Thanks for mentioning dishes Pro. Mine are soaking, so when I'm done here I'm spending a half hour in the kitchen. When chores are done it seems to take away alot of food for the procrastination bug.
It's going to be one long to-do list tomorrow :(

Hi everyone. I signed up for Fylady last night, and I'm overwhelmed a little, but optimistic it'll help. Thanks for suggesting it. My place is actually much better now than it used to be. Otherwise I'm going to have dinner with friends, and get caught up on non-work things today. Never mistake motion for action – Ernest Hemingway
Yesterday I stopped by my storage room on the way back from dropping off my car with the mechanic. When I got there, I realized I didn't have the keys with me. Where were the keys??
When I got home, I looked in a junk drawer in the office where I thought I had a second set. I had to take everything out of the drawer to find it, and "everything" is all over the apartment now. But where was my spare set? I mean, I'd had two sets of these keys - where was the other one?
Then I had a recollection of seeing the key in my bag of keys, which I'd dumped recently for another reason. I dumped it again (read "another mess") and found the real spare set of keys. The set in the junk drawer was the set I was supposed to be carrying with me - not sure how it ended up in the junk drawer.
So I have junk drawer and key bag contents all over the place, plus regular desk mess, plus yesterday's clothes in a pile on the floor. When I look around, I want to go back to sleep. I'm eating breakfast. I think once I get started I'll be okay, but it's hard to get started.
Oh - almost forgot. Happy Easter to those who observe Easter!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
Too familiar a situation :rolleyes: I don't think I know where any of my little things are. I have to go through pretty much an entire desk's worth of clutter to find anything, which is ridiculous, because it wastes so much of my time and I end up with no visible floor :-(
The fun bit is dumping everything back in :-p Quick and effortless }:-)
As for the graphics, I scrounge those from just about anywhere, Pro. Sometimes I find some on forums posted by other people, sometimes on websites, and sometimes I use free online picture galleries. The trick is to keep your eyes open, because you never know when you’ll stumble upon something promising.
I put the stuff in cabinet #2 back, put all the extra keys back in the bag, swapped my "extra computer parts" bag for a larger one that can hold everything, and laid out my pills for the day.
I know what you mean. Stuff seems to collect magically. Sometimes I make it a game of sorts clearing a drawers or storage boxes, and then getting rid of enough excess to be able to put things away more orderly, and in one less drawer or box. I'm always afraid to discard keys, so I recently went through my keys, and found several that were definately not needed. Then I put the rest on a couple big keyrings. Successes like that seem to be good prorastination weapons.
Woke and my flat is clear and clean. I'm glad I did that last night even when I didn't feel like it.
I hope you like Flylady
I especially appreciated her "baby steps" and generally non-judgmental attitude (e.g., housework done incorrectly still blesses your family/home).
Thanks Mollie
There's alot to absorb from Flylady, but I think anything I pick up will help. It's going to take a while for me to get the routine down.
Where do you find them, Edge?
Where do you find these cool graphics, Edge?
I need to do laundry and clean up this mess of an apartment today - thought maybe I should check in to give me motivation.
dumped cabinet #2
I forgot to mention... I also dumped another cabinet looking for the keys. The stuff from there is all over my bed - I slept with it last night.
I've put most of the stuff back in the junk drawer - in a non-junky way.
