Hi all!
I am back at home and recovering well.
I have 10 days and hope to use them well before work starts again.
The list is substantial and includes:
1.get rid of THE BACKLOG
2.attend various appointments
3.make various phone calls and appointments for self and mother
4.deal with tax
5.deal with sorting of visible paper messes
6.apply for my mothers pension supplement
7.exercise self and dog every day
8.get medications and supplements
9.prepare work for my return.
10.rest, recuperate and have some fun
11. maintain house, self, work on relationship with sons and mother
I guess that this really belongs in the master lists and I will put in later. Meanwhile I am going to bookend 1 hour and I choose to:
*Pick up doggy dos, shower etc, load dryer, load washer, iron, unpack hospital bag, ALL Task 11
*Make medication shopping list Task 8
*listen to voice mail and make list of calls and phone numbers Task 3
report back at 10.45
Thank you recycler! I will try not to set myself up.
Here is the short List from previous post

i have the same urge to tell you to just relax and get healthy, but, lol, if i was recovering from minor surgery i'd have the same mindset--time off to catch up !
It's great if you can do some catching up on paperwork while you're on leave from work, but please make your recovery your highest priority. You just had surgery for pete's sake!

Today: early train, elliptical, stretching, e-mails from friends, did postal mailing project, wading through workshop prep for this weekend (on-going prep for next 2 days). Ate at restaurant for lunch, since "had to get out of the building." Bought a book for my upcoming trip to exercise conference. Rode train home.
Tonight: several emails for which to contemplate/reply. Contemplate several collectibles that I probably won't buy, plus one I probably will ;) I've started a load of clothes to wash, and something in the oven to cook. Feeling of relief to be home tonight and not have to go anywhere :) Will try to re-edit my CI with some updates. "if my electricity stays on." ha ha! ((sigh))
7:30pm Put clothes in clothes dryer. Started a load of dishes in the dishwasher. Let my cooked dish cool, and then had a snack :) Posted re the steps. Next: brush and floss teeth; wash & moisturize face. Move cooked food into storage container for fridge ;)
8:30pm. Brushed & flossed teeth. Washed & moisturized face. Put plastic wrap over cooked food, instead of re-packaging. Took clothes out of clothes dryer; folded & put away. Took clean dishes out of dishwasher; dried and put away. Wrote an e-mail letter to my friend. Next: write an e-mail letter to another friend, then go to bed early!!! ;)
Already finished spiritual stuff, committing my day, double-checking that my Contacts can transfer into my new pda/phone, and banking. Next MITs:
finish KRA bookeeeping and report to AF DONE - YAY!
review docs for today's team call Feeling stalled so breaking this down now in chat. DONE
1 p.m. 3-way call with NC and K DONE. New MIT: summarize key points in follow-up email and cc AF. DONE
DWS commitments I am going to have to tell them I need yet another day to complete and this feels really bad. they are my "nice" client (non-authoritative types) and so they suffer the brunt when my AFs get (or seem) demanding. OK, I made the call (they were so nice-Makes me feel almost worse!). I rescheduled my deadline to them for 1 p.m. tomorrow. Still must do today because tech support takes me down at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
3:30 pm team call DONE
Spend 30 minutes on Backlog
Schedule a healthy reward for myself - the Backlog is shrinking!

Took a (planned) day off yesterday, and now I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things.
Here are my work tasks for the day:
1)Look at results from node capacities+bottom limit on weights
2)fix bug in visualization of results, add connections to coregulators to the visualization
3)try out clustering, brainstorm ways of fixing remaining bugs
4)Get brg1 data set STARTED
And here are my non-work tasks
1)30 min researching who I want to workwith
2)email asking to miss youth group
3)deal with email
4)balance checkbook
5)Call home
If I have time, I'd also like to go to church cookout
I'm going to start with work tasks (1) and (2). Should take 1-2 hours total. I'm going to work in the chatbox, since sometimes that helps my focus, and update every 30 min.
Next up, I want to
*Email asking to miss youth group
*Get a healthy lunch *make it easier to change parameters in code *look at TFs/motifs connected to NRIP1 *Add coregulator connections to visualization *Add total connectivity to visualization *Make code to set node colors automatically *call home *brainstorm principled way of setting capacity
Work in the chatbox, updates as each of these small tasks are completed.
Making pretty good progress...did all of the above, plus dealt with 100 emails.
Next I'm going to start code for computing motif distances (to be used for clustering--code has finished running!
Then I'm going to work on getting Brg1 dataset (updates on subtasks once I figure them out)
Subtasks (as promised):
1)Get gb->rs mapping for 2nd array DONE
2)Make probe->rs files
3)choose refseq ids corresponding to each probe
4)Do preprocessing on sample files
5)Get sequences for all genes in sample
6)Get probe values for all genes in sample
7)Make files of most up/down regulated
By 5:45, I'm going to try and get 1,2,and 4 done, and have to code for 3) running while I'm at cookout.
I'm going to leave work at 5:45 and go to church cookout. Then I'll do some more work when I get home from that.
Made some progress getting dataset, went to church cookout, than sat on my butt for an hour and a half after I got back. Grr to me!
Because of this procrastination, I won't be able to finish all my scheduled takes for the day. But I think I can make more progress on getting dataset (finish 1, 2, and 4; start 3), make progress on clustering (look for outliers in distances, fix any very large distances with pseduocounts), and make a little progress on balancing my checkbook (I find this scary, so I'm just going to gather together my checkbook+record book)

well, i FINISHED a project today, at 9am. How many times has that happened in my entire life. not many.
But...
now i'm having trouble transitioning to the next task.
So...
I'm posting, going to have my quiet time, then going to do my mid-day things earlier than usual, then set MITs for the afternoon and do them.
Thanks HP for this intentionality and the strength to carry it out.
