c ci/co 12:30am good day

was on a field trip most of the day. Still was productive on MITs in the gaps. Made progress.

Last hour or 2 of the night, lost focus a bit. Didnt know which MIT to work on, or even if they were ready for more action. I'll try to be more deliberate with those tmorrow.

e's thankful checkout

I am so grateful for this fellowship today. I managed to have three naps today, do a bunch of laundry, fold it, teach my 14 year old son how to do some ironing. My husband made a healthy, tasty dinner. The dishwasher is ready to roll. But the kicker was that I was able to get into the chatbox and work on paperwork that has been hanging out rotting. There is a lot more to do, but I am really REALLY glad it is there.

And I am glad that all of you are there.

 see you tomorrow!

Falcon CI Wed.

Hi all,

I'm home from work today, with several frogs to consume, all staring at me with an "I dare you" look in their bulgy amphibious eyes.

None of the stuff I need to do is very time-consuming, it's just stuff that takes psychic energy to do.

  • Sort & file papers
  • Balance checkbook
  • Mail that shote bag fusking insurance form
  • Pay bills
  • Call about roll-over
  • Call about account
  • Look up recommended doctors
  • Call doctor about next steps for treatment
  • Change sheets
  • Run some loads of laundry
  • Empty & refill dishwasher
  • Do exercises
  • Practice music
  • Answer emails
  • Take a nap

Falcon

Falcon CI, forgot to say. . .

So, first up:

  • Eat breakfast
  • Brush teeth
  • Send that stupid insurance form -- maybe getting that particular frog out of the way will generate a little celebratory energy.

I should be able to do all that within the next half hour, & will check back in.

Falcon

Falcon slow CI

O.k., so that took me over an hour (cause I'm a slowpoke, and cause I had to look up the insurance address for the hundred and fifty billionth time.)  But at least now I'm in motion & rolling.

Next:

  • Sort laundry & put a load in
  • Balance checkbook

Falcon

Falcon in slo-mo

Whoo, I'm more out-of-it today than I realized.  I'm home from work because I'm under the weather, but had thought I could get some non-physically-taxing stuff done.  Turns out my brain is more fogged-out than I thought, and I'm not up for doing stuff that takes much thinking, either.

So, I'll keep working on stuff, but slo-o-o-owly and with time in between to doze or just stare vacantly at the ceiling awhile.

I got an important bill paid, and the second load of laundry is in.  I'm going to take another shot at the checkbook & see if I have enough functioning brain cells to make sense of it.

Falcon

Falcon evening CI

O.k., not doing too bad.  I did some more laundry, balanced the checkbook (and determined that nothing is about to bounce, yay!) got the bills ready to go as soon as I get stamps, called the doctor (& had to leave a message; we'll see if they ever call me back, ha!) and practiced music.

To do this evening:

  • Forage for food & eat dinner
  • Another load or two of laundry
  • Tidy up
  • Unload/load the dishwasher

Falcon

Good job, Falcon!

You dealt with the "fusking insurance form" Laughing

You called the doctor.

You balanced the checkbook.

You paid bills.

You did laundry.

You practiced music.

All stuff so easy to procrastinate on -- especially on day home sick from work

But you overcame!

Thanks, moving!

Hi movingalong,

Hey, thanks!  And I even changed the bed linens, so I can now go collapse onto some nice clean sheets.  Zzzzz. . .

Good night,

Falcon

Journey 9:30

Good morning!  Off to a pretty good start this morning.  I've been to the gym, read AND processed all my email, and set my MITs for the day.

I went to bed early last night and I feel much more organized and focused today.  Guess I should make getting enough sleep an MIT every day lol!

I did an interesting experiment today, I put a time estimate next to all the tasks on my workday todo list.  It came to 11 hours.   That's crazy!  Of course I can't do all that in one day!   Then, I counted up the time for my workday MITs and it came to 5.5 hours.  Now that's doable, and allows for interruptions, unexpected tasks, and breaks.   So, if I get all my MITs done today I will be a happy camper.

Next item on the agenda is coffee, then eat a frog - making a simple phone call to reschedule a doctor's appt.  I've been putting this off for weeks.

Have a great hump day!

Journey

p.s. my newly organized office walls and bulletin board look great!  much less distracting.  The only things on my walls are a calendar and two family photos.  The only things on my bulletin board are three diagrams that I refer to a on a daily basis, and a map of the world.  Next I need to tackle the drawers and shelves, but they aren't so bad.

