I remembered to do my CI today before leaving work, since I will get home too late tonight to get on the computer across the street at the rental condo.
This morning went to athletic club, saw friend, & did stretching. Showered & got ready for work. Took a couple of things to new condo. Did projects at work this morning. Paid bill during lunch; finished & emailed volunteer newsletter. Helped with another department's urgent needs after lunch, and did a project for a committee chair. Next: make some updates, and send at least one email.
After work, go by the condo & change clothes before 12-step meeting tonight. Meet with sponsor for a soft-drink afterward. A giftshop in that neighborhood will be open late, so look there for a special teddy bear.
- downmerge emergency fixes
- commit/merge/test latest fix

- at least 2 additional hours clearing out bugzilla items
- clear desk
- practice guitar
- watch a movie
- read 50-100 pp.
Ack! Things are coming in faster than I can deal with them today! The good thing about that is that there is no time to procrastinate. I need to make sure that I get some work done on my MITs in spite of unexpected tasks coming my way.

G'morning, PA pals! Coming off a great relaxing weekend in which about half of the family messiness got resolved, so I feel more hopeful, less kicked-in-gut about the rest of it. I feel actually ready to knock some MITs outta the park this week, and I am so grateful for the healing of my HP and these programs and friends. ((hugs))
First, I need to finish my Step 11 and coffee time, which has been interrupted by various family/pet/phones. This should result in some clear MITs. I need to keep in mind that I have an all-day class Friday, which means basically a 4-day work week; and I have two trips to schedule, and a passel of returning phone calls and emails that will come all day today and tomorrow and will generate new MITs as they come in. Gonna be a juggling act! Back in 30 minutes with MITs. well that timing certainly did not pan out! It's after 1:30 p.m.! These MITs ahead:
Well, the dog had me up bright and early this morning...he LOVES playing in the snow, so he was thrilled that we got a fresh 4 inches last night. I let him out, and went back to bed!
Now I'm up for real, and its time to get started.
To Do:
Write paper: Advertising directives
Shovel sidewalk
Pick up around the house (trying to keep it clean until Christmas!)
Late start (still getting over jetlag), but I've gotten dressed and had breakfast.
Scheduled:
*Probability class 2:30-4
*Harambee 5:30-8:30
My MITs for the day are:
*Write 2 pgs about coreg. project
*Get together careful results on 3 datasets
*Make a schedule for what I want to get done this week
*Check in w/ CJ, ask for seq and data, process data on microscope and transfer to my computer.
Other tasks:
*Spend 1 hr reading about signal processing
*email 1 prof, go over rotation-chosing status
*Read CSB100 paper
*Put out trash
I'm going to start by making a schedule for the week. Then I'll head to campus and work on getting together results on datasets. Then I'll check in w/ CJ and go to class.
Back when I'm finished with schedule (around 10:30)
Going super-slow this morning, but I made a schedule and am now in lab. I need to get together results on datasets. This means that right now I need to start rand. runs on 3 datasets, chose parameters for 2 datasets, do calcs. + postprocessing on those 2 datasets. Back when those tasks are done (around 1 I hope). I'll work in the chatbox to stay on track.
Found there was an error in some of my previous calculations, so now I'm re-running them.
I also realized I needed to go to the bank, so I did that.
Now I'm having a really hard time staying motivated, but I need to get work done on NM's project, so I'll quickly update my lab notebook, go talk w/ CJ and start processing data on microscope.
Well, not exactly blazing along, but I did update my lab notebook and talk w/ CJ and ask about seq and data, and I went to probability class. Now I'm going to go process data on microscope and head to Harambee (need to leave at 5:30.
Did most of data processing, took a friend's phone call, then went to Harambee, came back and had dinner. Now I need to spend about 20 more min processing data from microscope, then return a friend's phone call, then go work on getting together results on the 3 datasets.
Update 9:45--processed data, returned phone call (not there, will try back later), now I need to work on getting together results from the 3 datasets. I think I'll probably only get through 1 or 2 tonight, but I'll do the best I can. I'll work in the chatbox and check back here every 20 min.
Getting a bit of a late start this morning, but I've been to the gym, read email, and set MITs. 6 MITs for today. Let's get started. No, first let's have a coffee break :)

It's been another couple of weeks of scattered work and non-planning.
I've been working for about an hour and a half just organizing my task list and bringing up to date several lapsed administrative tasks, like my timesheet.
Today's externalities: Snow (meaning I'll have to clear the walk when it stops); a shift at my PT job tonight (meaning I'll have to quit at home/office early).
MITs:
#1: Editing-Project IDC Completed as of 11:25
#2: Writing, Project MM-B Finished 2:25 PM
#3: Writing, Project D-G
#4: Research, Project L
#5: Research, Project P-2
I might not check in with each action. But I promise I will check in if I'm getting off track.
Update 12 Noon.
#1 finished.
Had some lunch.
Now #2.
Update 2:30 PM
#2 finished. Need to snowthrow and then go to PT job. Unlikely to be back here today. Pretty good job of staying on task, at last....

i hope we're speaking metaphorically with the eating again, as my vegan diet will be a problem if not (:
i'm glad i am back as the past week or so i lost my new routine completely, and felt the start of some unhealthy frustration.
