We will become mature, responsible individuals with a great capacity for joy, fulfillment, and wonder.

Though we may never be perfect, continued spiritual progress will reveal to us our enormous potential.

clement ci - day 18 attempting abstinence

This is a life experiment at abstinence from procrastination. To my knowledge, there's no definition of what abstinence from procrastination means, and several have been suggested on this board. I am trying : abstinence from unplanned time. I have a tendency to jump on bandwagons and so I will only know how this experiment is going when I can look back after 1 month, 3 months, 9 months, 1 year. The idea that every minute of my life will be planned seems suffocatingly restrictive to me. But to me subjecting all my time and tasks to a plan is subjecting them to God's will. I intend to always ask, what does God want me to do today? What does god want me to do next? And whatever that answer is, I intend to do nothing other. At this point in my faith journey, I accept a life entirely submitted to God's will.

11pm : It has been about 20 min since i last went off plan. I am 20 min into a new beginning.

I applied for another job.

plan is:
:) 20 min football.
:) plan
:| prep for training tmrw. did some.

11:48 : it's 1h 8 min since i last went off plan.

...went on an online bender... :-(

I feel really gross right now.  It's been happening that I keep taking vitamins in the morning and feeling this way.  I must not take anymore than the required amounts.

I am going to put on sunblock, brush, floss, use listerine, use the periodontic brush and either do a walk or run for thirty minutes.  Done.

6:57 p.m.: I have gotten a lot done today and I feel proud of myself, but I also feel like I'm shirking my most important tasks, the memo and reading. I will jump on those now.

11:20 p.m.: I got everything I wanted to get done but my readings. It was probably overly ambitious to expect to get all of those done today anyway. I did start my memo, which I'm proud of, but I know that I have a lot of work ahead of me. I am trying not to let my fear of it cloud my judgment. I am getting up early tomorrow to work on it and do my readings for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I need to be 3/4 of the way done with my memo by 11 p.m. tomorrow night. I think that I can handle that. Again, I am not going to let my fear of the task keep me from doing it.

journey noon

Happy Sunday!

I worked last night - first time I've worked a weekend in over a month and I'm feeling very tired today.  I want to get a few things done around the house today, and I need to stay busy so that I will sleep tonight and get back on a normal schedule.   I went to bed at 4 and got up  at 10 so I got enough  sleep.

Right now I am going to get dressed and have some breakfast then I will make a plan for the rest of the day. I definitely need to take a look at my budget today because I know I've been in a holiday over spending and overeating mode and I need to get a handle on both before I dig myself into a hole!

I'll check back when to-do list is done.

Jo

Update 3 pm: laundry is started, I organized my messy purse, laid out clothes for work and gym, and changed cat litter.   Now I will fold one load of laundry and face the budget.   I don't have to do it all today but I can start getting it back in order and plan the rest of the Christmas gifts I plan to buy.   I like to do my Christmas shopping online and my goal is to have everything ordered by Dec. 1 and keep the cost under control.

Update 6pm budget updated, Christmas list updated.   Checked credit card balance, not as bad as I had imagined.   It's always better to face the realitiy than to just worry about it, right?

Now dinner and dishes and the rest of the evening will be for relaxing.

See you tomorrow!

Mole's check in

Thank you movingalong for starting the thread and lighting the way.

i have got up, walked to town, bought vegetables at the market, gone to ringing, socialised, come home, eaten healthy lunch, packed up and sent Xmas parcels to GB and CH - why do I always leave posting stuff until it goes into a higher price bracket? I do the same with library books passing due by dates and use by dates on food in the fridge.i even bought all the presents in good time.. Ah we'll - room for improvement.

Salamander's check in - Sun 25 Nov 2012

Thank you, pro, for maintaining these boards for the fellowship. Thank you also to movingalong for starting the thread with such an uplifting quotation.

Major thanks to the Mole for kindly suggesting a "Not allowed to touch kitchen floor day", which may be just what is needed to get the entire floor made spotless! Darnit but I am a contrary Mary. Is anyone else bloody-minded, even with themselves?!

I would appreciate it if anyone who feels moved to comment on my post here would write to me privately rather than post in reply to this post - so I can still edit this post here. Thank you!
