The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step  - According to someone but applicable to everyone.

A busy day ahead, finally over the illness and emotional disturbance.

Plan:

  • LG
  • dinner

Progress Noon CI 7/23

This is it, write 8 pieces a day or don't pay my rent/bills. Even with that I'll still be late on some of the bills.

I want to take a speedy approach, as quantity not quality is the order of the day now. I do not need to spend as much time as I've been to get these things finished decently.

I'll take the "I Want" approach today too (Thanks Thesis!).

1. I want to write 8 articles today, maybe a couple more than that.

2. I want to take an exercise break today, to do aerobics, abs and legs, and maybe some extra stretching

3. I want to take a prayer break, step workbook break, and CD/journal/Bible study break today -- and listen in on a 10:30pm phone meeting while I work tonight.

4. I want to practice/work on a song tonight.

That's it! Smile

kromer 10:45 CI

Today is going to be a short work day. Which is not great, but it's fine (I worked some over the weekend and worked longish hours last week, so a part-day today is understandable.)

Need to:
*Buy slippers for BC, visit BC, text F
*Mail book
*Restore, dose
*Stage 1
*Finish probe design(have started this, working on it now)
*Call parents

Hypatia's check-in

good morning all.  I'm back from holiday, but not quite raring to go.  My neighbour is complaining politely about the state of my garden and while I was away last week dropped a note in with the name of a local gardener.  The neighbour is 92yrs old and a bit of a perfectionist - he was fit enough to do his own garden until the last month.  I'm going to do the garden at my own speed.

Anyhow I'm at work now, with a pile of paperwork ahead of me...

  • today's reports
  • phone call re CV
  • sign letters
  • verification
  • in-tray
  • e-mails
  • LAC pile
  • LAC meeting

nosy neighbor

If I wasn't so far away I'd volunteer to put a note in neighbor's mailbox that said ' BITE ME ' .   Surely he's aware that you just lost your husband!   I'm annoyed on your behalf.   But as you said, you'll take care of things on your own timeline.   :)

Embrace the suck!

It's an inside job...

Thesis - Things I WANT to do today

I'll work in 25mt slots - Bring back that Pomodoro!

1. I want to finish this section in an hour. - 2 Pomodoros (25 mt slots) (3.30pm)

2. I want to finish the section on congregational spaces  - 6 pomodoros. (7pm)

3. Take a break for an hour - shower, go for a walk (7-8pm)

4. i want to finish the section on community centre model 8 pomodoros (8-10, 10pm-12am)

5. Get to bed at 12.30am

I am going to concentrate. I want to concentrate. Everytime my mind drifts, i will pay attention to it and bring it back to the present moment. I will take breaks mindfully. I will write mindfully.

I will keep restarting each time I stop - THIS i promise myself today.

P.S. Google pomodoro. I think it has the potential to be a good technique for procrastinators.
