Friday evening

Hi all,

To do:

Practice music
Eat dinner
Research used cars for tomorrow

Falcon

And even got directions

Done!  And even looked up directions to the car dealers.  Can now go to bed feeling smug.  ;-)

Falcon

Way to go!

Your day looks great!  Your music reminder reminded me that I have music practice nowhere in my day, and nowhere do I have it listed.  Yet it is extremely important to me and one of my major goals.  This means I need to check my priorities, I'm drifting again......

I'm glad you got so much done!

lad 4:30 CI

Yay!!  Worked hard all day and just emailed thesis to advisor.  Now to get ready for the wedding....

Have a great weekend you guys!  (I'll be here...  ;))

~lad

Finished thesis?

You should at least write that in CAPITAL LETTERS!!!!!
That's wonderful!  I bet you feel 50 pounds lighter!

peg

Thanks, peg.

Wow.  I'm used to a different forums program so I haven't been seeing when others reply to my posts.  OOPS!  Sorry.  :(

Anyway, thanks for celebrating with me, Peg.  The reason I wasn't ecstatic was I had three more drafts to go before I gave it to my committee.  Now after the latest turn-in only ONE MORE DRAFT TO GO!!  *before I make revisions based on my defense*  :)

STILL TO DO:
Eat frogs on desk   ::barf::

DONE:
X Call about car
X Ask D about Saturday
X Appt for Saturday morning?
X 2 Laundry
X "Getting Things Done" book out
X Balance in checkbook
X Print out bank
X Go get mother's Rx's

I gotta read "Getting Things Done" again, I forgot most of the "IN" process (if that tells you how long it's been....).  Maybe it will help motivate me, too.  I love the book, it's the only one that truly made sense to me!

GTD

Hi Peggy,

Good to see another GTD fan!  I have a job that involves tracking dozens of projects of various sizes, and I find GTD invaluable, though I haven't yet managed to implement it at home & make it stick.

Although, as the intro page to this site says, procrastination is not a time management problem, I do find that using GTD helps me a bit with procrastination because of the focus on identifying the next action, which helps me get less overwhelmed looking at a big amorphous task.

What is it about desks that attracts frogs, I wonder?  They seem to congregate on mine, too.  Best of luck with yours!

Falcon

LOVE GTD!

Yo Falcon,

I don't keep up with it 100% of the time, and I still get bogged down, but it keeps me from letting important things slip through the crack because everything is still captured in my system, even if I procrastinate.  And the emphasis on the next action was a lightbulb moment for me, best time management nugget ever.  The system works for me as long as I keep it very simple.

pro's CI - 1055am

My text cursor is now a Hebrew character, which annoys me. I tried changing my cursor theme in hopes it would be fixed, but it's not.

I was up for a couple hours in the middle of the night (migraine) and then overslept - almost missed a meeting (I'm working from home).

Journey CI 9 am

Again, I did ok at work yesterday, and I planned on checking in as soon as I got home, but instead I played a video game for hours.  Playing video games in my free time is fine, but I wanted to get just a few chores done before.  Tonight is Friday night, so no chores tonight (yay!) but starting Monday I will check in as soon as I get home!  Maybe I'll do it from the blackberry so I won't have my games right in front of me whispering "play me"  lol.

Rexroth 15.59 BST

Oh dear! For reasons that I don't understand I thought it would be a good idea to move a load of furniture from my bedsitting room to the kitchen so that I, or someone else, could start painting. I've done it and produced a heck of a mess. I've put away my expedition stuff and am now having a rest. I hope it will all work out in the end.
