I figured it out!  I hadn't clicked on the "insert image" icon.

dotnow checkin

Good morning. I posted my goals on the Tues thread:  Already started the chizuk forms.  My wife is sick and in bed so she has not given two that I need to take care of.  Procrastinators need to be patient too!  I have other stuff I can finish.  I am working down the backlog, TG.  Call CH.  Goal today: study 4 hours and hlep nephew w/accounting.  This is alot: stretch goals.  What is left I finish tomorrow.

 Did accounting sutdied about 2

I noticed that the checkins (2 days) are powerful for me(a friend intro'd them to me 2 yrs ago), I am getting a little less sleep.  The first time I can remember I saw bags under my eyes this am.  Its NOT from being more busy.  Someone told me a long time ago that if you want to improve your self esteem do things right away.  I suspect the checkins have unlocked energy by losing this defense of always "not being finished" that is keeping me up at night . As well as some anxiety at how uncomfortable it feels to be self reliant and feel like I am being responsible without self blame. I think my goal at this early stage is to " be comfortable and accepting" of the discomort.  I just noticed myself editing this post for typos.  Progress not Prefection.:)

Btw what has bn inspiring for me is seeing those checked off lists on the forums.  Keep Going!

Hi I am new. My tasks are to go to yoga finish review first part of transcript and play with cats.get to bed by ten.

On reflecting on my first post:  I started to expand the no. of activities I set for a day's goal, after only two successful days.  I think that is the same root is as putting things off:  Wanting hoping and wichisng ti get the backlog down (NOW).  Wanting to avoid the discomfort of having these obligations over my head the 'shame' of feeling irresp for not having done them

there is my arrogance kicking in

Patience, humility, trustGd.

Today: plan, BoA, OilT and YKP  Did: Plan BoA and YKP (3/4)  Also called a couple of friends learned 2 hrs

Goal for tomorrow: Plan Oil T, call R K to finish the YKP, record results, exercise

Recycler CI 6:50pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

I have started a load of clothes to wash, and a load of dishes to wash.

This morning I went to the gym, did the elliptical, ab work-out, and stretching routine.

At work, I continue to clear items from my project list. I also worked on Special Events -- partly because I need to do them; partly because I have a Serenity Prayer-inducing meeting tomorrow morning ;)

During lunchtime, after I ate, I made a phone call. Even though I was given incorrect information, at least I did my part by calling. I also updated my financial records, + one other thing.

Did a couple letters in the afternoon, and phone calls. got my project list ready for in the morning.

After work: Did not have Meltdown after finding out lunchtime info was incorrect. Got temporary solution. Calmly asked additional questions so I can make an informed, calm phone call tomorrow. This is gathering information for any future Tries that are needed.

After that, continued to experience 2 or more less-than-perfect situations ((sigh)). I think the elliptical in the mornings is helping drain off frustration. I've definitely had to think about my other 12-step programs several times tonight -- aieeee!!! lololol

Hopefully I am now in Coping Mode for the rest of the evening. lol.

Next: continue with clothes washing/drying, dish washing/drying, and any other chores to a non-stressful extent. Write email to my international friend.

I also like the quote that was posted by isabo :)

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Thanks to all of you for being here. Today I drove home from a doctor's appointment for my twins and looked forward to checking in, knowing I would have a support to get things done in small steps.

GeorgeSmiley 2 PM

I've basically done nothing today.

The last 3 days have been fairly mind-numbing -- 6-plus hours working at home, 7-plus at my part-time job, commuting.

So this morning I found myself just mindlessly reviewing old email, surfing, attending to random stuff. I sppent time reconfiguring my outlook program, for instance.

My only regret is that I wasn't more deliberate about it.

No. 1 son is sick w/ strep and hanging out here now.

I'll be picking up No. 2 son from the bus in about an hour.

I'll be running some errands after that and doing chores.

I do need to map out tomorrow and the weekend because I've got to be sure I don't get further behind. That's mostly what I'll do for the rest of today.

What a morning.  Prayed, meditated, went to another 12 step meeting. Then I got on this site first thing after breakfast and read the "to the newcomer" (of which i am one).  The next thing i knew i found one very, very small item that i had become willing to do.  and i had the power to carry it out.  and it counted.  then another, then another.  so, this morning my checkbooks are balanced, all banking questions have been answered, my desk only has a couple of items on it.  i am on my way to the shower, then lunch, then go to work and have fun.

thanks, so much for this website, your comments, the steps and HP.  today i was at peace starting and re-starting very small as well as going very slowly.

more later!

sounds like you had a great morning. Was it better than usual for you? i kno i do feel great when it all goes well, of course, in my case, i fear that it's all going to go badly again. But i hope that doesnt happen to u.

Sammy ci :: 1:25 pm

Feeling frazzled today.... a few unfinished projects are stealing attention that should be focused on school and homework.

To Do: finish econ and psych homework. Leave for class by 2:20.  Ad Design paper #1 & #2. Get a good night's sleep. Don't stay up late talking to T!

Sammy ci :: 10:40 pm

I've just arrived home after class, and am taking a tiny break before starting my Ad Design homework.

