kromer 9:35 CI

OK, today has pretty much been a waste...

Things I accomplished (short list, unforunately...):
*made a list of histone acetyltransferases
*dropped stuff off at goodwill
*went to Harambee
*got a bike, took a ride
*saw A
*called home

I'm going to try to focus for another hour and a half, then work well tomorrow. I think I'll have to work Saturday to make up for this week's unproductivity, but I'd like to be able to take most of Sunday off.

What I'd like to get done this evening:
*Get a list of histones
*Check EG->HAT mapping
*Get list of coactivators that are and are not HATs
*Look at coactivator->TF connections, make graphs and post online
*Look at connections between histones and coactivators

Also, I commit to being *in lab* by 8:30 am tomorrow.

OK, I'll start by getting a list of histones, check back when that's done.

kromer 10:25 CI

OK, I've gotten the list of histones, now I need to check EG to HAT mapping.

This is pretty easy and mindless, should take about 20 minutes. Back when that's done.

kromer 11:20 CI

OK, was interrupted in the middle by a phone call, but I've finished this now.

Next I'm going to look at connections of coactivators to TFs, make graphs, and post them. Back when that's done (about 40 min)

kromer 12:55 CI

OK, done with all the above, now I'm going to look up GO cats for 7 more proteins, then go to bed in 5-10 minutes. See you all in the morning!

Douglas

Hello everyone;
Long time no see. Still working to master procrastination. (It can be done.)

Just a note to say I miss you all. I am working hard.

Hi Douglas!

Miss you too, but glad you're working hard, best of luck!

Recycler CI 6:55pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

Today: walk, gym, treadmill, stretch, breakfast, work. During lunchtime I picked up book at the bookstore that I had ordered, along with some other books so it wouldn't feel lonely in the bag. More work, walk home, fix/eat dinner.

Tonight's theory: slow & steady wins the race. Tonight do small tasks such as get ready for bed early and straighten up the lower level, to make it easier for when the weekend gets here so that I will have some time to be creative with a decorating project :D

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Recycler

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

I'm using the thumb keyboard on my smartphone. I hate it, but I think if I get used to it I'll like it.

Trying to decide if I should continue reading a novel or get back to work.

Journey 9:30 and updates 9:55

Getting a slow start this morning. . . I was up too late again last night, I really want to get in the habit of going to bed earlier.  It's just so hard to go to bed before 10 no matter how early I get up.  I slept well though, and I have been to the gym and read my email.

I think I need coffee . . . I didn't accomplish a lot yesterday due to having a bunch of meetings, and stressing out over a financial issue - which is taken care of now! - amazing how facing a problem and dealing with it causes less stress than just worrying about it.  How many years has it taken me to realize that??  I'd rather not say . . .

Coffee, then MITs.  Back at 10.

Update 9:55 The !@#$% coffeepot was empty again! I made a fresh pot and came back to my desk.  MITs are easy - same as yesterday.  Going to get that coffee now, and then pick on the scripts where I left off last night.  Check back 11.

Journey 11 am and updates @ 11:37 1:45 3:30

Not a lot of progress on the scripts . . . I've done some desk straightening and list making, which needed doing, but not on my list of MITs.  To work!

Update 11:37:  The test system script is done!  Now I just need to look up my notes on how to load and test it.  I scheduled the test for tomorrow.  Taking 5 minutes to bask in the glory of finishing this task, then plan the load and test.  Back at 12:30.

Update 1:45 The load is planned but not the test.  I spent my lunch break reading Dave Ramsey's web site, the Total Money Makeover.  I really need a money makeover!  Maybe I'll win the lottery . . . Back to work, I should be finished with these scripts for the day shortly.

Update 3:30 Well, the job to load the data for the test was broken so I had to fix it.  Then a coworker brought to my attention a mistake I made when I was oncall last time . . . oops! . . . but fortunately it was very minor.  It COULD have been bad though, so I have to double check that thing in the future.  So, still working on scripts.  Back at 4:30

Update 5:40 data for test is still not loaded, but had to stop and do some end of month status stuff that I promised for today.  I'm still having problems with the data load job - now I'm missing the brilliant coworker, she wrote the job and could probably fix it in 10 minutes lol.  Anyway, I've had all the fun I can take today.  I'm going home, after one more quick status report.

Tonight - pick up dinner, finish last nights dishes and fold some laundry.  GO TO BED EARLY!

 Have a great evening!

restless

Maybe I jumped the gun. Need to get dressed and get outside for a bit. Then maybe I can settle down. Hard to without any exercise, any going outside, any human contact.

Maybe I'll go to the gym? Or the store - I need milk, butter, tissues.

work on pile at coffee shop

I'm back, and I think I'll try something new. I'm going to pack up my computer and all my papers and work at a coffee shop. I think that may help me.

finding unpaid bills in pile

For example, I didn't pay my renter's insurance (again) so I'm not covered. :(

can't pack up pile

I want to work on this in the coffee shop, but as I try to pack it up, I realize it isn't practical. So much of what I have to do is filing.

Once I get the pile cleaned up, I can go to the coffee shop to work on the accounting.

kaoba 7:30am

I have not been doing well procrastination-wise. Procrastination has been having the upper hand. At some point I do react and start moving again, though. So, this seems to be the day when I come up for air and start moving for a while.

By 8:00am, in about half an hour, I need to be sitting down to work on a report I have due tomorrow. Between now and then I'll:

( ) brush and floss
( ) pick up as much of the kitchen as possible

Lark at 4:29 am

Hi. I can't sleep, so I thought I'd check in. I really don't know what I want to do later, but this is a start. See you later.

Lark at 10:46am

I've been making wonderful progress, but on something that isn't the least bit urgent. If I haven't crossed the insanity border, it's gotta be close, then. There's one thing I've been putting off for over a week which needed finished, well, for a week. Geesh. Well, back to the grindstone...

Edge's CI - 10:37AM

G'morning :-) Today I learned that it can be potentially fatal (and most certainly painful) to do yoga while your crazy cat is in the room with you.

I finished everything on my to-do list yesterday "except" my studying :p So today I'm going to focus on studying and leave everything else for later :-)
Hope everyone has a good day :-)

re: yoga with cats

Same goes for gigantic dogs!  There is nothing like lying in final relaxation pose thinking about breathing - and then getting a faceful of labrador tongue!

re: yoga again

There's a hilarious you tube video - I'm not going to look for it now as that would be procrastination! - but I'll find it later and post it.  It's called "Why moms can't do yoga".
