, that took 5 min, fold clothes, reboot laundry and fold that load

- clear floor in living room, put away items that don't belong in there  5  min

- quick clean in kids room

quick vacuum of main floor and upstairs, and all stairs  45 min - not so quick but then again I didn't realize just how....hairy...it all was!!  And I did the couch and chair as well.

- mop kitchen  I forgot to time myself, but I mopped the kitchen diningroom, upstairs bathroom, and I did the litter...it's now 3:45, and I am starting dinner, once that it is in the oven, I will take a shower - vacuuming worked up quite a sweat... oops, sorry, glow !!

I will be using my timer, and recording the time it takes to do a chore

in a bit, then....

I worked with the timer today, and watched the clock.  My son and I used the timer so he could complete a writing project he had to do for tomorrow.  It has been a good, productive day, I was able to fight off the negative voices.  I think it helps that my music was on, not the kids shows!

Til tomorrow  :)

Nothing is worth more than this day  - Goethe

Journey 9:15

Good morning everyone!  I'm feeling positive about today, although I think I have been working on MIT #1 at the expense of some less important things, which are about to become urgent.   I need to think about that when I make my todo list for today.

I have been to the gym and mal-wart, had breakfast and read email.  Now planning for the rest of the day.  See y'all in chat.

SLEEP EARLY.... Thursday night

Mansah's CL, 11.46

That quote is so true!

Right, so I've managed the things that were on top of my to do list for today - getting up early and wasting three hours online in a ticket competition. However, the next two hours have been completely useless... and I need to focus now, because those essay deadlines are coming closer...

So for the rest of the day:

 Put up CL

 Shower, brush teeth

 Knee exercises

 Essay work 13.00-16:

*Open Words

*Put down title

+If you can't concentrate try thinking why that is, what you'd rather be doing...

*Write bibliography

*Phrase an introduction

*Write down a section on first argument

-- it doesn't matter that you haven't read anything, you can do that while you write, so just get that started. It doesn't matter if it's perfect, it matters to get it done!

 Knee exercsies

 Make dinner

 Wash dishes

 If unproductive on essay earlier this is the time to catch up otherwise relax

It's 12:15 and next oral exam will relentlessly come up on Tuesday.

So, for today:

Read and memorize notes
