Gwen D: 7:20 PM Attempt

Hi all.

I don't feel very good. Not bad, bad, necessarily, but I haven't done the right things today. Not really. Number one. I didn't eat. Just one bag of chips. I don't know why I couldn't eat more. There are a million reasons, probably. Number two. My extra freelance job is still not getting done. It's just sitting here waiting for me to start on it. I am so tempted to take time from my real job to get it done this week. But the truth is I have real work things to solve at work. Plenty to do. No spare time. I am in denial. I am gearing up for a vacation week, the first in more than three years. Going to NYC for fun. This should be good, but I'm secretly nervous. Will I be able to be prepared to go? In other words, will the newsletter magically get done in time for me to leave the city with it FINISHED??? Okay. Like I said, I don't feel too good.
I also have to do laundry. And I should vacuum. and straighten up a little.
Okay. Okay. Really. The thing I need to do is: EAT. and lay in the text of all restaurants. Do it quick and .... Why do I think this won't take any time at all? It will. I need to start immediately.

All I can say is I'm a case study in procrastination techniques. I don't seem to be really breaking the habit. My life is different with a full time job and I do accomplish things at that job on a timely basis. It's done a lot to change my life. But, on my own time I need to work on this habitual lackadaisical-ness (lackadaisicality?).

I sort of ate (as much as I could)
I did laundry
I vacuumed
I straightened up.
I did NOT do the newsletter layout.
It's 11pm and I've paired and rolled my last pair of socks. It's time to get to bed so I can start my work week. Funny how I worked things that way. I get the sense of accomplishment, but did everything except the thing that I really needed to do. I'm sure I'll steal the time from something else to finish this. And I will feel very guilty.

Journey's 8:30 CI

Hope everyone had a good weekend!  Today was a pretty good day.  I didn't get everything done that was on my list but I worked pretty steadily and took reasonable (for me) breaks.  Much better than yesterday
:P

DONE:
-Clean out the fridge
-Color hair
-Straighten house
-dust bedroom
-straightened the bathrooms and wiped off the counters
-two loads of laundry
-Make dinner
-Clean kitchen
-Find forms for SL stuff and figure out what to do next
--Prep for tomorrow

Do this stuff on Tuesday:
-Change cat litter
-Feed birds and hummingbirds
-water plants
-September Budget
-One item from the mending pile
-Vacuum bedroom
-tanning bed
-Start filling out that stupid form - work on it 15 minutes

Worked on the SL form a little bit - this is one thing I've been putting off forEVER.  I didn't do much but I made a start.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Journey CI - 11 am

Good Sunday morning!

Yesterday was a "work from home" day for me and I wasn't very productive.  I planned on multi-tasking and getting some chores done while I did mindless work stuff like listen to conference calls but I wasn't very successful, then I stayed up late playing video games.  :((

So today, I gotta catch up lol

TO DO:
-Clean out the fridge
-Color hair
-Straighten house
-dust and vacuum bedroom
-sort laundry - wash, dry and fold one or two loads
-Make dinner
-Clean kitchen
-Work project #2 (one task)
-Find forms for SL stuff and figure out what to do next
-Do September budget
-One item from the mending pile
-Prep for tomorrow

If time - this stuff can wait til Tuesday if needed
-Change cat litter
-Feed birds and hummingbirds
-water plants

This may be too ambitious of a list - I need to not get overwhelmed by a huge list, because when I do that I end up doing NADA.   THe financial tasks need to get done, but I can work 15 minutes on each of the three financial tasks and stop.  I can handle that, I think!

Happy Sunday, next check in at . . .um . . . 4 pm.  Midafternoon is when I usually fade off into non productive land, so maybe the check in will keep me on task!

Jump start

Hi all,
I know it's still Saturday, but I wanted to get a jump start on tomorrow, so I thought I'd go ahead and start this thread.
Tomorrow I want to sleep in, but when I get up this is what I need to do right away:

  • Go for a walk
  • Do weight lifting
  • Put in a load of laundry
  • Review things that need to get done for the day and week

Falcon

Slight change in plans

O.k., got the 1st three things done.  But I've got some things on my mind & I'm not concentrating well enough to focus on reviewing stuff -- I'm better off doing something physical than mental until my brain finishes defragging itself.  :)

So before I go out, I intend to:

  • Clean the bathroom
  • Vacuum the kitchen and bedroom
  • Dust the living room and bedroom

Falcon

Got some done

Well, I did get some cleaning done, but also took a much-needed nap.  I'll be back later in the week when I have a free evening and can tackle the rest of the cleaning!

Falcon

Thanks!

I like your graphic for today!
