I should be in bed, but I wanted to post first. I really only accomplished one major thing on this list today, but I did do some fun things with my family and that is important too. It was unrealistic of me to expect to get all the things done I put on my list with all the family stuff I did today. Someday I will learn how much is realistic for me to accomplish on any given day-maybe (:
Hi everyone,Hope your day is going well! I have to travel next weekend to a conference and have a very busy week coming up and I'm trying not to be overwhelmed just thinking about it(: I need to focus on one thing at a time, I know, but that is sometimes difficult to do with several deadlines looming...If I can get a few of these things done that would make the upcoming week much easier to deal with, so here goes:
Completed: Look at abstract form for conference-this was due by tommorow at midnight so I went ahead and spent a couple of hours and completed it and got it emailed in tonight-yea! Morning routine Fun family stuff with my daughters and saw a movie with my husband (:
Still to do: Grade website assgn. Clean spare bedroom-15 minutes Take pictures for b-day project-I've started on this Study 3 sections of Spanish-started on this Walmart Transcribe tape Email L.? Put new bedspread on Clean up pet's room-15 minutes Return video Finish picking up living room
So I haven't been feeling too good this weekend which has contributed to me not doing much of anything. Got a few basics done but didn't even do my stretches yesterday. My back/neck are not happy about that!
Anyway, just wanted to check in so I feel like I have a chance to get something done tomorrow.
I'm going to bed now so hopefully my bug will be gone in the morning. Hmm... maybe I should do a little planning before I turn out the lights, though. Yes, I'll do that.
I get so frustrated how I'll make good progress and begin to get a little confident that procrastination can be beat on a regular basis... that's a good indication I won't get anything or else much of anything done the next day. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
Anyhoo, some good things have happened this weekend, I just feel sick beyond this bug that I am unable to control my life and be a good steward of my time.
If anyone has thoughts they'd be appreciated... If not, I understand.
I'd like to do some more reading on this site but that always makes me feel guilty... that I should be working. *sigh* ok. Going to bed. It should look better in the morning.
Don't be too hard on yourself. We have all spent a long time working on our "Procrastination Skills" and we won't be able to change overnight. I feel exactly the same way as you do. It sometimes seems that no matter how hard I work, I'm still behind. I'm learning that it's important to celebrate even small successes and the many things that I do really well. I'm also trying to cut myself some slack and learn to relax a little. That may sound funny, but I think if I'm procrastinating on important tasks, that even if I'm doing nothing, I'm not really relaxed. (It's hard to relax with a big frog staring at you!) It's also hard to relax when you're behind all the time. So I'm trying to work on using my time more wisely and learning to RELAX! So don't forget to take care of yourself. Get some rest and I hope you will feel better and things will look brighter in the morning.
Thanks for the input. Actually, you're quite right. I've been doing what you said the last few days and have had fabulous results! Something about not being too hard on myself and realizing the Higher Power isn't as hard on me as I think He (it? um...) ought to be.
I dunno but something very right has been happening the last few days--and I've been taking care of myself! Thanks for reminding me to relax! :)

Like Kaa said, I'm behind now so I need to catch up today. Thinking this way gets me deeper into trouble, because I make a totally unrealistic list of things that need to be done and then I get overwhelmed and do none of it. So, keeping that in mind I'm making a doable list - man it's hard not to put stuff on the list that I KNOW won't get done today, but NEEDs to get done. I guess that's what GTD is all about, but that's a topic for another post. OK, here goes:

OK, I just tried to post my first image, we'll see if it worked . . . I hope no one is offended by this, it made me laugh so I thought I'd share it with you guys.
...I think I can, I think I can -- it will forever be replaced in my mind with The Little Train That Didn't Give a Rat's Ass! I fluctuate wildly between the two - I do mean WILDLY! haha
If we couldn't laugh about this, where would we be, I ask you?
I'm so late on my work that I'll have to work on a sunday, again .

Write two pages about i***, which sucks because it's sunday.
*** less important ***
Take bookshelve appart, saw and throw in the garbage. I want to do that first because it's good sunday fun, but I won't, I'm gonna write those bloody pages first.
Bunch of things to do today. . . Finish laundry Fold & put away huge heap of laundry Meditate Go to class Go to bank! Write grocery list & get groceries Plan & prep for Monday Email L.
Hmm, now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I'll put in a load of laundry, then work on all the planning-type things before class (grocery list, Monday plans, meditate, maybe draft email) That way, after class I can just implement without too much stopping to think.

Is what anyone else would say if I told them: I finally spent 20 minutes working on my club's budget, after I've been putting it off for three weeks.
It's way cool that I can tell you guys. I'm glad I found this site.
