Progress CI Tues. 7/3

I second what Journey says, that today is a tough one because of the looming 4th of July holiday tomorrow. Feeling the pressure to get a lot of writing done today, more than I normally would do. But I'm ready to go for it. I have a lot to be thankful for this week ... my new relationship that is the happiest I've had in far too long, good family, a roof still over my head, my faith ... My Higher Power is going to get me through this financial mess I created again. I'll keep praying for God to remove whatever obstacle is in me that keeps me paralyzed in this area of my life regarding money and work. I'll keep waiting for the solutions. Thank you God and this program and all 12-step groups.

MITS in red.   Okey-dokey here goes

Update 2:15.  Did pretty good until I took a lunch break, but having trouble getting back on track for the last hour or so.   Posting to get me back in gear.   Here goes.   I am postponing working on my two MITs.  Because they are hard, and I'm feeling lazy:grin:  OK, back to work.

Update 5:30 OMG I did get my MITs done but it was PAINFULLY SLOW.  But I KEPT STARTING and made progress, although I didn't finish all the lower priority things I had planned.   Whatev.  I'm happy with today's work.   Now to make a quick dinner and do a few things around the house!

Journey 9:45

Happy Tuesday!   Working frome home today, and having a hard time getting started.   The big emergency pressure project is done, software vendors have gone home, it's hot, and there's a holiday mood in the air because tomorrow is Independence Day for us in the US.   All of these things are conspiring to make me feel like goofing off!

Things are weird at work also, as our new CIO just did a round of layoffs and has committed to saving $x dollars so we are in extreme cost saving mode.   There is expected to be another round of layoffs in September, and I don't want to be one of them, so I need to step it up and be seen as valuable.   oh yeah, and our manager resigned.    Not looking that good around Large Corporation these days.   I'm gonna try to hang in here for a few more years, then I can retire if I have to.  Not that I won't have to keep working, but I'll have some retirement income I can count on while I look for something else.  I'll keep working here until I can really and truly retire if possible, it's not a bad place and I like the work, even if the hours and the pressure get to me sometimes.

OK so now it's almost 10 am.   I've been to the gym, stopped by the drug store, and read my email.   Now for todo list and getting down to business.   L8tr

Check in

It's Tuesday, and I am going to do some volunteering later on. This is something I've been meaning to do for a long time, and thanks to sticking with my program, and now having free time as I'm officially on holiday, I'm finally doing it. Don't know whether it'll be a one-off (I might not be any good, I might not enjoy it...) or a regular commitment, but I feel a little apprehensive: I want to make a good impression and I want to do a good job.

Meanwhile, some things I need to do this morning:

  • walk the dogs
  • finish folding/throwing/putting in laundry the clothes in my bedroom
  • hoover the bedroom
  • have a VERY quick shower (I washed my hair, close enough...)
  • get to meeting
  • cycle to my volunteer job

I'll check in again later with any other stuff, but that's enough for now.
