Edge's CI - 12:17AM (Tuesday)

It's actually 16 minutes into Tuesday on my side of the planet, but I'm going to post this here anyway - will check it when I wake up to get me motivated.

Basically, I'm in a bit of a deep end. I've got a final exam in little over two weeks and I haven't studied anything - literally, anything, and I'm talking about a scary amount of material to cover. I've been postponing starting on it because I was supposed to take lessons with this institute that specializes in the subject I'm taking, except that their timings conflicted with my work schedule, and I had to leave them. Now I'm frantically looking for a private tutor to help me out, except that I can't find any available and/or affordable ones and I'm really starting to panic. I've been studying the theory part of my exam alone, but I'm in serious need of help with the practical part.

All I want to accomplish when I wake up Tuesday morning is:
- Confirm with possible tutor whether he'll be coming over or referring me to someone else
- Check possible textbooks that cover the practical part
- Call S to check about the tutor she mentioned
- Call M about B coming on Wednesday
- Finish at least two sections
- Cover DCS

All right.  This memo has been kicking my ass in procrastination for a week or so.  I worked on it a little last night, just to get over that fear of starting.  I've set the timer for 15 minutes, I've got my tunes queued up, and I'm just going to type and not worry about what I'm typing.  Will edit after.

Wish me luck!

I'm now running late. Why? Because I got on the computer after my last post - always my downfall. I need to move my butt.

pro's first check-in - 8:40am

It's October already - amazing!

I got up early this morning, but I had a lot of clean-up to do because I went away for the weekend and didn't unpack before I went to sleep last night. I also have to water the plants. It's been two weeks - they're going to die if I don't.

I'm almost done with all this now. I won't get to work at 9am, but I don't want it to be past 10am!

"Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power."

comics fan, i take it?

I have a bunch of friends who are really into DC.  I only read a couple of things... currently Buffy s8, Runaways, and The Umbrella Academy.

Hello Scarlett. =)

Not exactly, but I did derive the name from Robin's future persona (Nightwing). :) I was looking for a new username that had the same dark, mysterious connotation as my other ones yet with the androgyny the previous lacks. One day I came across the character including his animated self, and quickly decided that his name would be my moniker. It had such a ring of mystique & sensation to it!

Of course, I have another sn (back to greek mythology!) I'm more in favor of using for other forums, but I still like this one.

Anyway, what sort of comics would you read if you had the chance? And how are you progressing so far since you've joined PA?

Anyway, what sort of comics would you read if you had the chance?

Comics are hard for me, b/c I read them so quickly.  10 minutes or so and I've read one issue twice, once for text, once for pictures.  I tend to wait and buy the trades, if at all.  Plus, DC and Marvel have so much backstory and multiple AUs... not to mention the sexism rife in comics... I'm much more into TV (which of course has its own issues).  However, I like pretty much everything Brian K. Vaughan does, and a lot of Neil Gaiman's stuff.

And how are you progressing so far since you've joined PA?

Well, it ain't a straight ascent out of the pit, but I didn't expect it to be.  Tongue out  I leave and come back, and leave and come back.  I like the peer accountability of PA, not to mention the links and articles.