Tomorrow I need to leave for class by 8am. When I get home from class, I need to shower and pack for the weekend. I'm going to be on staff for a youth retreat at my church for middle schoolers called "New Beginnings." I'm looking forward to spending a weekend in youth ministry...its one of my favorite things. :-)

I think I'll check in tomorrow sometime before I leave for the retreat. I've got work to do yet tonight, but its managable. :-)

Sammy ci :: 3:00 am

Well, its 3 am and I'm just going to bed. I am up way too late, but I'm feeling very ok with that... Everything is under control, and I got right to work and stayed on task as soon as I turned off all the distractions. Time to get some sleep, then ENJOY class tomorrow morning because I'm CAUGHT UP (I had started to slip into last semester's routine of not turning in papers)

Goodnight! (/good morning!)

Get reading done

isabo 130pm

hmm, I thought I had written here this am..ah well.

My ds is sick today, his eardrum was throbbing and infected and robbed him of sleep last night.  It has burst, but is still causing him much pain.  I put a call in to the doctor, but no return call yet.  All the internet studying I've done says there is nothing that can be done, that the drum will heal itself in 2 weeks or so. - Does the pain continue for that long as well??

So far I have eaten well, started and rebooted laundry, cont'd letter to friend, took steak out for supper.  DD has not eaten yet, she says she is hungry and eats nothing I offer her...banana, yogurt, broccoli, toast, milk.  She has had juice today that's it. She was just snuggling up to me - sorry, not 'just', she is always right here by me within 3 feet! - I asked is she wants bolonga?  She has agreed - finally something for the tummy to work on!  Stubborn little girl!

I have the financial stuff right beside me, am going to work on that right now..

Til later then....

and I KNOW I did a check in earlier, I need to find it!

isabo ci 445pm

This afternoon we all went to the doctor for son's ear - no infection.  She did say that he could take ibuprofen ontop of the acetiphenomen.  So I gave him some, and 45 minutes later he threw up.  Mostly mucus, as he hasn't eaten or drank all day.  Poor little man.

I have a low grade headache, but is it from a cold or the fact I haven't had any coffee?  I have had two teas though, so really, I shouldn't have a caffiene headache.

Got my finance stuff done, one of these day I will file away as well.  I recieve some paperwork for income tax that I have been waiting for, so this weekend while my hubby's home I will find the relevant paperwork.  It will be nice to have that all done.

In my original check in that I must not have actually posted, I had a will do list...I am changing the title to tasks to do...whenever.  Take the pressure totally off.  Finding my own way of keeping track of things is becoming rather important, so I actually do keep on top of things.  I really don't want to wander aimlessly back to where I was 5 weeks ago - that is great motivation, but my subconscious likes to conveniently bury those feelings.

It's five here now, so I must go.  I don't have to make supper tonight, which is wonderful!

Have a good night everyone....tomorrow is a new day!

isabo, praying all are better soon!

Hi Isabo, Sorry to see your little ones aren't feeling well... it is tough when they are so sick, wanted to send you a hug and say what a good mama you are! Hope they have a good night sleep and feel better in the morning! You are in our prayers :-) After that my dd thinks any "booboo" just needs a "sticker" and then all better!

thank you!

Thanks, godsgrace!  They both feel better today, yah!  We get to leave the house today, and get some grocery shopping done - which means they get their cookie from the bakery and that always puts them in a good mood!!

Wishing you a good day!

Friend is getting me caught up in problems that are not mine to deal with but are nevertheless making me quite upset and prone to procras.

However, now I'm going to move on. I've had a good healthy dinner, and now I'm going to go to the store and get some diet coke (not healthy but will make me happy), then do an hour of stats studying to some cheery music.

I'm a bit scared this morning b/c I finished two major projects yesterday (or did at least what I set out to do) and now I'm sitting at my desk not knowing what to do. It's these times when I don't have a deadline looming that tend to be the most unproductive for me. I'm going to make a list of things that I can get going on.

1. Follow up w/ L on K Proj
2. Check into proj list and see what hasn't been done and is a priority
3. Continue working on bus pres on 27th.
4. Stay off the Internet!!!!

That's good for now... Here's to Right Now!

between projects

i struggle mightily with that--being done w/ a project, and then just limbo.

making your list and taking action sounds like a wise plan. It's a good reminder for me.

Journey 9:05

Good morning!  I won't be around much today, it's a busy day full of meetings!  The good thing is that I won't have time to goof off.

I am stressing over New Project and I have found myself spending all my free time in the video game Second Life.  Yesterday I did all my work, cooked dinner, and did the dishes - so I did what I needed to do, but every spare minute went into that game.  I gotta do something about this    I thought seriously about quitting and that scared me so much that I made two new characters and spent hours equipping them with stuff.   I like playing dress-up in this game and chatting with my friends, but this is going overboard.   More about this later, right now I gotta get coffee and head for the first meeting at 9:30!

I will prolly not be in the chatbox today, I'll just post here once in a while to stay on track.

Journey 10:15 stressful day!

a stressful day . . . so far I'm handling it ok, but a lot of stuff going on!  I have a phone call with vendor for New Project at 11:00, and before that I have to get some channel definitions to the storage people.   I haven't had anything to eat yet and I desparately need a bio break!  I'm taking a 10 min break to run to the ladies' room and make some notes in my journal from quiet time this morning.

I had quiet time in the gym this morning, and that worked pretty well. There are several classrooms where you can go and do your own thing and I've been going in there to practice my headstand (practicing for it, I'm not actually there yet!).  So I had quiet time after that which was nice.   It's good to do it early in the morning, and I've been putting it off until later.  Setting timer for break, back later.

Journey 5:05

After talking to vendor I have a new plan for installing a starter system so I'm downloading that now.  I'm glad this work day is almost over, but I survived.
