Recycler CI 4:15pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

Tying up some loose ends here today! I've just added some long(er) projects to my list, but I've got some ideas about knocking those out, so not overly concerned at the moment ;)

This morning: gym + got approval to send out some communications from work this morning. Responding to emails, and following up on things I haven't received a reply to yet. After I ate at lunchtime, I replied to some personal emails that I needed to attend to. Working on other projects this afternoon.

I have an appointment after work. When I'm on the computer after that, I've got to focus my time to do a specific email, so might not get to update my CI again later.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Take car in to shop

Thanks for the many encouraging posts on here.

Last check-in

Just a quick note to say I got everything on my list done other than taking the car in, which I will do on the
way home. Hope everyone has a good evening and night!

"Today I can give myself credit for at least one more step"

Because they are all baby steps.....

I just left a post to h-f saying I was gonna go do the kitchen coasting on her enthusiasm.  I am still here.   Thursday ams are preschool days, so that is my 'mommy time'  I went shopping.  And I got it into my head that seat cushions with the strings would be perfect for the seatback of the futon - as there is no upper cushion.  So I picked up my DD and we went to yet another store to find them...didn't have to though.  Not necessary at all.  But if I am out of the house then I don't have to do house stuff........its just another form of procrastination.  And now I am hear, writing about this procrastination.  IMy DD is having a fit beside me, thats right, I am typing through it.  But I am getting up, and I am not sitting down until the kitchen is done, and the recyclables are bagged up.......  (120pm)

159, well, did a whirl wind of stuff, not quite done yet, must pick ds up....

342 pm darn computers - I already wrote out a check in, but when went to activate timer and check in disappeared!  so, todo list for rest of day - 5 minute room rescue, start supper, vacuum main floor and down the stairs, start laundy, reboot and fold, program tv for tonight.....I will ci in a bit...

600pm   I think I did well today.  Didn't follow my cj , but upstairs is neat and tidy, and main floor too...did the vacuum, room rescue, hot spot, dinner, started laundry, forgot about it till now actually, have to make sure I get that finished tonight.  programmed tv, found out a new concert is on the music channel, gonna record that!  Tomorrow am gonna be a little stressful, ds has an appt, always worry there.  And I did make cookies last night!  I find that it if I make them at the same time as dinner, it isn't exhausting.   ?   whatever works!

Hope you all are doing well.  Thanks for your kind words, hopefaith, I hope you are flying through your house!

first check in

well, here goes.  I got a late start this morning due to lying around doing nothing, but I think I'm back on track now.

Never mind the technical lingo; I know what I'm talking about Wink. Today I will:

-do Carn. pricing memo

-proof the Ford banners

-do the Ford periphs

-call Caroline

-check on the K. polling

I certainly wasn't

I certainly wasn't procrastinating today, but a lot of work-related things came up that sucked up all my time (that happens at this job more than I like).  I got the banners proofed, but the rest will have to go tomorrow.

excited for ml

great job! let us kno how u did. dont be afraid to post failures, it is one of the things i find hardest and most useful.

welcome again!

fyi: sometimes people edit their posts to provide updates, but once someone replies to it, u can't edit it anymore. then people just reply to their own posts. Some people always update by replying.

Journey 10:15 10:15!? Already?

Where DID the morning go??  I am working from home today, and I have yet to do any real work although I did do some emailing and had a couple of phone calls.

My dad is having (minor) surgery this morning.  My brother and mom are with him, and it should not be serious but he's pretty old and frail so you never know and I'm worried.  That is no excuse for playing video games for an hour when I'm supposed to working though!

So, ok, let's get started!   I've been to the gym, checked my calendar, read new email and attended one meeting via conference call.  I'm supposed to have a one-on-one meeting with the boss at 10:30 but since he is remote and so am I, I suspect we will reschedule that meeting.   He often doesn't show up for scheduled meetings anyway and it's very annoying.  I know he is busy but it seems that he can't be assed to cancel a meeting that he knows he isn't going to attend.   It is disrespectful of other people's time.

Well, enough b*tching for this morning!  I'm going to get up, get dressed in clothes that will be appropriate for visiting the hospital if that becomes necessary, and then plan out the rest of the day.  Ack!  I'm like totally freaked out this morning.   I should have quiet time right after I get dressed and try to calm down and focus.

I'll wait 10 minutes to see if the boss acknowledges my emails or IMs before I give up on him.

Journey 7 pm

After I got myself together this morning, I ended up having a fairly productive day, and putting in a full eight hours.  I feel that I have redeemed the day.

The past few weeks have been a bit of a struggle for me, I"m not sure why, but I've relapsed into some bad habits.  Not as bad as pre-PA, but not as good as the new normal for me.

