Recycler CI 6:20pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

It's freezing here! I need that Teddy Bear Hug! :) Thanks, Edge! :)

This morning, took 1 box over to new condo. Put up painters tape in next area. Showered at gym & got ready for work. Did projects. Worked steadily. Did challenging errand during lunchtime, successfully. Other projects in afternoon. At least one afternoon project hung on the national Server for more than an hour, adding to general anxiety (sigh). Boss needed me to stay late, which I did. (maybe it will count toward overtime?) Came home & ate dinner. Tried to feed neighbor cat, but it didn't want any salmon.

Next: go to volunteer activity. Try to do one more thing at condo afterward. Go to sleep on time.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Journey 8:50 UPDATE 10:00 1:00

First 1-hr chunk of work behind me :)  Setting timer for 30-min "break" to medicate the dog, and clean up and get dressed in "work from home" clothes.
Update 10 am: k, that 30-minute break was an hour, but that's ok.  45 mins. of real work now, 15 min finish up email, then 30 min start on MIT #1.  That will give me time for a 15 min break before 11:00 meeting.

1 pm - both meetings are done, but I didn't really focus on MIT #1 for the 1/2 hour that I planned.  taking a lunch break now, then back to MIT #1.

kromer 8:30 CI

Today I need to get back into the swing of working after a long weekend off.

I have class today 9:30-12:30. I also have a mtg scheduled with PF for 3:30, but I haven't done much and I think it might be better to postpone. I also need to unpack, make a schedule for the week, and talk to AG.

Right now I'm going to unpack, tidy my room, email PF to postpone reading start making a schedule and head to class.

kromer 12:30 CI

Back from class, had some lunch, now it's time to work.

Before class I unpacked, tidied, and emailed PF to postpone mtg...I haven't yet made a schedule.

I'm going to make a schedule, then finish my problem set (due tomorrow), then check back here with a plan for the rest of the afternoon.

Update 1:00--made a schedule. Now I'm going to finish going through yesterday's lecture and finish my problem set.  Update again when that's done (should take about an hour).

Then I'm going to go to lab for 2 hrs, then I'll go to bio colloquium and head home.

kromer 2:30 CI

I finished pset and went through lecture...a little slow but not bad. Now I'm supposed to go to lab. I'm avoiding it because I feel guilty about cancelling today's mtg. But that's silly (and a recipe for not making enough progress this week either...). So I'm going to get off my butt and go to lab. I have two tasks to get done today on PF's project: finish getting esr dataset, and finish implementing clustering. I'll start with clustering, since that's been on my plate for weeks...I'm not sure I'll be able to finish implementing clustering in 1.5 hours, but I can definitely make good progress. I'll work in the chatbox, and check in again when I get home after bio colloquium (around 5:30).

kromer 6 CI

back from bio colloquium.  I went to lab (yay! and prof. was nice about me postponing mtg), and made some progress.

Now I'm going to have some dinner, then do some small tasks:
*check over midterm
*finish genetics pset
*spend 30 min reviewing genetics notes
*do laundry
*balance checkbook
*Finish implementing clustering

kromer 11 CI

Tonight has completely veered off track (I have some big decisions to make, tonight it became apparent that I have to make them very soon, and as a result I feel totally paralyzed.)

I took a couple hours to talk with friends about my situation, which I think was reasonable, and took some time to eat a good dinner, watch some TV and relax, which I also think was reasonable. However, in the last hour I've lapsed into procrastination. I'm going to take the next hour one step at a time, then I'll go to bed.

My first task is to go hang my laundry. Then I'm going to go over midterm answer key. Then I'm going to check in again.

Update 11:50--OK, going slowly but I hung my laundry up. Now I'm going to go over midterm, take a shower and go to bed.

Agnus 8:25am and 6pm

Hope everyone has a super day!

6pm - It feels good to cross off a few things, but my timing guesstimates were WAY off today. And I had to clean up the broken glass tabletop that shattered on the back porch, and bury the possum carcass (yep) that TJ found in the backyard...a day full of unexpected surprises. I want to put some more hours between that memory, and dinner, soooo...I'll keep working for awhile longer!

Agnus stuck, 7:30pm - and an e-greet!

I walked TJ and read personal emails, and just can't seem to make myself do one more thing tonight. I am tired. My back hurts. The anti-inflammatory gave me heartburn. On the up side, the temperature has dropped about 30 degrees in the last 12 hours officially signalling fall in Florida - my favorite season!  The air is filled with the delightful aroma of woodburning fireplaces. I really want to relax - and I really need to eat. So next right thing is: make and eat healthy dinner. Then I will ask HP for direction...but my guess is, I'm done for the day.

Happy birthday, e!  You have been an important contributor to my sanity in this recovery community, and I'm so glad you're part of it.

agnus ty

I had a very nice birthday, thanks Agnus, and in great part it was because of well-wishes like your's. It is particularly nice to hear that my own insanity helps someone out!

Journey 7:30

Good morning!  I am ready and willing to get some work done today, after a day off yesterday.   I caught up on housework and voted early.  Now that I have voted, I am done with all the political hoo-hah.   I want it to be OVER.  I have voted, so those guys can just Shut Up Already :)

So far today, I have been to the gym and given the cat his medication.  Making a cat swallow a pill is not easy!

I have been struggling with working from home on Tuesdays, so I'm going to try something different today:  instead of trying to force myself to work 8-5 and being unsuccessful, I'm going to let my day go from 7:30-7:30 and intersperse (sp?) work-related activities with housework and personal time.   I have two meetings, one at 11 and one at 12, other than that, I can set my own schedule.  The only restriction is that I am supposed to respond to an IM within 15 minutes, so I just need to keep an eye on my computer screen for pop-up messages.

So, I'm going to try to work one hour, then do something else for half an hour.  Setting my timer to keep me honest!

Next thing on the agenda, breakfast and MITs.

Jo

GeorgeSmiley 6:41 AM and updates

Back in my home office to finish project L.

Update, 10 AM

Finished Project L.

MIT#1: Project K -- Step 1

Update, 12 noon

No progress. Instead, various distractions, and some administrative tasks.

[Including winnowing my task list -- a necessary side-track]

I had opened this update at 11:30 and now it's noon--I got sidetracked again by a matter involving the Youth Class that Mrs. GS and I teach... Undecided

Getting lunch how. After that, Project K.

Update 1:25 PM

Very long break. Now beginning on Project K

Update 5:15 PM

Lots of self-induced interruptions, but I completed Step 1 on Project K.

MIT#2: Review my current task list again, update as needed.

Checking out for the night-7 PM

It's been a better day than most recently, but still much distraction and dithering. I'm signing off for the night and will return in the morning.

Thanks again for everyone's support...

e's early morning ci

I woke up at 4:30 and got up because it just seemed right. I have to be up for my son in an hour and a half anyway and I relish the idea of having some alone time. I am feelig in a better place right now than I have for a couple of days and while my day is not intended to be particularly productive, I feel like it has potential that way. It is my birthday today and my mother is taking me out to the movies and lunch, which should be fun.
