"Be of good cheer.

Do not think of today's failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow.

You have set yourselves a difficult task, but you will succeed if you persevere, and you will find a joy in overcoming obstacles, a delight in climbing rugged paths — (which you would perhaps never know — if you did not sometime slip backward, or if the road was always smooth and pleasant).

Remember, no effort that we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost. Sometime, somewhere, somehow, we shall find that which we seek."

-- Helen Keller

Sure why not?

This is a very late checkin but late is always better than later.  Everything I do no matter how small will be done.

  1. Set my alarm clock. Power went out earlier today.
  2. Put my flight itinerary details on my phone and throw the paper away.
  3. Set an alarm to get my laundry in 30 minutes
  4. Make a list of software I can use to do Canadian taxes. I'm getting stuck here. I don't know how to find these. I need to make the task smaller. It's obvious that as soon as the end of a task is not in sight, I have difficulty doing it and procrastinate.
  5. Google list of free software for canadian taxes
  6. Google list of free software for canadian taxes 2012. I still got distracted but was able to refocus
  7. Download genutax. I may try studiotax again later but genu tax says it is easy to use.
  8. Install genu tax. This was easy. But in the time to download and install I got distracted.
  9. I'm just going to use studio. I got distracted for a bit again watching my little brother play and hearing my mom tell me she wanted the login to my school stuff. Studiotax is what I used in the past.
  10. Download studio.
  11. Alright I found an existing 2011 copy of my stuff.
  12. This is stupid, but I can't put a non Canadian address. Studio tax is really a bad software.
  13. I'm switching back to genutax. It seems much better and asked if I had significant ties to Canada even though I lived somewhere else. I'm still going to school here... I'm obviously going to have ties.
  14. My tax forms are asking for my RRSP deduction limit. I don't have this in a freaking document, because I am living in the States and the document got sent to Canada. I also don't have access to my online details.. because I am living in the States and my access confirmation code was... sent to Canada. HURR
  15. OMFG are these numbers they're asking me for pre or post tax?
  16. I need to sign in. Maybe I can contact the people by phone. This will block me until tomorrow.
  17. I will try to get at least some numbers from my 2011 return by opening it with my 2011
  18. So this blocker was one of the biggest of my life...
I'm just going to move the rest of my list out of sight to focus on one thing at a time to make it less dauting. My tasks are small enough. I usually am able to get my laundry in one go but in the past I have gotten it and not folded it away.
  1. Do my 1st trip down to the laundry room.
  2. 2nd trip to laundry room
  3. Lay out laundry on bed
  4. 3rd trip to laundry room
  5. Hang everything up and put away socks and boxers
  6. Get another bag for my garbage bin
  7. Set all the other clocks in the house

Great day today with family and connecting with old friend. Grateful

HAPPY EASTER - clement ci - day 141 attmptg abst, 61 from self

24:1 "Now on the first day of the week, at early dawn, the women went to the tomb, taking the aromatic spices they had prepared. 24:2 They found that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb, 24:3 but when they went in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 24:4 While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men stood beside them in dazzling attire. 24:5 The women were terribly frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 24:6 He is not here, He is Risen!" - Luke 24:1-6

I believe!

Abstinence from unplanned time.

  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do impulsively is write something on my todo list.
  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do off plan is recovery, something to maintain my sobriety, when tempted. I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety than to get things done.

Abstinence from relying on self.

We reviewed our fears thoroughly. We put them on paper, even though we had no resentment in connection with them. We asked ourselves why we had them. Wasn't it because self-reliance failed us? Self-reliance was good as far as it went, but it didn't go far enough. Some of us once had great self-confidence, but it didn't fully solve the fear problem, or any other. When it made us cocky, it was worse.

Perhaps there is a better way - we think so. For we are now on a different basis; the basis of trusting and relying upon God. We trust infinite God rather than our finite selves. We are in the world to play the role He assigns. Just to the extent that we do as we think He would have us, and humbly rely on Him, does He enable us to match calamity with serenity.

We never apologize to anyone for depending upon our Creator. We can laugh at those who think spirituality the way of weakness. Paradoxically, it is the way of strength. The verdict of the ages is that faith means courage. All men of faith have courage. They trust their God. We never apologize for God. Instead we let Him demonstrate, through us, what He can do. We ask Him to remove our fear and direct our attention to what He would have us be. At once, we commence to outgrow fear. p68 AA Big Book.
