Welcome to Thursday Rexroth

Lark at 7:15pm

Well, I checked off the things on today's could do better on the housework part, but I'm going (12 Step) meeting soon. I'll plan some housework and reading afterwards.

reading

Gilvado 1:40 MST

Well, I didn't get any of the database lab done yesterday, but i don't feel it's a huge deal considering the all-nighter I pulled. Today I want to actually get those bits of the database lab done, and then start cleaning and reorganizing my room.

Great attitude

Hi Gilvado,

Glad you're not letting what happened yesterday get you down and are seeing it in the context of the all-nighter. Have a great day!

Thomas C., 9:38 a.m. PDT

Having bought breakfast, which I rarely do (we usually make it and eat it in the car), and having meditated, I am ready to start my day.

Haven't gone on news websites. Haven't done email. I'm actually going to "dive in" to actual work, instead of warming up as I too often do.

To do:

* take notes on readings for class 1 (already read them)
* write lecture for class 1
* review reading and lecture for class 2
* make sure music is ready for class 2
* finish balancing checkbook, print, revise spending plan
* call utilities and pay

Hi Thomas

I hope the "diving in" approach worked well. I have a similar habit of checking email and various websites before starting work, and that checking can drag on for hours, sometimes all day. Good for you for getting right to it!

Winter has returned around here for a few days. Yuck. Yesterday I reached a good stopping point with something at work, and must wait till others do their thing. I'm optimistic things will be well with work in the meantime--and when it comes time to finish the first project.
Today:
(X) morning things
(X) heat workshop
(X)minor house and shop cleanup
(X)call client to say his project is ready
(X)finish the next project
(X)step up workplan for next project

All for now. Good luck everyone.

Optimism

Hi Lark,

I think sometimes my procrastination results from my pessimism--I don't believe I'll get whatever it is done or done well. It's great to start the day with optimism!

Mollie

Hey Mollie

Right. Feeling good about a project or whatever helps us start and keep moving. One thing I've noticed about myself is whenever someone is procrastinating on me, I get really p-o'ed, and I shouldn't. I quess it's just karma!

Not doing well.

Sorry to hear that

Hi Rexroth,

Sorry you had a tough latter part to the day. I've been mostly lurking, occasionally posting here, for months. I really like that even if you have days that don't go that well, you're very consistent about coming back the next day. I would like to adopt that habit.
