Resentment is the great distraction.

Letting go frees us to move forward.

Serenity is the key to doing our own tasks.

Gosh, it's already nearly 7, I've been having a quite lazy day. I need to go into the chatbox and get some fellow procrastinator to burst with me. The things I'd like to get done in a few 15minute bursts are:

  1. vaccuum my bedroom
  2. sort the clothes in my bedroom: throw out, launder and put away piles
  3. sort out books: I must have a cull
  4. clear off the table in the living room (hot spot)
  5. go through airing cupboard sorting out clothes properly (folding and possibly chucking)

And I must make a couple of phone calls to friends. And get to bed EARLY!!!! I need a proper sleep...

It's an inside job...

Progress CI Mon. 7/2

After a night of crying to release past pain and fear from what was a very difficult decade, I'm feeling a little better looking forward to my date tonight. However, my financial situation is in a shambles. I am flat broke. All thanks to my avoidance addiction. The work I have to do is not very easy for me, but it's there. Still, I have made no effort whatsoever to apply for new jobs in months. I feel kind of lost because I'm sick of my industry and just want out, but I still need money. Same old story. I need help, God. Please help me be willing to look for new jobs and apply. Help me be willing to earn income to support myself. Help me think rationally and clearly about my avoidance and underearning so that I'm not living in complete denial about my finances. Give me courage, God. Thank you.

show up (done)

Thanks for the starter MA, I too have become more aware of my thoughts/emotions/procrastination. Still pealing the layers....Even thoughts like dealing with the mundane are dangerous.

Praying for willingness to be willing to be willing....

Starting the new month fresh

Had a tough June, with hospitalization and other health issues with my elderly parents, my own health concerns, trying hard not to fall too far behind at work, etc.  Did my best just to hold on.  Ready to shake the Etch-A-Sketch and start a new drawing this month.

Goal 1: Work in 20 minute blocks, making a conscious effort not to get distracted by email or internet, trying to maximize my progress from 10 AM to 5 PM. Still having tough time with productivity and rising above the lowest 10% among my peers (I have inhabited the basement for a long time).  Stressing about it doesn't seem to help much; need to redouble efforts to do what I can do and be reasonable about what is "satisfactory" progress.

Goal 2: Take 1 hour break for lunch and mind clearing; can check email and such at that time

Goal 3: Devote a couple of hours to outstanding big projects

Goal 4: Try to leave work between 7 and 7:30 PM

Goal 5: Start with a new resolution to exercise this month

Goal 6: Spend some personal time at home

Goal 7: Try to do a little professional society work at home; would like to chip away at this, because I don't want to give it up, but alternate between frenetic activity trying to catch up followed by extended periods of neglect, which is stressful for me and irritating to society members; always feel overwhelmed with undone things (much like at "real" work)

Goal 8: Bedtime by 11:00 PM.  Still extremely hard for me to "let go" at night, trying to eke out some "relaxation time" to make up for the monotonous days.  Last night could have gone to bed at 11 PM, but stayed up until 12:30 AM looking at movie trailers and listening to music online.  In short, I am procrastinating about going to bed, no big surprise there.

Back to report.