Journey 10:20 Update 11:45 12:10 1:20 2:30 3:45 4:50

Phone call made, yea!  Nuthin' to it, yet planning to make a phone call feels like going to slay a dragon.

Next I'm going to spend an hour preparing for tomorrow's change meeting, then I'll take a nice break and allow myself to read the online news for 15 minutes or so.

Back before noon . . .

Update 11:45 Break time!

Update 12:10 Break over! gonna do 1/2 hour of prep work for some ip address changes then have lunch.

Update 1:20 done, took longer than I thought but it's lunch time now!

Update 2:30 I totally forgot that I had a conference call at 1:30, but that was ok as all I had to do was listen in. I'm on another conference call now, but it will take a little more participation from me :)  I can still multi-task though.

Update 3:45 I did my June budget during the meeting lol.  Still not pretty, but ok.  I'm gradually getting my finances back into shape.  Not perfect yet, but better .  K, 1.5 hours left in this work day . . . checking my planned MITs for the day . . . ah, I will work on DR scripts for an hour, then check back.   MITs rock!  It makes that decision about what to do next a LOT easier.

Update 4:50 not making much progress on scripts, posting to give myself that final push.  I'm not focusing well, guess I'm coming to realize that is a sign of being tired. I'll work til 5:30 then get outta here.

Tonight, pick up dinner, spend 1/2 hour doing laundry and dishes and get to bed early.

Simple phone calls

Hi Journey,

Ooh, yeah, what is it about those simple phone calls that makes them seem like boulders in the road?  I've got a bunch of them to make today, so I'll think of you & send good phone vibes your way!

Meanwhile, congratulations on prioritizing your MITs, and on your beautifully organized office!  I bet it's feeling good to have your work environment the way you want it to be!

Falcon

Thanks Falcon

I made my phone call, it took 3 minutes and was easy as pie.  Why DO those phone calls look like mountains instead of molehills?

Good luck on your calls today.  I'm glad I only had one.  And I'm really grateful for email.

Lark at 9:40 am

Hi folks. I need to get moving, so I'll do an amended CI a little later. Morning things are all done, but I need to make phone calls, order things, and put some stuff away before it rains here. I can see from the side box that some folks aren't having very good days. I hope things get better really soon for you all. Take care.

e's still home sick ci

I was intending to go back to work today out of guilt for having been sick yesterday when I realized that I really was not well and that it was okay to take care of myself. I have rested, done some laundry and dishes, and generally puttered around. And I am watching myself play reruns in my head about how others will judge me poorly for not being there, etc.

For today:

take care of myself

putter around fixing and straightening

organize my thoughts for tomorrow

Judging sickies

Hi E,

Would you judge other people poorly for taking care of themselves when they're sick?  If people do judge you that way, seems to me that's their hang-up, not yours.

Good for you that you're making taking care of yourself a priority!  Hope you feel better soon!

Falcon

judgement for taking sick days

I used to work with a guy who ALWAYS took two days off when he was sick.  He explained to me one time that when you are out sick for one day, people are sometimes suspicious.  But when you take two days off, everyone says "Wow, he must be really sick!"  So you get the time to recover AND you get sympathy!  Can't beat that.

judgement

That is exactly it, Falcon. I don't have any reason to believe they would be judgemental in that way, but I am judging myself from the sidelines. Microstep by microstep I am getting a bit better about that....

E still sick

They don't want you there if you're really sick.  Take care of yourself!

Edge's CI - 11:30AM

Hi, everyone.

Been having a rough time getting moving lately, but will attempt to change that today :-)

My main priority right now is studying. Exam coming up in a week. Barely finished enough of my material. Will push myself this week to cover everything.

Also:
- get ticket refund
- email Ice
- wash litter box

I'm struggling with severe demand resistance, it's kind of crippling. But if I force my body to move, it will move. Mind over matter.

Hope the rest of you have better luck with your to-dos :-) Stay strong!

higher power

I am often where you are, Edge. Sometimes, just sometimes, I can remember to turn it over to my Higher Power and let him/her deal with my anxiety so I can get on with the work.  I imagine you are not old enough to have played vinyl records, but they used to skip when they got scratched, so the same phrase would play over and over again. When I ask my Higher Power for help, it feels like HP takes the needle off the record and moves it on to a new place.

And there is always the chatbox!

lots of hugs, e

Sending encouragement to Edge

You can do it, edge!
