wearing "resistance" like a backpack

one of the things that i almost always have a great wall of resistance about is going up or down stairs to get something. Doesnt make any sense. Because how long does it take? 30 sec? But to me it feels like the world is coming to an end.

But after months now of feeling it, and living thru it, i had a new experience. I had to go downstairs to get something, and felt the resistance as always, but this time i said, "there's my old nemsis, Resistance". As i went down stairs and back up, it was as if i had to do so wearing a heavy backpack--my Resistance.

This was a new feeling, a new level of acceptance, or maybe moving from awareness, to acceptance, or maybe from intellectual acceptance (ie i've read step 1 and can identify myself in there) to gut acceptance (expecting myself to be that way and no longer surprised by it). Or something. It's actually surprisingly difficult to put it into words.

so i've been reading and am encouraged enuf to bookend the rest of my pa.org time. 5:15pm.

now it's 5:25==9 min plus whatever i did before. I'd love for there to be more people benefiting from the recover to be had here on the site, but OTOH i like being able to keep up with everyone.

Ok, now the hard work begins. MIMT 1 (Most Important Mini Task).

diversion--the other post herein :) anyway that was 6 min. And i did start MIMT 1. Now back to it.

5:35 that only took 2 more min. nice. Now MIMT 2 but be efficient. Could easily drag out.

5:48 ok 13, including a distraction, but it didnt last long.

Ugh, now dreaded MIT 1. Actually i'm looking forward to it, should be easy and fun. But i still dread it. And if you're wondering, yeah, i've stopped asking myself what's wrong with me :) :)

Journey 4:20 UPDATE 5:07

Home from shopping - took longer than planned, as usual :). The car is unloaded. Now, going to put up the cold stuff.

I want to get the groceries put away, make dinner, do the dishes, and then DO MY AUGUST BUDGET before I start overspending. We did pretty good today with groceries, and I did a bit of stocking up at Walmart and the drugstore, bought mega sizes of OTC stuff that we use all the time, and got a couple of pairs of jeans on clearance sale. No State taxes this weekend, woo hoo!

ok, putting groceries away then check back in half hour. When groceries are put away I can take a 10 min break before starting dinner.

5:07 groceries are put away, chicken is marinating.  10 minute break!  where is that pesky timer?

Back next week

Hi all,

I probably won't have much internet access in the next week, but I'll be thinking of you all and sending good vibes your way!

pro's (tardy) check-in - 1:45pm

My plan for today got siderailed because the place I was going to go is closed. I'm dressed, but haven't yet managed to switch gears - I always have problems with this.

I sort of want to go to the cafe for a while - hour of reading and being out of my apartment. Maybe then cleaning will be easier. It's hard when I haven't been out at all yet.

pro switching gears

Oh, my, me too.  I have a really hard time changing my plans in the middle.

Once I overheard dd talking with her friend, after they had thrown me for a loop with some school project or something that had to be done over the weekend.  The friend said "Is your mom mad?"  dd said "No, she's not mad.  She just doesn't like having to change her schedule.  She'll be all right in a couple of minutes."

How well that poor child knows her neurotic mother!

speaking of switching gears (and how bad I am at it)...

I went to the cafe to read "for an hour". 5.5 hours later, I'm just getting home. ((sigh))

I had fun, but my apartment is still dirty. Of course, it's not bedtime yet. I could start cleaning now.

Yes, sometimes a blessing and sometimes a curse!

CI for Lark, 1:17pm

Hi everyone. There've been few posts here lately, and even fewer regulars here lately. I hope everyone's okay. I've had help with work lately, and things have been going well. Nevertheless, I need to keep in touch with this program.
Today:
(X)morning things
spiritual time
(X)finish main work project
one section of next work project (A)
small section of work project B
clean kitchen table
mow some grass
prepare (at least) one load of laundry
clean kitty box
do something about Kitty's fleas (any suggestions?)
check in around dinner

Journey 8:45

What a lovely thread starter!

MITs are set for the day.  Item #1 is exercise.  Here I go!  yeah, I'm going . . . I just need to put on my shorts and get out the door . . . the rest will follow . . .

Journey 10:30

Exercise - MIT #1 - DONE

Grocery List - MIT #2 - DONE

Now to change and head to town, stop by and visit Mom&Dad, stop by Wal-mart - which will be a giant madhouse due to tax free weekend here in GA - then to the grocery store.  DD is gong with me so hopefully having her along will keep me from dawdling.  Although she will encourage me to overspend by buying stuff for her.  We will resist :)

Should be home around 3ish, will check in to stay on track with putting away the groceries and getting dinner prepared.  When I come home from running errands, I feel tired, and it's an easy time for me to sit down in front of the computer and zone out.  Later!

Recycler CI 5:55am EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

Mutually colliding plans this morning; at least they are All Good :)

This morning: bag up trash to take out; straighten lower level, start clothes in washer. Prepare gymbags to take with me when I go out.

A neighborhood Yard Sale last week had such good items. They are supposed to have a Sequel today at 7am. I may aim for 7am to go out, so I can check and see if they have anything new that looks good ;)

I probably won't have time for a bike ride today. Maybe tomorrow.

Where I work, we are having a workshop at 10am, which I will attend "as a civilian." However, I may go early. I need to do some things on the computer; which sometimes it's easier to use my work computer rather than my home computer.

I usually buy provisions on Saturday morning, but I don't need much today, so I might wait until later in the day ;)

I'll see how much I can get done now, and maybe Check In again later! :)

Have a Great Day! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Hi Pro Buddies!

Mixed success. However, I'm home now, so checking in :)

Work event went Marvelously :) Wheeeee!!! :) I also had some Free Time while there & got a personal project done :)

This morning I bought some paint for a room divider. Procrastinator clock engages now. I'm clearing off some room on the main level. Next I have to bring the room divider down from the 3rd floor. It may be in the morning before I paint it, but maybe through the rest of today I can get it into position.

Tasks accomplished: took out trash. put clothes in dryers & started a new load.

I don't have the gym bags fixed yet, but only have to make 3 for this week.

Last week's Yard Sale had all the good stuff, so didn't get anything else there today.

Next: goof off and read a book, with occasional trips upstairs to set up painting area for room divider.

Talk to you later! :)
