Hi Pro Buddies!

2 mice were in my ground-level bathroom cabinet this morning. I heard them when I woke up. Long story, but tonight some electric mouse traps are in the cabinet for them, if they come back. (The traps are supposed to instantly take care of them, so they don't suffer). Tomorrow I'll also try to buy & use some expanding foam putty -- I see where a slender opening is beside the sink pipe -- I think that's where they came in.

The rest of today was ok, but I feel isolated in dealing with the mice.

I went to a meeting tonight, but it didn't help significantly. At least it is now time to sleep (upstairs on the 3rd floor away from any mice!), and tomorrow is another day!

Note to self: "Keep coming back!" ;)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Journey 10:45 UPDATE 5:15

Late checking in, but I've been to the gym, read email, set mits, and taken care of two tasks . . . coffee break time!

5:15 Well, I ended up spending all afternoon on the long tedious project, which was MIT #1.   I was really into it, though, so I figured that I should get as much done as possible while I was in the mood.   So MITs 2-3 will move to Tuesday.   I'm taking a vacation day Monday to recover from babysitting all day Sunday, also I think I will try to get to the courthouse and vote.

Have a great weekend everyone!  I'm leaving work a bit early and may try to do a little grocery shopping on the way home.  Depends on traffic.  Yesterday the main street outta town was blocked by death penalty protestors.   I am opposed to the death penalty on the basic principle that two wrongs don't make a right, but if those a-holes block my route home again today I'll be ready to get out my gun and shoot the mofo myself.

CYA later, may check in from home if I get groceries, so that I can bookend putting them away . ..

Late CI for Lark, 10:23am

I went to my 12 step meeting last night, when I really should have worked around here, BUT I had the insight to try to apply my procrastination problem to the meeting by silently adding "procrastination". Though the topic and most of the comments were sort of removed, I think this may help me. For you other 12 step members, try it sometime. Back in the bad old days I often would use a certain liquid to overcome my procrastination, and it worked till it turned on me. Gosh, I don't suggest anyone try this at home. I just think I made a step forward in recovery. If anyone's interested in discussing this, perhaps we could start another thread.
Today:
finish MIT
do as much as I can on project A
clean and de-clutter when taking breaks

kromer 8:40 CI

Today I leave at 3:30 to catch a flight to California, and I'd like to get a good amount of work done before then.

MITs:
*Finish implementing clustering
*Try out post-processing idea
*Figure out where I stand on finding rotation lab
*Email PT

Scheduled:
*Seminar 11-1

Other tasks:
*Start taking notes for Tues mtg
*Finish getting esr dataset
*Get list of test datasets
*Try adjusting edge capacities

I'm going to start by working on clustering for 45 min. Then I'll email PT and figure out where I stand on rotation lab choice. Then I'll head to lab.

Update 10:45--didn't work on clustering, but did email PT and figure out where I stand on rotation lab choice. I'm going to microburst the work on clustering, then quickly review papers and go to seminar. After seminar I'll get lunch, then come finish clustering, try out PP idea and start taking notes for Tues mtg.

Update 1:45--back from seminar, lunch break was a little long but now I'm ready to work. I'm going to finish clustering now, then try out PP idea. I'll work in the chatbox to get this done.

financial reality bites

I made a tough phone call and found that I am eligible for some help, but I am in denial that I need it so I fell promptly asleep, thus procrastinated on filling out paperwork.  It feels horrible to put that out here. But then again, where else can I do so?

Now, to take proper responsibility and fill out some paperwork...

also, I am procrastinating on putting off applying for a couple of positions that I would be qualified for because I am afraid I will not get them. If I don't apply, then I won't know that I am not worth hiring....

how is that for twisted logic