Thanks for being here to help me climb out of the little ditch and get back on track.   And for keeping me from digging myself into a huge deep hole that would take months to climb back out of again.

MWAH!  (that's a big kiss to all of you! )

 Excellent day-starter, chickadee!

Early start for me. Mrs. GS and I have been working on trying to get to bed earlier so that we have a full 8 hours of sleep when the alarm goes off at 5 a.m. This is so we can follow through on our plan to exercise 3 days a week or more at the Y to which I've been paying monthly dues donating money for years.

This will be a bit of a Swiss Cheese day with a meeting out of the home office at 9 and then an early end when No. 2 son comes home from school. I'm responsible for dinner tonight, as well, and No. 1 son may have a swim meet I want to go to... not sure about that part.

George going to the Y

So you are going to bed at 9 pm.?   I think I have given up on that idea . .. I go to bed at 10 and get up at 5 and just sleep in on the weekends.   I just can't make myself go to bed at 9.   I'm tired by the end of the week but it seems to work better for me.   I know they say you should go to bed and get up at the same time every day, but gee whiz going to bed at 9?   Before you know it we'll be at the diner at 4:30 pm with the rest of the old people having the early bird senior citizen special.

Anyway, keep us posted on your progress.  This is an issue that I struggle with so I'd be interested in hearing how it goes.

However, I HIGHLY recommend getting an hour of exercise a day any way you can work it into your schedule.   Since I've started working out again I feel really, really good.

(talking about the Y reminds me of a dirty song but we won't go into that)

Bed time

"So you are going to bed at 9 pm.?"

Well, not yet, but that's the goal. 9:30 lights out if possible. We just aren't getting enough sleep and it cascades to everything else.

Last night we got the lights out a little after 10. We'll keep working at it.

[And great, jo, now you'll have me wracking my brain trying to guess what that song is! :-) ]

kromer Thursday plan

Tomorrow I'm heading back home, so I won't quite get in a full day's work in, but I can come close. Here's what I want to get done.

MITs:
*Check over my analysis of cyb26b1 data
*Talk to Mark about data & lab work
*Make doctor's apt.
*1 hr work on homology mapping

Other tasks:
*Do analysis of stra8 data
*2 hrs reading about signals and systems
*Review and take notes on 3 papers
*15 min WM documentation work
*Laundry
*30 pgs R tutorials
*Pick tentative dataset to work on and email

kromer 1:35 CI

OK, I flew back home, got to campus, now it's time to work.

On the bus/plane, I read 20 pgs of R tutorial and reviewed/took notes on 1 paper.

Now, I'm going to make doctor's appt., then head to lab to check over my analysis of cyp26b1 data and talk to mark. Should be done with these tasks around 4.

Update 4:10--talked to Mark about data. I realize I'm not prepared enough to have a coherent conversation w/ him about lab work, so I'll prep that tonight so we can talk tomorrow.
Made doctor's appt.
Am mostly done checking over cyp26b1 data, should be totally done by 4:30

kromer 4:40 CI

Finished checking over cyp26b1 data

Need to keep working on DP's project for a bit, so right now I'll analyze Stra8 data. When I'm done (should be 6 at the latest) I'll go home,  start laundry, have healthy dinner, prep for talking about data/lab work with Mark tomorrow, and do my last MIT (1 hr work on homology mapping). I'll work in the chatbox and update frequently.

kromer 8:30 CI

Started laundry, went grocery shopping, had dinner, did dishes.

Now, my last MIT...1 hr work on homology mapping. I'm going to do 30 min of work, then hang up laundry to dry/finish unpacking, then do another 30 min. Back when this is done.

Constance's plans for Thursday:

O go to library, no matter what. And if I just take a nap there.

x ok, there's just too much stuff on my desk to study outside my home - I'll deposit crucial internet cable at my daughter's daycare, so I can't surf :-D

did that but then did sth really sick: I went home and I found another cable to get the internet up and running again. Never done that one before. I always accepted my choice to NOT use the internet for a day, been doing this for months now, on and off the odd day or two (as I am lucky enough to not needing the net for my work, I got all my work stuff on papers and in books) .

Feel very ashamed right now, and this is the only place where I can tell and look my addiction in the eye ...

feel better now. It's all good. I study and chat a bit. That's alright. The best I can do today!

x disable TV!

O Read UR

O Finish index cards

doing well on that one. Hooooray!

   x box no.1 done

   o box no.2

O When getting distracted, pick up UR and just thumb through it

O in procr.-emergencies call D for support, immediately!

Constance said "this is the only place where I can tell and look my addiction in the eye"

YES!  Isn't it great to have a place where people UNDERSTAND?!

(unplug that cable!)

Thank you, Journey!

Tomorrow I'll try another 6 hours without internet.

I'm glad you're all here!
