bookend this site. started maybe 10, but then kids wanted me to put them to bed, so had to tear myself away, now i'm back at 10:30. Just be reasonable.
back at 10:44 -- 24 min, after being absent for 2 days, on a sat night. I can accept that.
back at 5pm. -- another 10 min (i hadn't read this thread) and 10 min w/ kids.
Hi all. Please forgive me for using this to talk to myself. It's cool to have the forum.

Let not the late posting time defeat me. I have not been idle. Exactly. Studying document indexing has got to have been good!
Okay. I have no more than 2 hours to
Clean my house (including dishes, fridge cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dry cleaning out the door)
Call Aunt about 23rd
Communicate about vacation time with A.
So I can then sit down for at least 2 hrs to do the following (these tasks might spill over to tomorrow morning, and I might spill over to my office if this kitchen table starts being a drag)
Format Stats tables (try again to understand table styles and excel imports, or do it the old fashioned way with the old template)
Make next to last round of text edits. Be very thorough.
Format TOC
Begin Indexing
Tonight I'd like to have a social life, but maybe I won't. Tomorrow at 3, I need to attend a family event.
By the end of the weekend, this house, your clothes, and the food situation needs to be ready for the week. And the book needs to be very nearly done. Monday laser proofing, last minute stats adjustments. Deeper indexing if you're really neat-o.
Hey. It's the season for me to be the pro. I must admit, it's sort of fun to be this engaged again. And, I must internalize that the main thing is to be DONE, not PERFECT! It's already better than it was! And you have permission to forgo the index, so don't lose sight of the priorities. Legible, accurate statistics are the ONLY thing you really need.
Go, go, go! I will check in about the state of the house in one hour. I have a huge resistance, but also know I'll feel so much better if this stuff is done.
Thanks fellow pros!

10 pm and I'm back. Embarrassed to say I'm not doing as well as I should. I guess I'm having trouble prioritizing. Or something. I did communicate with people, get the real printing schedule, prepare for getting the time off at the end of the week... I cleaned up some.. I studied more...
But I did NOT actually DO anything on the file. And now I just want to go to sleep... I wonder what kind of superhero move I'm gonna pull tomorrow? What a weirdo.
And I started my laundry, and had some lunch, and otherwise have been relaxing.
Now I choose to get a little work done, then I'm going to spend time with a friend who's moving next week
My main tasks for the day are:
*Grocery shopping
*Finish rand. tests code
*Write up pros and cons for node capacities
*Try bottom limit on weights
*Try node capacities
*Call home
I'm going to start by finishing the randomization tests code. I have an outline and a little code from yesterday, so I'll get those out and finish implementing.
In parallel, I'll try bottom limit on weights...that should take only a few minutes to implement, and most of the time will be just running code.
Updates every 30 min.
Update 2:30--started trying bottom limit, now going to move my laundry to dryer, make bed and work on rand. tests code.
Update 3:40--working pretty slowly, but I'm making progress on rand. tests code. I'm going to finish the code for writing random data files and start testing it out. Then I'm going to continue trying bottom weight limit. Then I'll fold my laundry and update again.
Well, it's almost 2 pm but I finally got up and started doing some stuff! My excuse is that I really was tired from working so much last week . . .But anyway, I have set my MITs for the day, and exercised. Now I'm going to have breakfast (Yes, breakfast!) and then give the giant dog a bath. I will allow myself to get on audible.com while I eat - that's where I get most of my audio books - and download a new book to listen to while I do housework today.

This morning: straighten lower level before bike ride. Depending on how the morning goes, I might keep re-editing my CI to keep up with any progress ;)
6:45am Emptied & put away gym bag, folded & put away dried clothes, started 1st load in clothes washer. Next: bike ride :)
Wow, my bike ride went great this morning! Not only did I have a great bike ride, I also spied items at a 7am yard sale. This month I'm in my rental condo, and in the next 2 months I move; so seeing these items, I went back & got my car ;) For $41, I got 3 etagere narrow high bookshelves and 2 "torch-height" candle stands/plant stands, all of which will be great for feng shui and/or storage. The $41 also included 3 collector Mickey Mouse plush. I got them all back to the house before it started sprinkling rain; then went on the rest of my bike ride, during which the rain sprinkle stayed light & then stopped. Then I went to the store for my regular provisions. Put load of clothes in dryer, and started new load in washer. Next: Scouting mission of some errands, before meeting friends this afternoon. Will I have time to check in again? We'll see! ;)

Tomorrow the printer will take the file away from me and it will be done. Better.
Before 8am.
Tweak to finish the three ads.
Re-do TOC.
Make those final corrections.
Deliver PDF to mgrs for quick turnaround.
House is clean, clean, clean.
Some socializing happened.
Plane ticket changed and schedule for press checks decided.
I will make my deadline and it will be a better document.
