Bookend

Thank you so much to all of you who are posting here.

I'm already mad at myself because I was going to post my bookend about an hour ago and ended up -- as far too usual -- surfing around reading the NYTimes, MSN, etc.

I'm going to make the choice to turn that over to HP and stay in NOW.  This doesn't have to mean the whole day is ruined and I have an excuse to not to any work today.

So here it is.  I am going to do 45 minutes of work and check back in here and say I've done it.

Again, this is really helping me, so thank you to you all.

I did the 45 minutes of work, but it wasn't really on the most important stuff I need to be reading, I think :(

I am going to have lunch and then do some more work, hopefully.

Committing to > 30 more minutes

Commiting to at least 30 more minutes of reading on my dissertation.

Will book end after I have done it.

I did more work, but it wasn't the reading.  It was note-taking from the same book.

I hope we begin to have on-line meetings here.  I could really use them!

I'm glad to see your posts. Please keep them up. You've really helped me since I've been here, and I hope I can somehow pay you back in the future. Did you get around to going back to your 12 step meetings? Hope so. Funny thing, this site is alot like going to a meeting. From the number of folks who are registered, seems like ALOT of them "just continue to listen". Perhaps we'll have some PA meetings online here--either scheduled or impromptu. Just like my 12 step program, alot of folks come in and get involved for a bit, and leave when things get a little better. Nothing wrong with that, mind you. Super for them. I fear if my procrastination was left unchecked, I'd end up living beneath a bridge someday. It would be great to have some more personal interaction in the forums here in the future. A few words of encouragement or a shared feeling have helped many minor successes come to fruition for me. Bye for now.

I'm glad that my encouragement has been helpful to you.  It is amazing what just a few words can do in terms of energy and accountability.

I haven't gotten back to my meetings.  There are two tomorrow that I can go to, and I'm going to go to the first one.  Thanks for reminding me of that intention!

I know the feeling.  I keep finding new and exciting ways to sabotage myself.  It's 10:30 and I really haven't done any work yet.  Embarassed  Not good.  And if I don't have a good, productive Friday, it tends to cast a shadow over my whole weekend, you know?

Okay.  Time to take a deep breath and get cracking!
