Hi Pro Buddies!

A good Monday here :) I even got out of work on time :)

Today: brought some things to/from each condo. Peeled painting tape off of crown molding, & got much better results on this wall than the previous wall ;) Showered at gym & got ready for work. Did projects at work. Did errand during lunchtime. Did more projects in afternoon. Planned project for tomorrow. Came directly home from work. Going to surf websites before going to support group tonight. If sponsor is there, meet with them after meeting. Take 1-2 loads of stuff over to the new condo.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Feeling like I'm in a squirrel cage... :-(

Well, it's mid-afternoon Monday. I have had a very busy weekend and a long list of stuff to do, so I'm not getting much done at all.

I have to work at my part-time job this evening.

For now I'm going to proceed with organizing myself for the rest of the week.

*sigh*

drun Check In, 2pm EST

I have not been on p-a.org much the last week or two because I have had to watch using online activities and p-a.org itself for procrastination. I've been thinking of you guys.

Working now on a project that gets my stomach in a knot, trying to work through that by posting it here.

MIT #1: --nv empl appl, find xsrpts and add info to appl.

MIT #2: --ck activities, poss call or em nv.
MIT #3: --work on completing next step, prob. written statements.

Thanks, and best to all on your tasks ...

I am practicing patting myself on the back for little things today: if I put away one tiny little thing I find I do better if I focus on the mini-success than on the squalor that is left to deal with.

My sleep schedule is way off these days: I am up until 4:30 in the morning, wake briefly to get my son up for school and then am asleep until noon. So, my MIT for the day is to take Melatonin this afternoon to reset my internal clock. Thanks, everyone, for all the information on SAD.

Would like to: fill a bin with autumn leaves.

put away 10 things in a final place in the bedroom

invite everyone for Thanksgiving, plan menu, and not freak out about it

vacuum (as I type that I feel a sense of dread in my chest: I wonder why)

dishes: keep the counter clean

plan tonights supper

launder

be here frequently

Journey 2 pm UPDATE 3 pm 4:30

Still working on MIT #1.  I guess that's a good thing, but I planned on working on this for about an hour and it's been 2+ hours.   Partly, it's more complicated than I thought, and I don't want to stop until I get at least some real work done on this today, and partly because I can't seem to focus on it for more than 5 minutes at a time!   Oh, well, "just keep starting".  I'm going to give it another half hour and then move on, as there are some other things that I need to work on today.

3 pm:  Well, once I posted about this, it helped me break through the "brain fog" and get MIT #1 completed.   I did more work on it than I planned,  I finished and submitted it for the next step, so until it comes back from a committee I'm done with it for now!   Pause here to enjoy the feeling of successful completion.

Moving on to MIT #2

4:30 MIT #2, which was to make a stab at starting on Project G, is done, as much as I can stand for today.   Off to MIT #3.

Monica CO - 7:10 am

Well, I completely forgot to account for the time I would spend away from my home, taking my daughter to her karate class last night, and over shot my to-do list. Yesterday’s list was way too long for the amount of discretionary time I had available. Thank goodness for my husband who jumped right in and took care of the most important things on the list. He cooked dinner, helped my son with his homework and gave him a bath. I checked these tasks off of my list because, even though I didn't do them, the tasks did get done. I’m going to work on a new list this morning and will CI around 9:30 am, after I've dropped my son off at school and have some time to myself to plan.

All the best,
Monica

To Do:
[x] CI
[x] Devotional time
[x] Shower & dress to shoes
[x] Scrub shower
[x] Make bed
[x] Clear email
[x] Shine sink
[x] Pickup a few groceries after work (remember list)
[x] Cook dinner (dinner was cooked by my husband)
[0] Clean up kitchen after dinner
[0] Call Dr. Wallace
[0] Clean off hot-spot
[0] Layout outfit for me and my son for tomorrow
[x] Help son with homework (completed by my husband)
[x] Give son a bath (completed by my husband)
[0] Review Calendar and make new CI list for tomorrow
[x] CO (didn't do this ‘til the next day but I’m counting it since it’s done)

If I can't do it perfectly, I'll do it anyway. If I can't do it all, I'll do some. If I do nothing, nothing gets done.

Agnus ci 11:45am, 4-ish and 7:15pm

I e-fasted on the weekend so I've been catching up today on the weekend posts - so much great recovery. Already today I prayed, wrote food plan, called sponsor, made Big Book meeting, bought dog food, exercised, ate, cleaned kitchen, did pet care, and checked in here. Today's plan so far:

  • check out alternate office space
  • write job description
  • compare costs
  • Todo and my travel list for J - travel list still unknown for certain.
  • Call new AP contacts - 3 down, 10 to go
  • Read and respond to 46 emails in my Inbox got 'em down to 6 including today's incoming.
  • Check AP Inbox and respond as needed
  • Spend 1 hour on the paper pile at my left (use Chat if needed) postponed
  • Check in again before 3pm. Oops - not on time! done @ 4:23pm.

I am going to make another few phone calls and then step out to visit the alternative office space I called about earlier. --- haven't gotten there yet. incoming emails and phone calls generated some U-MITs that had to be addressed right away. going to walk the dog and then try to get up there to see the office.

Journey 11 am

Late checkin today and didn't check in much over the weekend either!  The weekend was ok, though, as usual it could have been better but the house is reasonably clean and I made a couple of nice dinners.

I just found out that we're having weekend visitors in December so I have to do something about the disaster in the spare room before then.   I have warned them that it's bad, but they say they don't care as long as they have a bed to sleep in.  I will be stressing over this for the next few weeks.

Today, I'm getting a really slow start, but I've been to the gym, read email and set my mits.   Also took care of a few administrative type things in email.   Now I have one hour to work on MIT #1 before my lunch meeting.

