lad CI

Hey everyone,

I think I've been absent for a few days, but for once the absence was due to high productivity!!  I got my thesis to my adviser today (at 5 pm) for the last edit before I give it to my committee members--yay!!!!!

Anyhoo, flying high for once so I wanted to share.  :)

Cheers!

~lad

CONGRATULATIONS Lad!!!

CONGRATULATIONS on your big accomplishment! I know you must be feeling wonderful right now and I hope you will have the chance to take some time to celebrate achieving your goal. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SmileSmileSmile

Thank you! :)

I still feel good a day later.  I feel so much more relaxed and have been able to get some other stuff done now.  I am just now sitting down to work on the presentation that will go with my thesis.  I got good reviews 2 weeks ago when I gave it, so I'm not so stressed about the changed that need to be made.  I can't believe I'm making it!!  :)

AND I got a job offer yesterday!  This should prod along another company I'm interested in also, but even if not, I'd be happy with this one.  Yay, yay, yay!!  :D

~lad

Julie's 8 pm CI

No human being could possibly get all of these things done in one day, but I'm going to try (: Even though I know I won't get them all done, I will attempt to get through as many items as I can.
I hope everyone has a great day!

Kaa - 3:01 pm

Hi guys, I didn't check-in much these days, and I didn't get much done. Gotta get back on track.

Todo today :
Finish article about VN
Then tell C about it
Then tell C about the lense
Take an appointment with dentist
Quick, finish translating C&H, I'm nearly done !

journey 9:50

Good morning - running late this am - dh locked his keys in the truck and I had to go rescue him :)
Didn't get here til 9:30, had a quick item to take care of and have a meeting at 10 so just a quick check in and see you all later!

J.

journey 11:30

A day full of meetings
Just finished one
Another at noon
Another at 1:00
Yet another at 4:00

In the time that is left, I will:
Start on club roster
Check panels
Count calories
Call em about car
pay traffic ticket
work on team guidelines
stop by drugstore
dishes and 15 min.  laundry

wanted to test SAD today but I see it's impossible, postponing that til tomorrow

I'm tired and grumpt today; partly tired from babysitting a one-year old all day yesterday and partly  because most of the day will be spent doing tasks that require interaction.  I much prefer hiding in my office and doing things with the computer and email, but today requires a lot of face-to-face.  I don't really dislike being social, but it's stressful for me.  I'm such an introvert!

J.

journey 3:00

oops just found out I have a 3:00 meeting too!  lol, I guess i won't really get any work done today.

J.

Journey 5 pm

I've had all I can take for one day.  I got a few little things done in between meetings, and I guess the meetings are important too but it's been unpleasant.  I'm going to leave early to make up for coming in late, and hope for a better day tomorrow.

J.

and what a morning it is....

I signed onto this sight and was frightened to see my image learing back at me for today's greeting: Edge, how you managed to hack into a photograph of me this morning is beyond me.

I am feeling completely blah today, I am back at work, have extremely painful tennis elbow, have no energy at all, and it is humid today. The sky has that headachy gray color of a day that hasn't decided if it will rain or shine.  Yesterday was a mixed bag: it was my birthday and no matter how low my expectations are set, I seem to always be disappointed. However, my responses are totally out of whack: I freaked out because my husband didn't bring back the right type of socks for my children from the States and you would have thought that my heart had been broken by the way I carried on. I apologized for my reaction and then continued to rant and rave. I made a fire in the fireplace which was lovely and took a nap and that helped, but I was dismayed to see clutter grow on chairs while I wasn't looking. Sigh. Sometimes having a family is not always a welcome gift.

Today it is even hard to set goals, but here goes.

ci picked up medicine X
reschedule doctor appointments
finish annual report
walk to work X
finish paperwork sort
write tax guy
cook dinner
look over homework

I am sure there is more, but nothing else is coming to mind.

Lol, Elizaveth

Sadly, that picture resembles me too closely today as well. Here's to a brighter tomorrow, eh?

Re: and what a morning it is...

You're a good writer, elisaveth! I enjoyed reading your description. What country do you live in?

Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.

re; re:

Thank you, Pro, I am a transplant from the States living in Athens for the past year. I enjoy writing, but never have done so professionally. However, I feel like most of the folks here who post seem to teach or to write or to preach, all of which seems very familiar: I wonder if there has been a study of procrastinators alligned with professions! My father was a minister, my mother was a teacher, and I am not quite sure which profession I am in anymore: currently an archivist, prior to that a school librarian. I like what I do, but somehow, there is karma in organizing other people's stuff, when I do such a miserable job of handling my own things!

procrastination among writers and preachers

A minister was active in our group for a while, though she doesn't post anymore. We also had a professional organizer posting for a while. She carefully guarded her anonymity because she was so afraid of being found out by her clients!

Writers are famous procrastinators (and famous alcoholics, for that matter - not all, but a surprisingly high percent).

Hmmmm....

Things have not gone as smoothly as I had hoped. I had forgotten that I had until the end of the month to send off an ungent appeal letter and I had to find the original file which was in a top cupboard. So now I have pulled out many different files and have a mess. I have written and sent the letter together with the others and now need to tidy up my flies or I'll be in worse mess.

Rexroth 18.41 GMT

Well I've sorted the files out. I had taken out a number of files and taken the papers out and mixed them up, not a very organised way of getting things done. I've worked out my rent and I am at fault as I misread the last rent statment. Landlords are also at fault as they say I owe much more than I do. I phoned them earlier and said I would wait for their accounts, pay in future by standing order and pay what I owed. I wish I could work more efficiently.

and so to bed.

Stalling

It's really cold today and I'm kind of stalling - I need to take a shower but the temperature isn't very encouraging  Sheer willpower will get me out of this chair. Yup. Here I go.

Ok, seriously, I'm getting up now.
