(thank-you to PA member RisingUp who contributed the idea for this thread-starter)

@ Gwen D

Wishing you all the very best, Solidarityxo

@ Jalla

Thank you! I will report back in one hour.

Gwen D looking hard

I need to "work at a different speed".... which is putting it mildly. I have been apoplectic. Or something.

I will do this in the next two hours, ha ha

eat lunch, lamb chops and kale and potato because I haven't really eaten since Thursday night

put away everything on counters and tables, i.e. wash dishes or sort papers

do another load of laundry

take some clothes to cleaner to be repaired and/or cleaned (i think)

put away rest of clothes so floor and chair are emptied

entertain guest and be ready to go to city before 3pm, and stay for a day? Oh boy.

//

Tomorrow...

think about your work life when you don't have a headache

--do Google Form survey? Or Survey Gizmo Survey with Exact Questions as assigned. ---ugh

--put the BCCG presentation together as if it doesn't matter

--strategize office move, consider going in tomorrow to clean?

--decide if you need more training at Badcamp tomorrow

sit with one bag of papers and decide to file or throw

I know I always come in crashing, but dear PArs, I do appreciate you all being here.

a friend gave me good advice yesterday, she said I should consider these hard times like a storm... I may not be able to make the rain stop, but I can stay warm and dry if I make the effort...

Gnothi Seauton ~ Know Thyself

fudoshin: 21 days of exercise: day 21

Please do not leave advice or feedback.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

The commitment is thirty minutes of exercise before midnight of
any of the following format: running, jogging, a combination of
running-walking-jogging, swimming, walking, attending a fitness
class, stationary biking, biking, dance class, aerobic class, yoga,
karate (or other martial arts).  My ultimate goal is to run a
second marathon. In order to do that I need to being able to run for
30 minutes again.  My goal is to complete the running plan by doing it as a 28-week plan, which is a slower version of the
eight-week Rodale run/walk plan. I'm going to shoot for doing one unit of the running plan per day and running three
miles a day and swimming for one mile on weekends, so that I can make
some progress in my running plan, even if I don't make it during the
week. But all I have to do for my commitment is one half-hour of
exercise per day, of any format above. I am doing this because:

  1. I want to be able to wear the clothes
in my closet. I don't want to have to be choosey, only wearing the
extra-large shirts or things that don't look great on me, b/c of how
    I feel about my body.
  2. I'm sick of feeling sorry for myself
that almost no one asks me out on a date; I'm sick of attributing
that circumstance to my appearance. It's not about my appearance.
  3. I don't want to be the “ugly one”
in the photographs at work. I want to take pride in the way I look
and have the means to do that via the clothes I wear.
  4. I feel that running or exercise will
give me the strength I need to show up to other commitments in my
life. Challenges in the running sphere require me to meet other
priorities in my life so that I can exercise unimpeded and feel good
that my investment in myself is going somewhere.
  5. I want to feel good about myself when I
    go outside or meet people.
  6. I don't trust myself to exercise at the
end of the day or at some point before midnight unless I make the
commitment here to do it. Being accountable to others by making a
commitment here, helps me to be accountable to myself. Making a
commitment here, helps me to have the faith in myself that at some
point in the day the exercise will get done.
  7. Practicing being on time for this
commitment will assist me in being on time for other appointments,
projects or time-sensitive communications in my life. Running is a
    practice in self-accountability.
  8. Running or jogging helps me to practice
willpower for other activities that require energy.
  9. Exercise helps me to feel comfortable
in what I am doing, b/c I am not constantly fidgeting at my desk or
feeling like I SHOULD be running/swimming/walking or getting out in
the sun or that I SHOULD have done those things last night.
  10. Exercise helps me to avoid feelings of
not being adequate, because I have confidence in myself as a person
interacting with co-workers, managers and figures of authority.
  11. Exercise helps me focus on what's most
important to me in the moment and helps me avoid unncessary or
    counter-productive confrontations or interactions.
  12. Exercise makes everything tighter,
which makes me feel more comfortable with myself, helps me to be able
    to live with myself.

---------------------------------

I would just like to say that I really like the image for the starter of the day.  I have been walking in the evenings a lot to do this commitment, but my goal is to move my day up, so that I'm not out at night, b/c of the weather.  My vision for myself is that I wake up at 6am.  I don't expect to get there immediately, but I'm hoping to wake up 30 minutes earlier on weekdays.  Some things I can do to make sure I go to sleep on time are 1) living up to my biggest priorities for the day 2) brushing and flossing and using the periodontic brush before bed 3) taking a shower and sleeping in my bed, 4) exercising before I go to sleep (it's the only way I can sleep at night).  My vision also includes that I participate in a monetizing activity outside of my usual job, that I get massages twice a month.  Also, I want to do something creative, and I've been meaning to make YouTube videos about movies for  a long time. It's something I used to do, and then I just got busy or felt ashamed of my appearance, so I was afraid to make videos.   I was also afraid of haters, but that comes with the territory.  Doing something performative is part of my vision for myself.
