Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
BREAKTHROUGH, 3PM:
Problem: I'm a perfectionist, and one small piece never feels "good
enough" to me. Conflict: I don't feel like doing the whole thing because
it feels "too overwhelming" to me. Thus, state of complete paralysis.
Solution: New motto: If I am avoiding doing something, it means I have not broken it down enough. One piece is good enough, because it's a necessary part to finish the whole. Each piece is valid. Stop letting my feelings rule my behavior. Do the small broken-down piece EVEN IF it doesn't feel "good enough."
Reminder: So,
even if doing one small broken-down piece does not "feel" good to me, I
have to do it anyway. Like it doesn't feel good for an alcoholic to
stop drinking. But they still have to stop drinking, or they die. I have to stop letting my feelings rule my behavior. Because if I don't stop avoiding breaking things down into pieces that I do, then I remain homeless, in poverty, and eventualy dead too.
Like faith, it is a CHOICE I have to make. Even when I don't feel like it!!!!
I must draw upon my Creator's will and strength to do the task during those times when I am conflicted into paralysis and don't feel like doing A or B.

10:26pm : it's been 3mi since i last went off plan.
It's been 1hr 14min since i last relied on self.
"It is my eager ... hope that ... Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death.
For to me to live is Christ, to die is gain." - Philippians 1:20-21
to adapt that verse a little to my own situation that God would be glorified in my life, whether i have a day of recovery, or a day of seeking recovery and failing. I truly believe this can be the case. Lord make it so.
Good morning - working from home today. I've read email and checked my calendar. I have a meeting at 9 am so I will exercise for 30 minutes and have breakfast before the meeting, then make todo list after (or during) the meeting.
The older I grow, the more I distrust the familiar doctrine that age brings wisdom - H.L. Mencken
I feel slightly badly and I know that in the real world, outside of academia, I won't have a chance to do this, but...I am taking a day. Not going to class, just holing up to write and edit my gigantic research paper that's due Friday. I am fortunate to have this time and I vow NOT to let it go to waste.