Have a great Monday everyone!

chick: "hope i can keep starting" -- good one. I'm going to try to remember that today.

9am : bookend reading this site.
9:20 (20min) : there was a lot to read. Still, i didnt get lost. Now review/set MITs. I'm going to try to live this day as if it were not my own, but HP's.
9:55 (25min) : ok i had to pull myself back from getting involved in my MITs--short ones--because they were not really that short after all. And an optimization to my process was taking longer than i had anticipated, so i had to stop that.
*** That means today is a good day so far, because pulling back from those things is something that is always hard for me except on my best days. Check back at 10:15.
10:20 (25min) : got stalled. but pulled away from it. back to setting MITs.
10:30 (10min) : handled an interruption. Back to MITs.
10:35 (5min) : getting overwhelmed. going to chat to break it down and motivate
11:15 (40min) : MITs set and have a good plan for the day. Feeling very positive, now guard against time binging.
11:40 (25min) : working my top 2 MITs. next ci at 12.
12:20 (20min) : i can be behind 10 min all day and still do great. Time for quiet time. As if i were a machine and needed fuel, even tho i have not run out of fuel yet.
1:55 (1h35min) : GREAT quiet time today. I was given gifts and blessings. Ready to work, and ci at 2:15.
2:40 (45min) : ci 25 min late, but still it's ok. Want to be a little more deliberate in my time usage, but i'm working on MIT1 but it's taking longer than i thot.
3:30 (50min) : that's a bit long. stalled on MIT 1 but cause it was confusing, not because i was procras-ing. that's better than usual, but i can still do better. making progress. make more and ci at 3:45

Good Morning All,

About 1 1/2 behind this morning so I do not have all my plans mapped out for the day. So it is a short list to start with. Check back after a while.

  • Coffee
  • Check E-mail
  • CI Update 11:15

    CI Update  5:15

I have fallen by the wayside today and have not planned as well as I should have due to the fact that I woke up late and did not plan the night before. Despite my poor planning I have had a successful day.

Tomorrow is Veterans day and we do not have school. So my kids my dad and I are off to Toys' R Us to do some window Christmas shopping and out to eat. Christmas has really been on my mind over the last 24 hours so I need to take some action so that I can put my mind to rest and get a plan in place with regards to what I will buy them this year. It will also be a great outting for my dad who spends almost everynight watching my grandmother. Inaddtion it will be great to have fun with my kids

Hopefully I will Check In when I get home and plan my day for tomorrow. Having the day off I really want to get some stuff accomplished around the house.

    Sammy ci :: 7:00 am

got up late this morning, but things are moving along now. I think I have a very full day ahead of me....

    1. MUT- Meeting with L and P about N (this is going to be a tough one for various reasons...)

    2. MIT- Photo Studio

     3. MIT- Turn work in to T.

    4. Read material for sociology before class

A little late getting started...I need to get dressed, make my bed, pack lunch, do 5 min of Harambee prep and head to lab.

Update 9:30--in lab (a little late, but ok)

I'm going to work on PF's project until 12, then go do data analysis for NM's project (should take about 3 hours), then spend a couple hours working of PT's project, then head to Harambee.

    kromer 9 CI

A decent day so far. I did good work on PF's project until 12...I didn't get quite as much done as I would have liked, but I kept focus and made okay progress. Then I worked on NM's project...ended up having to do some extra work for that, so I didn't get to PT's project. Then I went to Harambee, came home, had a 30 min break and now it's time to work again.

First, I need to start a load of laundry (I'm out of clothes) and do a few dishes.

Then, I need to spend a focused hour working on PT's project...this has been hanging over my head for weeks. The only way this will get done is one step at a time.

Then, I'm going to make a schedule for what I need to accomplish this week.

Finally, I need to email SS, PR, and TH.

    kromer 11:40 fantastic CO

I got more than an hour of really good, focused work done on PT's project, and it feels so good! I can finish this project that's been hanging over my head, yay! I haven't had a real productive stretch in a week or two, and it feels good.

I also did laundry and sent emails. I still need to shower and make a schedule for the week.

    Good night, all!

    Kromer's fantastic checkout

       yay!

    roses ci, 10:30

Today i need to rehearse my music. Also message a promoter to get a show, my first show for a long long while.

I said I'd make a vegan curry for dinner, so I've to purchase ingredients for that.

Stay off this PC, and stream only one episode of House later this evening - not ten.

17:30 - I completed all tasks I set! In short all I wrote above, but there's more that I'd usually find a challenge:

    • Woke up around nine, and got up before ten!
    • Ate breakfast away from the computer.
    • Practiced drums for an hour.
    • Did other exercises.
    • Showered, cleaned my teeth and dressed!
    • Played through my songs.
    • Sent a message to a promoter to see if they can get me a show!! (I haven't performed for over a year)
    • I made a good lunch.
    • Listened all the way through an album someone had lent me a while ago, even tho I didn't love it. I had kept putting this off before.
    • Bought ingredients for curry.

I did use the computer, but not for more than 10 minutes a go. Checking on here, sending that message and looking up the recipe were things I needed it for.

I've just to make dinner now. I am pretty happy, as for the first time in ages I feel as tho my day has had some worth.

Godspeed to you all, this is a great place.
    peace and love.

    chickadee - thankyou sister,

chickadee - thankyou sister, now my only task is to tread some time to avoid worrying over the promoter's response. I hope your day was equally as fulfilling.

e - House... indeed I've been through four seasons in the last couple weeks. Both yesterday and today, tho, I allocated myself one episode, and so far I've stuck to it. I sure hope it lasts, for entertainment's sake!
